Silly post. Grade 4 is where we learned about natural immunity, the concept of 'virus gonna virus', and taking care of yourself with exercise, healthy living and nutrition. Growing up with a sensible family helps too. But nah, over two years into this media hype & propaganda, let's just now...call this video a 'good topic'........this is a standard way of living for most sensible healthy people, and it's enough to fight off whatever new 'scawee-flu' pops up in the media. This shouldn't be a 'new topic'. This should be common knowledge.

Dr. John, I'm so happy you're starting this life saving and life changing series of videos. Here are some dietary tips which can help you along your journey.
Eliminate sugar (use Stevia, Monk fruit, Allulose, or Erithrytol - natural sugar substitutes) Keep your daily carb intake to below 50 grams, eat lots of veggies (especially the leafy green ones), fermented or pickled foods (sauerkraut, kemchi, kefir - great for adding the *_good bacteria_* in the gut), medium amounts of protein, good saturated fats & foods high in Omega-3 (avocado, eggs, olives, olive oil, sardines, salmon, cod-liver, herring, coconut oil - high in MCT) and nuts and berries.
Avoid seed oils (safflower, canola, vegetable, sunflower) - they are high in Omega-6 and often lead to inflammation of the body and they also damage the good bacteria in gut microbiome.
Exercise daily for about 30 minutes and include some weight resistance exercises in the regimen. Last but not least, get lots of sleep, at least 7-8 hours, daily. Oh, before I forget, include Intermittent fasting into your lifestyle. For optimum benefit, try fasting 20+ hours 6 -10 times per month.
By following the above dietary program and taking your daily vitamin supplements(D3, Zinc, K2) you will not only lose weight but your blood pressure and other important health markers will normalise.
Worked for me, I've been living and maintaining this dietary lifestyle for the past 3 years and it's the best I've ever felt in my life. 👍🏽

Wholeheartedly agree. Couldn't tell it better. I did everything from your list since a while:
      - Vit D3 + K3 (5000IU + 200mcg)
      - real food LCHF diet, including the fermented stuff and a bit of red wine, no n-6 PUFA
      - increased exercise
      - body parameter monitoring (smart watch, cerascreen tests, CGM, 8-electrode BIA scale, blood tests... )
      - Time-restricted feeding (or do you say eating if it is in humans?)
      The effects on my health:
      - Lost 15 kg, BMI of 24 with 16% BF, started with >25% BF, still falling
      - Have a aerobic capacity of an average guy 20 yrs younger, I'm in the highest decentile for my age and gender now
      - Get rid of allergic chronic bronchitis (never smoker) for 2 years now
      - Reduced upper airway infections from estimated 15...20 weeks/year of sickness (I went to work coughing, once gave even an international conference talk with an acute laryngitis) for the last 20 years to 1 week/year in the last 2 years, that includes my relatively mild covid case
      - Ameliorated saisonal hay fever
      - Get rid of gout attacks
      - Get rid of skin inflamation and neurodermitic excema
      - Get rid of NAFLD, the hepatic transaminases are fine now.
      - HDL-C doubled from a very low to a decent value
      - Triglycerides went down to a quarter from a highly dangerous high to about 100 mg
      - Went from Framingham offspring study very high risk to low risk for heart attack
      - Improved glycemic control, no blood sugar spikes at all
      - Feel better than 20 years ago
      - Now I wear jeans where the waist number is 2" smaller than the leg length number + superslim dress shirts
Just as I write this I realize how poor my health must have been. If you would have asked me 5 years ago I would have said: "I'm fine".
No, I obviously was not. I just wasn't more sick than the average man of my age.
      All improved with lifestyle...
      (I'm in my mid-50ies now)

