  • A review and comparison of the various versions of the Hozelock connectors.
Here are links to the various connectors shown (* = recommended):
    Standard amzn.to/2XKEVM9
*Plus amzn.to/2UGs7V9 (or often the 2-pack is better value amzn.to/2PuPv7k)
    Plus (aqua-stop) amzn.to/2UHfitZ
    Pro amzn.to/2PuOhZG
    *Pro (aqua-stop) amzn.to/2XGQy6U
The hand sprayer that I showed in the video was the amzn.to/2UFPmih. It's a great balance between function, value and quality.

I found this video after getting totally fed up with hozelock at mums place where the water pressure is very high. Perhaps not fair on Hozelock due to that pressure but I find the connections to be pathetically weak. I didn't know about the Pro so I suppose I'll give that a go. I'll also look for alternatives but my hopes are low. Thanks for posting your video.

For me hozelock constantly leaked between tap and short hose from tape to reel at various places , no amount of tightening fixed it , new ones the same , they would pop out of the connections now and then , I needed to keep the water on to squirt cats in the garden but could not risk flooding the garden. Replaced with brass ones and so far seems to work.

Very informative video, thanks. What is plaustic? Just an addtional point worth mentioning, don't use the aquastop type connectors if connecting your hosepipe to a pressure washer as this can damage the motor.

    Isn’t it plastic not plarstic?

If you want to change couplings every few years go for it. Some people like a change. Otherwise checkout Geka and water profi's stuff. Geka couplings dont reduce the diameter like hozelock too so you get full flow and full pressure! These will last decades. Get a rubber hose (not PVC) and your set for more than 10 years. Plant nurseries use this rationale. Plastic hozelock stuff is for people who buy Ikea furniture, they all spend more and get less appreciation of it in the longrun :0( If you want a change every few years with these couplings you can always polish the brass up!

    Hi mate,
I got the hozelock 100 pressure washer (7900). I lost the water stop connectors. When I just plug the standard connector to the washer, it doesn’t look like it is fitted perfectly. Do I really need to buy the plus connector? Is there any difference between the deep of the standard and plus connectors for plugging different length of the inlet into them? Thanks

Hi, the Hozelock manufactured connectors are all exactly the same size / fit. The only difference is the quality of the materials and therefore durability of them.

They are for 12.5 and 15mm hoses. There is a separate model for 19mm hoses.

I wonder if they use inferior plaaarstic on the Gardenierre products?
