Hello, Most of the LGB locos use the Seuthe smoke generators and I have a few. The smoke fluid I use is the Mega Steam and it comes in different scents which is nice around the holidays with their Christmas Tree, Cinnamon, Root Beer, Pine and a whole bunch of other scents. They are a great little generator though.
Looks great! I have a few questions about the smoke units. Firstly, how many drops would you say to put in? Does it vary between different smoke units? Secondly, how long does each refill last? I'm just getting into putting smoke units in my models and have just purchased a seuthe 22 smoke unit. Thanks!
Thanks. 6-10 drops from the applicator it depends on the unit. If the voltage correct can smoke for 5 min. When apply to the 22 make sure to avoid air bubble.
DCCTRAIN thanks! Yeah I’ll have to get one of those applicators, do you know if it can be bought by itself or do you need to purchase a 10ml bottle of smoke fluid?
Hello, I've heard that the smoke generator goes up to 80°C and I'm quite afraid that it's going to melt my chimney, is it ok to use it with a plastic chimney? Great video! Love your channel!
Yes it will. There are different models of the generators, some of them safe for plastic bodies. Please check our online store www.dcctrain.com/shop/category.aspx?catid=301 if it is not in stoke, let us know we can get it.
Hey! Great Video. I do not have any Locos that have smoke yet but want to incorporate on my layout for fires. Which one of the Seuth you think might work best. Possibly hooking it up to some stationary decoder! Thanks for the cool video.
Thank you for this video. It is really great! Please, I have one question. Is it clean? I didn't want to smoke on my model railway, because it was dirty for my layout. But now, it is another system, is it clean smoke? Thank you.
Hello, I have a BR 78 507 from Märklin, the new model from 2021, and yesterday I installed the smoke generator (Märklin 72270). Immediately after the assembly, I put in the generator the right amount of smoke liquid with a syringe and the smoke generator started working, but it made a crackling sound, a loud crackle. I hypothesized there might be some air bubbles creating this effect, but the other times I started the generator (always trying to put the syringe needle at the bottom of the generator ampoule to avoid bubbles) there was this problem anyway. In all the videos I have seen with generators installed in Märklin models the generator was quiet, in my case its noise also covers the sounds of my digital locomotive. That's why I got a little worried. What do you think I can do to solve this? Try a dropper? Could there be some problem with the generator?
It looks like the generator has issue. They make some crackling sound in first 10 seconds, but after they usually make puffing sound. What is your Digital system?
It is possible but I don’t know how, if you do a quick search on UA-cam you can probably find a tutorial or something. A UA-camr called the train modeller has bachmann thomas and all his friends with this generator
If the smoke unit is connected to the track then, yes. It can be connected to the DCC decoder function output then can be controlled with the DCC system.
@@dcctrain Thanks I was just wondering I’ve recently gotten a prr s2 it’s the version with the two rectangle smokestacks and I was just thinking it would look better to have two smoke units
Mr. Crazy Russian, You say no one makes ho smoke unit with fan for ho scale in aftermarket. I have researched this and have come to the same conclusion. Broadway limited has one they use. Seems good ,but where do they get it?Is it their own make? Is it patented and this the reason why it is not made in aftermarket. I like Seuthe ,but they were designed way before the new dcc technology and to have them be controlled by a dcc decoder the current to operate them needs to be below 100MA hot operation.Any Ideas or maybe you know if one will be available to purchase that a Suethe can be used with?
All sync stuffs smoke generators are proprietary and patented. I'm not seeing in the future if somebody is coming with the unit because first is patent issues, second, there is no market for it, just my 2 cents.
You're wrong there dude, Seuthe smoke fluid works fine with every other smoke generator also. I know, because i have other brands also ! So kindly give the correct info !

Wow, and I thought re filling the smoke oil meant removing the body shell.
If not then I'm definatley considering having one of my locos smoke fitted.

Every Seuthe smoke unit has the applicator in the package with a small bottle of the smoke fluid.

hello i wanted to ask how do you clean engines that are coverd in smoke fluid
Hello, I'm not cleaning the engines I'm only using Seuthe smoke fluid, it is completely evaporates.
@@dcctrain oh alright thanks I just realized that the locomotives would become really greasy after using smoke😊
No problem, it depends on smoke flued manufacture.
@@dcctrain I use marklin I have videos of my marklin class 13 in my channel and it’s very greasy on the boiler
Are you uding Seuthe smoke fluid?
Hello, i am a little bit surprise. Here in Germany you must pay for the oil 5 Euro. And you must pay so much!!!! This is really strange

Question does that smoke unit works with Bachmann trains like Bachmann Edward and the others.
It depends on the model of the engine, must use Seuthe generators for plastic bodies.

To be honest it is more for steam locomotives.

Do you know any other good smoke units?@@dcctrain
Сколько капель необходимо( ответ из фильма бриллиантовая рука,достаточно одной таблетки )👍😀

5-10 min depends on the unit and voltage
So once you put in the smoke fluid it starts smoking that’s it?

this maybe a stupid question but will the smoke set off the smoke alarm that i have in my loft ..... thanks if anyone has the answer
Good question. I do not have any problem with this before.
thats good then thanks anyway
Could I put more then one in a locomotive
Sure, make sure the decoder outputs can handle 250 milliamps

@@markv3288 No difference except the shape for smaller diameter smokestacks of the locomotives.
which generatour should i use with marklin trains
Analog or Digital operation?
max digital
i mean mfx
Do marklin models work on normal track (Eg: Hornby, lima track)? Cause german steam locos look really nice
No, Marklin is using proprietary 3 rails system. ROCO has very nice German steam locos we are ROCO dealer.

can I put scented smoke in suethe generator?

KM1 and that works perfectly and doesn't leave oil on the loco. Try it and you'lle be surprised with the effect !