Last March after a sever nose bleed made me go to A&E I discovered my blood pressure was ‘ a bit high’ , hardly surprising as I was at least 70lbs/32kg over weight. ( 57 year old post menopausal tired/exhausted unhappy & stuck )
It was the shock I needed to motivate me into actually taking care of myself.
Fast forward 14 months a completely new way of eating & living has transformed every part of my life. I shifted the 70lbs in approximately 9-10 months. Consuming only 20grams of carbohydrates per day which came mostly from cruciferous veg. The rest came from real meat/fish & dairy - nothing processed at all. I started off with only 2 big meals a day & absolutely no snacking, my blood pressure was normal within 2 weeks.
It’s been a journey to new health. One that I have no intention of stopping.
Im so glad you are doing this investigation as I have been discovering so much the last year.
It has seemed screamingly obvious that if we improve the nations health then the nhs wouldn’t need to brace so hard with the next thing that happens along 😉
Our own immunity is our responsibility.
Other benefits I encountered in no particular order
    Mental health improved massively ✅
    Alertness improved ✅
Physical ability and endurance improved off the chart ✅
    Aches & pains gone ✅

When we go for a yearly medical visit it tells you very little about your health . It gives just one moment in time of ones health . How can you determine your blood pressure from one test once a year and prescribe medication . It makes no sense . We need to get more testing at home in your normal environment . We have come a long way with that and this study shows that . You will feel so much better with the proper diet for you . Glad you are on this path and glad you are promoting it

It was lower than I expected, but I was on the 4th day of a smoothie fast, and that lowered my BP. On a bad day some doctor would probably prescribe medication. That's the case with a lot of diagnoses. Our hearing and vision varies as well. I wonder if some people get prescription glasses because for whatever reason their vision was blurry that day. Prescription glasses have side effects as well by straining the eyes from what I understand. The eye strain can lead to stronger prescriptions. I wonder how many kids got prescription eyeglasses when they didn't really need them back in the '60's and '70's when I was in school. Eyeglasses are usually for life. $$$ Also, eyesight can be corrected in many cases with eye exercises because it has to do with the eye muscle coordination I think. I will be 61 this year, drug free and super healthy. For the past 10 years I have studied food. My last trip to the doctor (to prove as an un mRNA jabbed person that I wasn't the problem) my doctor asked me for advice on their own health issues. For the past 30+ years, food science has been creating foods that are seriously deplete in nutrients and full of bad things. When someone advises me about health I am always curious about their own knowledge on the natural version of the subject, and I find they know little. Health has a habit of showing itself. Love your direction. Avoid all sweet things, vegetable oil, processed foods, bread, and fruit juice. This is a good place to start.

    • @soeasyaccounting
      @soeasyaccounting 2 роки тому +1

@@thesouluniversal These are two tricky items. They are both high in sugar and will affect insulin which you want to avoid. 2 dates contain 27 grams of sugar and 1 tablespoon of honey contains 17 grams. They are both low in fiber so again not good. These two ingredients are used to create sweetness and this means you maintain your desire for sugar. They are both exceptional good from the point of view of other nutrition. So if it was going to be a daily habit to consume these items, you are still going to be focusing on a 'sweet' diet and this is what you want to avoid. So in summary: Learn to like drinks without sweetness and if you are going to use these items as sweeteners, keep it to the minimum. After 1-3 months you no longer crave sweet things and this is the goal for good health and long life.

I hope you feel well soon, love. Depression somehow made me want unhealthy food, but I managed to get back to a better diet by reading a book called 'Gut' by Dr Giulia Enders. So well written I could read it through the depression fog. The book, and then reading the Van Tulleken Doctors investigation into highly processed food on health. A month on 5-2 or 6-1 eating made so much improvement. I kept to a healthy balance of meat and dairy, with lots of fresh vegetables and fruit. Only wholemeal bread and not much. No pasta or rice. Take care love.

From my own personal experience with weight and health issues, I've found the best way to go is the low-carb ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting works extremely well. The biggest hurdle is the transition from carbs to ketone bodies. The first 3 days can feel like a really bad hangover. The second hurdle is trying to reprogram ones habit of being carb addicted. I find my cravings for bread, pasta, rice, potato etc. can be challenging, but if you stick it out for a few weeks, and don't cave in by eating high-carb foods, the cravings subside. I was able to lose 40kgs (115kg down to 75kgs), and normalize my blood pressure and blood sugar. As far as exercise, I just go for a brisk walk for 60 - 100 mins everyday. No gym required.

