The Dinghy is an 4 - 6 man clan base but can be built by dedicated solos, duos, or trios. Intended for small groups who play weekly servers, biweekly servers, monthly servers, and modded. Main features of the base include an open core loot room, an easily expandable 2x1 starter, an insane amount of storage, and space for up to 8 comfortably players. If you want to worry less about farming, and more about enjoying the game -- this base is for you. *Original base by Fizzy, modified in collaboration by me.*

Managed to get the full base up end of wipe day as a solo (monthly server) Defended a 1v8 online half way through 2nd day and i loved to defend from the base, great job airpods, im a super big fan of all your bases. Keep it up

Reworked your build order - follow up to another post I made.
So build the 3x2. In the 2x1 build out your TC/loot and 1 furnace and bag. But then build 1 triangle on each exterior wall of the TC 1x1 of the core. Then up top, build half of the loot room 1 tall (not the full 2 tall). This half on the roof is 4 walls and 2 half walls and the 3 triangle floors midway up. That is to say - build the half of the loot room over the 2x1 that is inhabited and ignore the rest of the loot room construction for now.
This gives your initial TC a full 2-thick honeycomb.
That starter already saved my azz. Your starter was better than others so I opened with the Dinghy, but it needed that 2-layer defense for the TC to protect against would be curious azzclowns.
When someone passes by and sees a 3x2 with a 2-high top and triangles around the obvious TC...they think twice about wanting to crack that egg unless it's worth something.
PS - To manage resources because I'm solo and cloth is minimal close to wipe (I actually farmed furnaces faster from caves looting miner helmets lol)....I only metal upgraded the doors/doubles and the 1x1 TC core.
Everything else is stone per your build order.
Ironically though the location I chose has so much metal and wood that I might as well just go for full metal first.

A little hemp farm on top of a base is something that I think many groups could use. This is a very nice base and not too tough to build!

Nice base but do u think you could build a base a bit bigger than this but smaller than the vanta
Air pods - Amazing build... I think I've improved your starter a bit though. By expecting where the build is going - if you extend your entrance toward the disconnect before even making the compound so that you can build up a level...then early game you have a 2floor high area that you can use for planter boxes on the roofs (and a twig ramp to access) because on wipe day hemp = a BEOTCH to find.
This lets you have a makeshift farm for cloth without affecting your build plan. It would also make sense therefore to honeycomb the TC corner ahead of the build schedule you laid out. This way if for any reason you are hit early - it's not going to end up a catastrophic loss so easily as breaking through one stone wall.
I've been building this and adapting it to rough terrain. Question - do you know a good source for doing a "bent" disconnected TC? I had the bad luck of being 1 foundation too close to a monument. Obviously not going to scrap a whole build based on the lost of 1 of 4 disconnectable TCs. But I want to think outside the box and "bend" the TC so it's out of the monument zone but still functions as a disconnect.
If you take your design and you see how basically the D-TCs are straight down from the midpoint of the core. Imagine needing to shift it over by just one or two foundations to left or right.
Ideas?
Also I have been building on uneven terrain which has its own challenges but shouldn't be a problem for the build.
Using some techniques from JFARR allows you solve most those problems such as unable to place certain foundations. But you definitely need a flat enough area for the first 2 layers of the core. FYI.
But such building techniques give more creative area to deploy?
when I built it for some reason I couldn't place the last triangle foundations that you build a wall frame on and also my main tc and one D-TC keep breaking.

cool base. the main issue I see is the lack of turret coverage in open core, ie: you can stand in open core, and none of the ramp turrets will shoot you unless you jump.
You have a point, might be a better idea to have more turret angles instead of the window peak to shoot into open core
Thanks for the feedback, you can stick more turrets in the side entrances to the open core if you want more turret coverage
For me I just put the turrets way closer to the ramp

Finished it literally my favorite base I don't usually use yt bases but this one is perfect and I put a pixel bunker in the opencore and put bear rugs above it and also have vendy bunkers on roof

I did this design with me and my friends a monthly wipe on console edition 4 months ago Got super loaded got so loaded had to stuff things second floor and the bedroom was super dope had my own vending machines alongside my brother we shared a room we all did had a lot of beef in that server even a clan that had built first expanded big time 4 layer walls but got raided by a bigger group they always countered our large and our build spot was popping really dope base design man i got pictures in my phone to remind me of such a dope time for me and my friends will definitely use this design again if me and my friends ever run it again
Yr later rebuilt the base love this base design community came on a 3X can stack 3000 materials in TC 💪

This base looks amazing. Is there a way I can customize the gate houses/ make a wall like The Dune for it? I’m new to building
There is always a way! Just requires a bit of effort to make it work, id suggest playing around on a build server (if possible), look up some tutorials and try and make a combination!
Gate house are one of the most customizable part of a base i personally believe. you indeed can change it to your own design if u wanted to
You can use any gate house you would like! I went with this one because its cheap and it's the simplest way to do it. If you want better gate houses I would recommend putting bedrooms in them
LOVE UR BASES TEACH ME THE WAY. built the dune on rusty moose med and won an online vs a 8man we had 4. And built the chad 4x4 on moose mondays and i won a 1v8 raid. they got a lil loot out in the chad 4x4 but never touched open core!

Look above the wall or wall frame and u can place 3 above

Why do you always use the high external wooden wall instead of the high external stone wall?
high external wooden walls can be easily set up by a group within first 30 mins on comp servers, I play vanilla rust with a 5 man and we get a wooden compound up within first hour, allows for large furnaces etc, hope this helped!
Realistically on wipe, you will want to put a compound down as fast as possible to start cooking materials in large furnaces. The fastest progression to this is learning wood wall for 125 scrap and compound as soon as possible with wood.
You can ladder on stone wood you can’t stem and ladder over it does more damage and people usually waste a c4 on walls if getting raided anyways

So i see comments about turrets in open core what i do is U can Place 2 Turrets on wall frame in middle of open core then add 2 on each side where u would put bags and easily have 6 turrets It may be hard to get turretson wall frames but its 100% possible

Uhhh base is absolutely great if not the fact that even with armored doors and garage doors, its still hella cheap to raid through doors, considering the amount of loot you can and are supposed to have in this base
Yeah you will definitely need garage doors, there is no bunker/or anything so the design is reliant on the online defenses and the turret angles in the open core.
