It's good to know the secrets and it's good to understand things knowledge is everything but love is the key to the universe
If you want to get immersed in the Kabbalah, start with the Sefer Yetzirah, the Hekhalot, Sefer Raziel HaMalakh, the Bahir, the Pardes Rimonim, the Etz Chaim, and the Zohar. These books will give you a good base for addition studies and understanding.

A few months ago, I prayed for the truth. I don't need to know everything, but why are we here and what is the purpose of all of this? I was lead to Kabbalah. But there's something about it that doesn't sit right with me, although it's very clear to me that the current "Bible" in its form seems to be very much connected.

Sounds like Talmud oral teachings from Babylon. Does not resemble the instructions from the Torah, that were brought out of Mitzraim by Moishe and carried in the Arc of the Covenant with Mosaic Laws for the Israelites. It sounds gnostic in the aspect of seeking secret mysticism of the foreign gods that Israel was punished for observing over and over again until the final disbursion in 70 AD. In my mind the instructions are straight forward. How were you able to look through a portal and what are the things that you saw there?
I am trying to read/watch all that i can in order to learn and understand what all is going on but it is very difficult to do because pretty much everything that we are allowed access to has been compromised. I would love to read the Bible but it is very difficult to understand what is actually being said and then there is the issue of whether it is an accurate and true event or if it is just more made up lies. I don’t even know at this point what Bible, if any, can be trusted!

"Created in the image of God" as "Authentic Human Beings", in the Garden of Eden. (the allegorical original State of Being) That "Image of God" is: as God described Himself to Moses, I AM, THAT I AM. Both the nature of God, and the nature of Mankind.
So in the allegorical Garden of Eden, by "free will choice", Mankind became no longer "in the image of God", no longer Authentic Human Beings. Why??? Because of "lies and deceit", Mankind became NOT "created in the image of God", but became "self created" as a false and phoney state of being. Call it Ego, call it error or sin, or Satan or whatever you want. But it is an INAUTHENTIC STATE OF BEING. This "I AM, THAT I AM" nature can be called "Mind", "Thought", "Awareness", Self Awareness", "Consciousness", "Knowing" etc. etc.
Buddha also addressed this issue from a completely different direction: “All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. WHAT WE THINK WE BECOME.” - Buddha. Buddha also said that "Thought is the cause of all Suffering." And as it is also known that the "mechanism of thought" is "DUALISTIC", (it works by CONTRASTING of RELATIVE ideas and concepts) such as Hot/Cold, Up/Down, Red/Blue, Right/Wrong, Truth/Lies, Self/Other, Sanity/Insanity etc.
So then REALITY must lie beyond "Thought" it must be the source of "Thought", or "that from which Thought arises". (call it God on the inside, and God on the outside) So if there is such a thing as "right thought", of the kind that does not "Cause Suffering" and Emptiness and Deadness inside (expulsion from the Garden) but causes Aliveness, Happiness, Joy, Excitement etc. The AUTHENTIC STATE OF BEING. Then that "thought" must BE BEYOND DUALITY, and must recognize of THE ONENESS OF IT ALL. (its own source) The AUTHENTIC STATE OF BEING (or God Consciousness, or God Awareness) or otherwise named LOVE. And dismantle the INAUTHENTIC STATE OF BEING, the self created false, phoney, lieing, deceitful, Self, the EGO, the Great Illusion, Satan the Self Deceiver, Sin the error of thought etc.
As Jesus described the purpose of His teachings: "I am come that they might have LIFE, and have it in ABUNDANCE." - John 10:10 For Humanity to get back to the ORIGINAL and AUTHENTIC STATE OF BEING.