This is encouraging to see. I have become a weekly viewer of Dr. Campbell, picking through his different daily talks, they have been a great asset. What is positive, is to hear a different perspective on diet, microbiome, and health. I started to study my own, without all the bells and whistles but with, competent knowledge of microbiology. I was diagnosed with and Through diet, exercise, and an increase in positive gut flora; I have been able to reverse damage done to my liver, from alcohol. The wild part was that, my diseases, had become bad enough that I was put into a Convalescent Hospital, without hope of regaining full function; I wasn't walking at that time. I lost a 6 month period of memory. When I came to my right mind. I had created an alternate reality. One I could accept. Mentally accept, apposed to knowingly being moved from hospital to hospital. When sharing my life with my family, I was asked, "How long do you think you have been in this hospital?" I said, "I don't know, about a year and a half." Again, my Father told me, it had been a recent event; I had been in Convalescents just 5 months. At that point, I started to exercise, control what part of my diet I could, teach myself to walk and write again. The writing part was wild. Starting off, I was writing some words backwards and random letters upside down. Scary part is, I was never offered therapy, even when I asked for it. The Convalescent Home, I was in was for HOSPICE patients. They expected me to die. Correcting my digestive biomass became a focus, for me, to heal my Liver. No need for expensive pills, in my case. That being said, I did follow my doctors recommendations for medication to control seizures, that where symptomatic of how advanced my disease had become. As well as, doctor prescribed medication to improve levels of magnesium and potassium in my blood. This was and is a very important part of my improvement seeing how important they are to nerve function. I did not try to dismiss all medical suggestions all though I had to question some of what was actually doing more harm than good. I did not have the luxury of having a doctor that was interested in healing, only hired to keep a warm body alive. Positive digestive biomass is important for all yet my belief is that it is essential to curing issues related to the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and intestines. The functions, of which, further effect the functioning of the Brain and Nervous System, that in turn control the Heart and Lunges. There is more, all though, to wrap it up, THIS is the REAL thing. All you need is the knowledge, know how, and the will to focus on your gut biomass, exercise and drink water.

I used to get debilitating low blood sugar about 4 hours after eating carbs. Then I discovered keto which I've been doing for a couple of years or so, and it is so freeing. I never get those horrible dips anymore, don't have to remember to eat something to stave them off, and never feel hungry. Oh, I lost 95lbs into the bargain and no longer suffer with heartburn. I've also given up alcohol, gluten, and I'm vegetarian. My blood glucose, BP and cholesterol are all in normal range. Still more weight to lose as it's slowed down over time, but will get there one day. It's not a quick fix, it's a lifestyle change.

That is just reactive hypoglycemia. totally manageable and not dibilitating. I used to get it too. You want to eat complex carbs, not simple carbs. You can cut them down, and don't eat so much. You also want to eat again sooner than 4 hours. If you know you are not going to be able to eat for more than 4 hours, eat a protein rich meal. I haven't had reactive hypo in years. I also don't eat breakfast. Haven't in 20 years. I have coffee or tea (i'm on 100% decaf now!), WITH almond milk, cream and a tbsp or so of flavored creamer. If I have too much sugar or carbs I have to eat within 3 hours or I crash. But I limit it and have no issues.

@@Kristinapedia Yours might not have been debilitating. I was a mess, sweating profusely, shaking, with a feeling of my head being stuffed with cottonwool. It totally knocked me for six and I had no energy for hours afterwards. My then husband was type 1 diabetic and I used his glucose monitor, and my blood glucose was in the 2s. No, I wouldn't go in a coma like a diabetic would, but it really was very unpleasant and something I don't miss at all.
I stopped eating breakfast, as I found toast or cereal would trigger a hypo if I didn't eat something like a banana mid morning. But when following a restricted calorie controlled diet, every calorie counts, and I hated having to use them on snacks between meals. Keto suits me perfectly. I don't get hypos, I'm not fixated on food and calories and never feel hungry. I can go about my day never having to carry snacks or glucose in my pocket, and can eat whenever it suits me.

