I too came to university in Glasgow from a foreign country. ( England ). Other than those who lived at home, and commuted to uni, most people I knew went into halls in their first year, and then in second and subsequent years, they found flatshares with other students. Reasons being... finding their feet in a new town/city. And also, for most this was the first time away properly away from home, looking after themselves, being forced to assume even a small degree of personal responsibility. and, of course to learn new things. For example, I learned that Tennents lager was utterly disgusting after about a pint and a half, and that McEwans Heavy was the way to go.
Well, that's how it was for me 50 years ago in Glasgow !.

Nice video. My nephew just got admission yesterday as a new undergraduate and missed the accommodations application deadline of July 14th.
Now the university of Glasgow announced the following: “We regret that we are no longer able to provide guaranteed accommodation for anyone who has not already received confirmation of University Accommodation. We are also highlighting that the city has limited private let or private sector purpose-built accommodation available.”
Now we are trying to get accommodation in order to enroll. Wonder if you happen to know any available accommodation? Thanks a lot.

As a Glasgow University student I'd strongly advise studying here as lectures keep being cancelled at the last minute. You get no warning whatsoever. You certainly don't get an apology. When I complained I was threatened with exclusion. Although students are not receiving a service they had paid for, i.e. tuition, the university still expects students to pay tuition fees in full. If you don't they threaten you with expulsion. This on top of the lockdown, when the university threatened us with arrest and exclusion if we left our rooms. This university is useless. It is also very bullying. It is a total waste of money. My advice - if you want to be North of the Border, go somewhere else. There's plenty of better universities in Scotland, which treat students reasonably.
Any chance the cancelled lectures are to do with the teachers strikes? You really come across as a typical glasgow uni wanker
