I’m 19 years old and have been in the gym for around a year 5 days a week. I love it. I just found out I’m almost a month pregnant and am really struggling with the thought of my body changing so much. I already struggle with my image even while being strong and fit, so any encouragement would mean the world. I’m not sure if you or anyone will see this comment but could you go into detail about what sort of routines you followed in the gym while pregnant? You may have a video on it already so I’ll keep looking, but are there certain exercises and weights amounts I should avoid??? I feel so lost!
I know you posted this a month ago, but hopefully this still helps.. I'm 23 and about 5 months pregnant with my second, i've been a serious gym goer for under a year but it's something im super passionate about. Megsquats (youtube channel) has a few great videos on what you can and cant do while pregnant! Long story short, though, you can do a lot of what you were doing prior to pregnancy. The big things to avoid are anything painful (duh lol), any kind of plank position (push-ups, planks, etc, but reverse planks - with your belly to the sky- are great), as well as anything that strains your core a lot. Avoid pull-ups, they surprisingly engage your core a lot and that can be too much for your core. You can supplement with lat pulldowns and just be very mindful of how much you are engaging your core, go a bit easier on yourself. Definitely incorporate some core-strengthening exercises, though! If you search pregancy safe core exercises, there are lots of videos that you can see on it. I personally do bird dogs and overhead marches, and have noticed that even just doing these two exercises has helped a lot. Main thing you want to avoid is coning, or anything that puts pressure on the lining between your abs, which will be stretching a lot during pregancy, and we dont want additional strain on that. I don't have any certifications in this, but this is what i gathered from my own research and watching Megsquats' videos, and she has lots of certifications and two kids of her own. I hope this helps somewhat!
I needed to hear this. Thank you so much. You are such an inspiration! I am 4 months postpartum and had a traumatic birth experience. I had to gain a significant amount of weight after delivery to increase my milk supply. I am so grateful to be able to feed my baby from my own body but it is so discouraging looking in the mirror.
Thanks for sharing…having such a hard time. Mom of 3 and have had such a hard time the past two years. I have lost all the weight after each pregnancy, but had a mommy makeover, moved across the country, and started working full time after just being PRN. I can’t get in a good mental mindset since the move and have gained 45ish lbs…I used to eat healthily consistently and workout 5-7 days a week. Now I have to be at work by 5:40 am 3-4 days a week, get home at 5p to cook and get my kids down. I can’t figure out how to fit workouts in and eat healthily with any sort of consistency. You are so right how much mental health plays a part. My stress since moving is so high I almost have a mental block, and being at work so early makes it hard to not always be exhausted (I used to workout before work, but I would have to wake up at 4 am to workout before work at this job). Hopefully I can figure out a way to get there.
❤ you are such a vibrant soul! Ever since I started following you on IG your energy and transparency were it for me. You deserve all the best. Thank you for being here and wanting the best for me, I will take those tips and apply as my mindset and habits have been going downhill and am trying my best to continue moving fwd and upward to find a balance. Thank you again. Love you Britt 🙌🌻🩷

Thanks for sharing! You always seem so full of energy and positive but it’s refreshing to hear that you are in fact a real person just like all of us that goes through shit but picks herself up and continues to grind! Also, I feel like you are looking the hottest you ever have! Whatever you’re doing is definitely working girlie!

I’m happy to hear that you are feeling more like yourself and that you got the help you needed for your mental health. I would love to see what your nutrition looks like.. I’m 8 months pp with twins and reeeeallyyyy struggling to drop the baby weight (plus a glorious c section shelf 😆)
