Wukong is the type of a deity who always understands what his students feel like when he's about to leave. Especially MK. And using his humoristic skills to encourage him shows how much proud is he of the boy. He's not only a teacher, but a pretty good father figure .
I love this- At first, I thought the thing with his hand was ice, thank you LBD for making ICE something to worry about, but by the end, I definitely realize he had returned to stone. It's honestly a really cool scene. Really good storyboarding/animating. I loved it. ^^
It would tho!!!! Like it’s really emotional and all, seeing Mk say goodbye to the being he looked up to most and admired deeply, the being who trained him and made him who he would become. And seeing him finally grow into a true legend of a hero, taking on the torch. And then he’d train those worthy of the staff to try continuing to pass it down. It would be emotion but also such a beautiful ending.
Unless Wukong finally gets over his intense fear of death, I'm not sure how he'd willingly do this in the actual series Unless that's the end of his arc...literally. Or if this is the only way to fully pass on his powers-- though I don't think MK would ever want that.
Okay, this is great, but why am I picturing MK being killed in battle or something and Wukong watching him from the Heavens and being angry and sad that he got killed?! Or when MK wakes in Heaven and he asks him "Did I do good?" and Wukong hugs him and says ""You were perfect" while crying because MK was killed so young?! God, this video is giving me so many fanfic ideas!

When I listens "Leave out all the rest" - Linkin Park, it always reminds me about this animatic, and I come here. Your work makes me feel sorrow, but with then there are something kinda encouraging and powering up to me. When I'm looking on MK and Monkey King's goodbye scene, I represent them with myself and my dance mentor. That's why I can't hold up my tears at the end, when MK's talking with statue of Monkey King.