In 2008 I was diagnosed with type two diabetes with an A1C of 6.8. Under 5.7 is considered non-diabetic. My doctor- not known for being warm and fuzzy- I’ll never forget- said “This is NOT your fault. It is 150% genetic. But what happens now is up to you.” He put me on a strict low carb diet of two meals a day- no sugar, grains, or starches, plenty of meat, fat and low starch veggies and a few berries and all my numbers improved to the point I was considered non-diabetic. I consider myself insulin resistant and continue eating only about 30-40 grams of carbs a day. Some people are vegetarians and eat almost all carbs. Everyone must find what is right for their body but I’m a firm proponent of low carb. And I mean low.

You're well ahead of me then, I've only just got the inoculant for Kefir after John mentioned it. Before that by about a week I went down the natto rabbit hole on my own and have concluded that western information is a tad bit tainted. For three decades I've heard about the low prostrate cancer rates of asians and how that was attributed to the high soybean intake in their foods. No surprise then to watch the tofu craze come and go at about that same time frame and then one little blurb on how the japanese use a smaller soybean than the massive USA version to whit the "good" in the smaller, more flavorful japanese soybean has had all the good bred right out of it by the time it gets over here in the states and all the tofu you can eat isn't doing the same good it does over there. Then my own bout of prostrate cancer which I have survived and am now in the every 3 month PSA blood draw phase waiting for levels to return to normal again. Finally I learn just recently about natto which is a fermented soybean that just happens to be the national breakfast of japan and it's made from kotsubu soybeans which are available from laura soybeans which is a family farming business tending to specialized soybean offerings direct to the general public here in the USA. Got the beans and the inoculant both, but have yet to fire up a batch. Rich in K2 because it's fermented into what is called natto - THIS could be the reason prostrate cancer is so low over there, they have it for breakfast daily too. It's a culture thing and that doesn't translate very well because our culture just doesn't do stringy beans on rice for breakfast. That is in fact almost inconceivable, no wonder I've never heard about it before. Talk about a probiotic though, high temperature fungus gone amok amongst the beans, it's bound to do good things to the gut biome. Can't wait to try some waffles made from Kefir "buttermilk" too.

I've been making attempts to improve my own health and microbiome since around last November. I was significantly overweight but since then I've lost most of the excess fat, around 45 lbs I think. I feel better and more awake, energetic, resilient over all, etc. I made some big changes which were I stopped snacking (because it triggers insulin spikes) and started eating 2 large meals per day, and I incorporated more green veggies and fats and less carbs and sugars into my diet. I also minimized gluten because my gut was always bloating when I had wheat, but recently I've noticed my sensitivity to wheat has greatly diminished from what it used to be, which is probably due to changes in my gut. Within a month of starting all this, I found myself disliking sugar and most sweet desserts or drinks and genuinely loving and craving healthier foods more. I might have a muffin once in a while or something similar but that's about as sweet as I can enjoy without my body rejecting it. Nearly all desserts you can buy are way too sweet for me to enjoy now but there are a lot more foods I love now than what I've lost. When I go to bed, I maintain a dry fast until I eat my first meal around 2pm. You would think this would kill my ability to function in the morning (which was true at first), but I find myself quite capable and energetic even in the mornings now.
I'll be following this series closely to see how your experiments go and to learn from it and compare with my own experiences. I'd be interested in participating to this study myself but definitely don't have the free time these days. Good luck!

