I was just shy of 13 when I saw these guys for the first time at farm fest 76 in Lake Crystal Minnesota. They used me as their comedy foil throughout the entire shell! But afterwords they were incredibly kind allowed me to take pictures backstage and met with me backstage. RIP Harold he will be greatly missed. I have very very fond memories of both that concert and the following year at the Brown County fair in Minnesota with all of them. It's a time of my life I will never forget and will always remember with a smile.

@@philholloway4424 fill it happened quite by accident lol! They had just gotten over four days of rain and everything was a muddy mess. They hauled the Statler brothers Bussin with two four-wheel-drive tractors and the only reason I got to meet them and get to take pictures like I did was because I was holding onto a county Mounties horse. When they sent Saffy the security area for the concert I wasn’t allowed to move so I was within that security fence I did ask the road manager if I could take pictures so I had permission. The funniest part of it all was they kept trying to get me up on stage and I was a muddy mess so yeah I wasn’t happening. I was also quite shy at the age of 12. But yes they are times I will never forget! And I was the only one allowed to take pictures like that that day. There was about 35 to 40,000 people in the audience and even my parents didn’t know who it was that was up there until after the concert was over. The guys were incredibly nice to me and it treated me like the 12 year old I was with all due respect and of course a few jobs from Harold lol. Yes I do consider myself extremely lucky to this day I wish they were still singing but I understand we all get older and unfortunately Harold passed away I can’t imagine how Donnie felt. But one thing we have is Granstaff/Wilson Fairchild their sons who sound just like them! Worth a listen especially the Statler brothers song which is their tribute to their dads and the group as a whole

@@philholloway4424 no, I do not consider you to forward at all, as we are both adults. But statements like that can still make me blush lol. I thank you for the lovely compliment! That made my day! And actually the tickets from the Brown County fair at new Ulm Minnesota were sent to us as a family about two weeks before the concert and they were free of charge and they were front row seats, so we know where they came from! I always felt like the luckiest girl around haven’t gotten to meet them and even be Harold’s comedy foil at 12 years old lol years later I wrote to them and just asked how they were doing and asked if they remembered Farm fest 76 because of the circumstances they were there at the time I mean some of that mud was waist deep even then and his black dirt Minnesota farmland. That year they had our boys and the Oak Ridge boys as the two main concerts and Jimmy Carter than a presidential candidate spoke the day of the Statler Brothers concert he was actually quite a good speaker! They did not sing how great thou art that day but rather Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. I thought that was really cute I love that song to this day. Well Sarah you have a great day a great week and hopefully we can chat soon quick! You can always reach me at Xpeachesxcreamx x@iCloud.com if you’d like to chat. I hope that isn’t being too forward lol and I’m trying to make it easier on you so we can chitchat if you’d like peace my friend! Ronnie Joe

I think George Strait and the Statler brothers would've been welcome additions to the Hee Haw cast. Also, I love the mother in law jokes, but I feel I can one-up them. My mother in law is so ugly, that when she climbed up the ugly tree, the tree told her to get lost. Also, my mother in law is so ugly, that when she fell out of the ugly tree, she hit the ground, and explored the tree's root system. Also, R. I. P., Harold Reid.

You have it all dear a fabulous figure,
You have everything a young man could ask,
    Your shoulders are broad
    And you're bulging with muscles,
Why did you grow that big black mustache.
Where oh where are you tonight,
Why did you leave me here all alone,
    I searched the world over
And I thought I found true love,
You met another and plffft you were gone.

Hee Haw performed so many random skit and sketch ideas with different Nashville guest stars. The producers just simply created a 40-minute show out of previously recorded material from the regular cast sketches and the other half featuring the guest star. Since the show was even produced in Nashville, the logistics of having the guests on the show was fairly easy.
