DJ/producer/remixer SASHA is recognized as one of the worlds’ most innovative icons of the electronic genre, he was joined by Thermal Bear for a Last Night On Earth Label takeover
If there are boundaries yet to be broken, then you can bet that Sasha has got them in the crosshairs. He's been battering them down since Shelley's, The Hacienda, Renaissance and Twilo; from Airdrawndagger to Invol3r. Since 2011, he's carved a new way with his increasingly pivotal Last Night On Earth imprint, the label that has introduced into its family fiercely forward-thinking producers like My Favourite Robot's James Teej, Simon Baker, ThermalBear, Ejeca, Ghosting Season, Max Cooper and Knox.
Then there was the arrival of the long-awaited third album in his 'Involver' series in 2013, the intricate and challenging 'Involv3r'. It combined on one disc Sasha's peerless command of dancefloor sensibilities and on the other his skilful exploration of beatless soundscapes, featuring his exclusive interpretations of tracks from The xx, Blondes, Little Dragon, Benjamin Damage, Foals and ThermalBear. It also featured 'Shoot You Down', his own spine-chilling anthem with vocals from the beguiling Swedish chanteuse Kicki Halmos.

Yes, this is hows its done, rusty, smoky, the real Dj flavour is here....This is what DJ does, he dj's...Unlike some who are just busy raising their hands up in the air making love hearts....busting moves to the lights....playing pre-recorded sets....For those like that...if you got some balls...play it live and play it like this guy....even some hiccups, out beats i wouldn't mind...thats what djying is all about....instant...live...there...right there....

One of many reasons he's so great is he loves his craft and the music himself. You can see it, and he shows no sign of slowing down or stopping. Thank goodness for us, right? But this is just an intimate set he played for Dj Mag. No pressure to deliver what he does here, an incredible set with exquisite music chosen. And that remix of 'Walk' Oh my God, the guy is definitely sent down for us.

Sasha was the first DJ I ever heard back in 1991 as a 14 year old. He was the best then and, despite listening to thousands of mixes and DJs since, he is still the benchmark. It will be fascinating to see how long Sasha remains relevant in his field, personally I hope it's for many many years to come.....

Sasha is so much about the build and always pretty much has been. I've seen him play possibly the best sets i've ever heard and then I've heard him totally duff too (as with most dj's). Sometimes he disappoints alot though.... I think the crowd matters to him alot - best nights i seen him are in small clubs with rocking crowds.. Amazing when he is good though..

I've read most of these comments on here and anybody that went to Shelly's in the very early 90's before it shut down will know that Sasha know's exactly what he is doing. Bloody good Saturdays. They where just after the Blackburn Warehouse Rave days. (if you was there you know what I mean) They where bonkers. Shelly's was mad! Mad place Stoke! Sasha was part of it! He knows the score so don't dis him, he can DJ better than you! Time for a bacon butty!
