It's so refreshing to watch a k-drama where the female lead is such a strong character. And not the usual hard-working, honest type of strong female who still needs a chaebol to eventually rescue her - but in fact she's ruthless where needed, independent, doesn't need rescuing thank you very much, flawed but relatable, and super smart and aware. And I love it that they chose an older actress to play her. I came for Ju Ji Hoon, but I stayed because of Kim Hye Soo.
Actually there is other dramas with the same type of main lead. on top of my head, I can name "witch's court" and "Search: WWW" and "Graceful Family".. you won't regret watching them
I agree that the female lead is strong and independent but hard to sympathize with a character that is manipulative, outright deceitful and cunning. I stopped watching at 3rd episode. Hard to stomach what a scam of the earth the lead role is. She’s annoying and insufferable.
I've realized that all of the ladies in this drama r doing a great job on mirroring the emotions to audiences. And the main role lady is the most charismatic actress I've ever seen.

I'm so happy I gave Hyena a try. What a ride. I came for Ju Ji Hoon and stayed for both him and Kim Hye Soo. The cliffhangers were so great, it made me really want to check out what happens next. The chemistry between Hee Jae and Geum Ja is just out of this world.
This drama is seriously underrated!! Haven’t watched a kdrama with such a strong and independent female lead. The drama kept me hooked on to it until the very end. The only negative that I find is that the ending seems to be rushed. We deserved a much more exciting and extravagant ending. Definitely waiting for a season 2
