I really like the new features and the much needed cleaner look of the home page. However, I seriously CANNOT BELIEVE we did not get any sort of real text editor that allows us to shape text. Manipulating text is very basic for a program that wants to be called a design platform. I would REALLY hate to move to Kittle, because love Canva, but honestly this may do it. I was so hoping to finally get usable text features.

After playing around with the update for awhile now, I didn’t find it difficult to navigate around the new menu locations and set up. It’s like everything else. You just have to relearn where some items are. I find it more streamlined.
I was disappointed there were no updates at all for Canva websites it's almost like they launched them two years ago and then forgot about them as soon as they heard about AI. Very underwhelmed with the updates. Last year was so much better. This year is just all for Corporates and Teams and that is a VERY small % of Canva users. Getting a new layout was not a big deal the rest I won't use. Shame really. I put off my launch thinking something exciting was coming... Aw well maybe next year.

The UI has a bit reminiscent of Adobe Express. Except adobe has layers toolbar permanently open. And it is such a timesaver. If only Adobe Express has more Elements to use
What i need very much for my creation from CANVA is to bring the function : Add shadow effect to any object (not only the photo) but svg, elements etc.. Fotor has that feature and its a amazing how it can help improve graphics :) When will canva swith to this new design please?

Thanks, Ronnie, for keeping us all up to date. With all these awesome updates, I do wonder why Canva will not update their service to include the ability to choose our images as 300dpi. From what I understand, in order to change an image to 300dpi, you must go to a separate app (like PDF to JPG) to covert to 300dpi. Kittl offers this, and I’m hearing some designers commenting that they are considering to switch from Canva to Kittl since you can choose your resolution.
Hey there Cherrie. Good point, I think you are better off asking that question directly to Canva. As per switching to Kittl, sure if you think that one feature is a game changer.
3 big things i'd love them to add - A lasso with snap-to-fit feature for more precise cutting. I find BG remover will remove parts of my subject because the colour is similar to the background. Better transparency control - I make sports graphics, and it'd be great if I could control which parts of my subject is transparent, like being able to fade out an athletes legs More control over text. I'd like to stretch, add textures, or change perspectives of my text. Magic Morph and typecraft don't have my brand's font and they're not easy to use.
Shame the glow up hasn’t made it to the iPad. The white background would be very useful for black png’s with a transparent background. This is what stops me moving to Canva and also no shape text boxes and no connected text boxes.
I would definitely want to see a dedicated video on courses. Hopefully canva will build on this concept to be able to give an option to put a review quiz after watching a video, and the user can’t advance to the next section still a percent of answers are correct.
I really wish Canva would state the exact dimensions required for each mock-up image. The cropping tool is great but why not just let us design for the exact size?
I LOVE the recent updates. However, there is one feature that they are missing. I wish they would develop a way to connect text boxes with one another. I run a magazine. Currently, we find it so much easier to use Canva over Adobe InDesign. However, when it comes to laying out the mag design, it's difficult to connect the text of one box to another. With InDesign, we can connect several text boxes, arranging them throughout the design without compromising the copy. All text is written in just one box and it seamlessly pushes through to the rest whenever each box is full. We can't do this with Canva. Now, we risk so many typos because every text box must be filled and added separately. I would LOVE it if they all could fix this!
Im a realtor, id love you to go deeper into courses so I can teach some of my other team mates things I learned through out the week. Or id like to know how to make a couse or video to send to my buyers on how to buy a home in 2024, or a course for my sellers on how to list your home in 2024, etc... I can do on Loom but with the new upgrades like noice reduction and the editing tools Id like to see which one I like the best.

The biggest issue I have with the new canva is that when I am changing a color, and I go into the color picker and choose the eye dropper (which I use a lot), the boxes that open up are covering my design, often covering the part that I need to choose (the color). It doesn't give me the option to move the color selector boxes and I can't get to the section of my design that I need. So frustrating!
Yes, I did play with the zoom... No luck. Really frustrating. If the color you're trying to choose is from the middle to the left side of the design, no luck.
I have the premium plan but unfortunately I do not have the view of the left panel yet. Any advice to make it look that way? (Checked the updates and according to my computer the app is up to date)
Glad they added page breaks, why they didn't have that when they first launched is baffling. I tried it for the first time earlier this month and completed this 14 page annual report, only to find that i have had no way to control where my content showed up when downloaded as a PDF. I had to move everything over by copying and pasting to a letter format.
Canva rolled out the NEW Homepage & NEW Editor to a first batch of 1M users, they promised to unlock it for more users very soon. I'm not exactly sure when. Make sure to stay tuned, as I'll keep you guys informed!

I LOVE the recent updates. However, there is one feature that they are missing. I wish they would develop a way to connect text boxes with one another. I run a magazine. Currently, we find it so much easier to use Canva over Adobe InDesign. However, when it comes to laying out the mag design, it's difficult to connect the text of one box to another. With InDesign, we can connect several text boxes, arranging them throughout the design without compromising the copy. All text is written in just one box and it seamlessly pushes through to the rest whenever each box is full. We can't do this with Canva. Now, we risk so many typos because every text box must be filled and added separately. I would LOVE it if they all could fix this!

Im a realtor, id love you to go deeper into courses so I can teach some of my other team mates things I learned through out the week. Or id like to know how to make a couse or video to send to my buyers on how to buy a home in 2024, or a course for my sellers on how to list your home in 2024, etc... I can do on Loom but with the new upgrades like noice reduction and the editing tools Id like to see which one I like the best.

I can't tell a difference between Magic Grab, and just using BG Remover to accomplish the same thing. Is there something I'm missing?

The biggest issue I have with the new canva is that when I am changing a color, and I go into the color picker and choose the eye dropper (which I use a lot), the boxes that open up are covering my design, often covering the part that I need to choose (the color). It doesn't give me the option to move the color selector boxes and I can't get to the section of my design that I need. So frustrating!

Have you tried playing around with the Zoom level? Maybe that fixes the issue (temporarily).
Yes, I did play with the zoom... No luck. Really frustrating. If the color you're trying to choose is from the middle to the left side of the design, no luck.

Glad they added page breaks, why they didn't have that when they first launched is baffling. I tried it for the first time earlier this month and completed this 14 page annual report, only to find that i have had no way to control where my content showed up when downloaded as a PDF. I had to move everything over by copying and pasting to a letter format.

Had a question....i have a pro account that I had renewed back in Feb '24. I was watching your course and it mentions how you can have team members with PRO. But when i try to add my husband, it says I have to upgrade to TEAMS? Is that fairly new?
Right, Canva changed that recently.
Now their Pro plan is for individuals only and Team if you wish to add more people to work with you.

Hi Ronny. Great video....as a hollywood actor was told also one time....helps when you are likable too. Info is always very on point with humour. I see no option to update to the latest version on my dashboard or under settings so far though? I am a Pro user too. Is this a staggered rollout? One thing I hope they stay at the same pricepoint as they will just wipe the competition with how their constant improvements are going.

Some people sell their Canva templates on other platforms like Creative Market or Etsy. You could investigate that 🤔

Please help!!!! did they take away the color eye dropper to be able to grab a color from a photo? It uses to be in the color pallet and I can't find it anywhere. Please tell me they just hid it somewhere else!
The color picker is still there. Color button, “+” button to add a new color. It should be there 😊

To be able to go through a Course you’ve created, people need not only to have a Canva account, but also be in your Team.
