Thanks for posting this! I saw him do solo performances several times during the '70s. They were always mesmerising, almost ethereal. Strangely, I found Parker's music very accessible, but not so that of Derek Bailey who was sometimes on the same bill. Only recently have I began to enjoy Bailey's music, largely because of hiis collaborations with the great Bill Laswell.
Mr.Parker played the Roulette NYC mar 2019. Tenor only with Mat Shipp piano and Paul Lytton drums. 75 yrs in age and played AMAZING. 2009 saw him with George Lewis trombone/electronics Evan played tenor and soprano. An amazing evening. The Man is nothing short of a genius.
@@KAZVorpal pehaps I don't call this music cacophony ... I wouldn't call this relaxing, but understand the reason why one can find it relaxing - I find it beautiful and therefore very stimulating (the opposite of relaxing) - but it has an hypnotic quality someone can find relaxing.
Nice to hear Parker on soprano. Even though his musical conception on tenor and soprano is basically the same, there are qualities here you don’t get from his tenor playing.
I'm never getting the aux again
I got his autograph on this LP record.
It was when I saw his solo performance in Japan in 1980 in the front row.
It was a very exciting time.
Great memory.

Evan is an alien...A sonic wizzard...Like it,or not,he is one of the most contemporary saxophone players of all time...

Very relaxing.
You definitely aren't talking about the first minute of the first track.
@@KAZVorpal why not? :)
@@emilianoturazzi Perhaps you find atonal cacophony relaxing.
Grew up in the New York megalopolis, sleeping with the window open?

This is one of the greatest recordings of E.P. EVER! ❤️
Exquisite. Mystical. Sublime. Pushing continuous breathing technique from the Middle East to the max.

And, of course, thanks for sharing this.
So audacious. I love it.
I discovered this album a few years ago. I listened to all of it in two sittings transfixed. Haven't listened since, until right now.
