It depends on your update channel. Are you on the current channel or some other one ? If the option doesn't appear in the options dialog, you haven't received the new feature yet. It's your db an mdb or an accdb?
The only hope that I can see that we have is if we want to stick with VBA is that twinBasic will become a replacement with hopefully an affordable cost. It is too costly for my needs at this time but maybe in the future that will change.
In my opinion, the best option is to migrate to proper Web development technologies (.net, php, blazor, ...). Microsoft is slowly phasing out VBA (Outlook is just the first IMHO), desktop apps, how long will Access continue to be viable in it's current state? I think this current situation demonstrates a serious managerial issue, a fundamental lack of understanding of what people were asking for and a complete lack of internal QA! It's sad to keep seeing Access get degraded rather than upgraded.
Thanks for the warning. I guess I don't know what I don't know! I use Access plane jane out of the box, so I am very glad for the warning not to install this "upgrade"!
I came across it on one customer site. Yes, it's bloody slow. Thanks for showing me how to disable it. I fully agree that it is not ready for prime time. Such a disappointment.
I'm using 365 and don't have Monaco SQL editor. I've tried to enable it, but can't seem to

Sadly, when office updates you will have it appear one day.
I'm just hoping they fix this mess, fast!

Let's just hope with enough time Microsoft can make it work as it should!