@Boxing Truth Sugar isn't really poison and cancer; however, our body shouldn't be relying on carbs as a primary energy source. Carbs are naturally present and fine to consume in many different places, but the body is designed to run on fats first. Sugar in ridiculous doses such as sodas and many desserts are what's actually poison. As for many other carbs like grains, the main issue is how they're grown in literal poison and the particular strain that we use. There are a lot more factors to cancer than the consumption of sugars but I'm sure most people would be shocked at how they feel after cutting out 85% or more of their sugars.

I’m really interested in this. I’ve used a lower carb (not keto) diet to reduce my autoimmune problems. That and gluten-free really help. I’ll be wondering what the data shows.

I would go the quicker route. Just do meat only. Look at Ferrigno Freedom. He has an incredible testimony of the benefits of a lion diet.

Keto and carnivore type diets destroy your gut.
I had rocketing diarrhea for months after keto and I've heard countless anecdotes from others who say the same.
The lack of fiber is not good for us.

Thank you for covering this topic. I had gestational diabetes when pregnant with my now 14 w/o, despite being a healthy weight and having dieted/exercises for years. I always considered myself to follow a healthy diet 80/20. The diabetes diet advice the NHS provided me with was appalling. I did some research myself and read all about gut health, cleaned up my diet and have never felt better. I continued to workout 3x a week and was able to manage GD through diet alone. It’s crazy how much crap, full of sugar is sold to us that I totally bought into cause it’s “high in protein”. I weaned myself from sugar and now, I do have it, I experience a burning sensation in my mouth from the sugar! I am 11 lbs lighter than my pre pregnancy weight without even trying. Everyone should be educated on this topic!

Doc, thanks for doing this. I'm motivated to check my own bloodwork using this device. I've been on the Keto diet since 2017, and I'm no longer pre-diabetic, and I'm 40 lbs. lighter. I avoid sugar and most carbs. I do eat vegetables but avoid fruit. I always wondered if certain foods are kicking me out of ketosis, so I'm going to check this out. Thanks again.

I made this video sharing how I put my type 2 into reverse and lost 50lbs in weight too. A definite side effect of lowering my carb intake. All carbs turn to sugar and diabetics are basically sugar intollerent. The less sugar the better.
45 minutes and 79 slides showing my journey which I hope will help others. Pitched towards those newly diagnosed to give hope at what is a very worrying time. It includes lots of useful information.

I think there are lots of ways most of us can make good changes. I have never been overweight, but a few months ago I felt heavier on my feet than I wanted to be. I am a former dancer so I know moving should not feel like backpacking. Anyway, I juts modified a couple things and dropped 12 pounds and am at a normal weight for me.
With all due respect to Dr. Spector, his diet regimen, IMO, is about eating to live (as opposed to living to eat). His daily intake as presented in one of his videos impresses me as fairly tasteless with the high points being sour. That sort of diet impresses me of something that could be put into a blender with a liquid and then swallowed quickly, just to get the ordeal of a meal over with as fast as possible while doing other things.
Dr. Campbell: There are some interesting videos available on YT about Native Americans, Puebloans, reverting to the indigenous diet to correct metabolic illnesses. That diet is much more interesting and spiritually fulfilling than Dr. Spector's daily intake.
Me personally...I am East European and Russian Jewish. Indigenous peoples are only a few generations removed from indigenous diets. God knows how we of European descent have evolved over a couple thousand years.

I went to a naturopath / (+ regular practice) in Sydney 20 years ago - the first excersise i had to do was monitor my pulse / blood sugar / Urine PH/ food + water intake, sleep etc etc nd record it all for
7 weeks - to study myself & how my boday responds to food, excerise slepp etc & how that relates to your overall affects physiological state - every child should do this excersie in PRIMARY school ... ie . - learn to take responsibility for your own health.
The first thing i observed from pricking my self 5 times a day was the spike i blood sugar after eating say PASTA .... one of my favorite foods at the time ... i then also observed the ridculous increase in pulse about 2 hours later it would go from 60 to 80 + while resting !!!
In summary - you really respond to health when you see it in action, as opposed to reading in a book or being simple told by your GP ....
