You got me motivated to pick up on my restoration project that I had put off for the last 10 years. I'm picking up lq4 with 4l80 complete set up of off 04 savanna this weekend. I had watched most of your videos and I have to say I'm impressed by your step by step instructions you had provided. Keep up grate work. It's insane how easy is to smoke a sports cars with a pile of junk by just fallowing your detailed instructions :)
Nice I likey . Went to pick up a parts 4.8 the other day here in Vancouver , Canadaland . The guy was like have you checked out sloppy mechanics , he's just did a 4.8 build . You are an international celebrity now lol
I tell everyone who is into cars at all that they should be watching this channel. I have no idea how Sloppy remains to be like the best kept secret of UA-cam. This is legitimately one of the top 5 car channels, easily.
I would love to see you pick up a cheap Tahoe/suburban and turbo that similarly to what you have done with this one. From start to finish I think it would be a cool thing to build.
It will be interesting how much power is lost and how the curve changes. When you dyno it again sir can you post a over lay of no exhaust and exhaust. I do remember seeing someone test s evo and around 600hp peak 3in lost power. I can't remember though if the gate was open or routed back in. Nice work sir! By the way!
Interested in hearing about how the Stock ECU is setup up when all is said and done. I know nothing about stock ecu stuff but I hear you talk about adding NB O2 sensors, and having lean spots you manually have to correct, etc etc. Different that just setting a Holley or MS3 to a target A/F and then adjusting the fuel map for the corrections you see in the logs.
The annoying part about having a v8 turbo with a decent street exhaust hanging off it is lining up against a noisy-ass big block/four banger with 4" dumps at the track and wondering if your own car is actually running... Or maybe I just need a tach.
I felt the same way when I sold a motorcycle that had loud pipes and bought a bike with stock pipes(and almost 3 times the power). Fuck all that noise, it gives me a headache and draws too much attention.
You'll do fine, you may lose a bit but not a ton. My buddy made 690 at the wheels in his 2JZ powered Lexus with a 3" exhaust that went all the way to the rear bumper.
if it loses anything just go 3-3.5 at vband with bullet and muffler . be little louder ,more work and money but bet doesn't lose anything ..... love all your testing
Dude, love this ish. When you say 14 and 14 on pump gas, are you saying in general 14lbs of boost and 14degrees of timing are usually good numbers for a combo like this ie magic? Thanks!
decided to put turbo on my LQ4 malibu, I just bought the hooker cast iron turbo manifolds, fitech throttle body power adder 1200, how much boost would be safe on factory ring gaps?, motor been in car a year really dont want to pull it. also have the chevy LS3 CNC heads on it, comp cam
Your not running a MAF in that set up are you? Just 3 bar MAP? Wanted to know because I'm in the process of boosting my rig. Thanks for the response in advance.
Never seen a resonator that far upstream in the exhaust. Will it survive up there? What about an intake filter? Test of boost with and without that too?
Heads up, i melted my primary O2's having them installed pre-turbo. U don't want that shit going into the turbine wheel. If ur gonna run them, go post turbo with them.
i have never done that, but i have heard pressurized backside can tear up 02s. we have done a few builds keeping them in the pressurized side and downpipe without issues.
this is an easy one and i am happy to reply with a simple answer, the gauges i am using are powered, and fuction off the obd2 port, currently while tuning and logging i have the obd2 port in use connected to my hptuners cable and laptop, so, the cluster is inactive and not powered.
Oh that thing being so quite makes me have the biggest smile. Perfect sleeper. Can't way to do that on my foxbody

I know man every time I see a sports car that's 10 years old or newer all I see is a huge waste of money. You can go way faster for way less money!
if that's what you see I truly feel sorry for you.
Do it man! Do it!
You are humble and wise enuff to listen but know more than most know it alls...

+dilsher12 hahaha
+Sloppy Mechanics I'm just around Vancouver as well!
I tell everyone who is into cars at all that they should be watching this channel. I have no idea how Sloppy remains to be like the best kept secret of UA-cam. This is legitimately one of the top 5 car channels, easily.
Yeah baby!
Hope you feel better pal!
Sounds good Matt, the older I get the more quiet I like street cars.
Awesome that it seems you're not losing significant power! This makes it more sleeper-ey.
Miss the 747 taking off :) I’m guessing that’s what open dump sounds like.
I would love to see you pick up a cheap Tahoe/suburban and turbo that similarly to what you have done with this one. From start to finish I think it would be a cool thing to build.
We like them "phuckin raunchy"
After a hard days work, I like to come home throw on sloppy mechanics newest video and butt chug a zima. Keep up the good work matt
dude! they started reselling those around here i had some at a friends bbq lol
Love it .
That's a sleeper. Awesome
I turned right on red without stopping once, big fine and lots of points, here in Pa.
Now you got you a sleeper truck !!
Wow that exhaust doesn't look half bad Matt!
i know i did ok! imagine if i ground down all the welds and painted it woooo
Hell yeah, increasing sleeper status!
Love it👍👍
Your my idol👍
Damn nice exhaust man!!!

Congratulations on the baby Matt!
Kids are totally awesome!
New page: The sloppy Father :)
Love the vids dude!
Project don't BS Me is now Project "Sneaky Snake".. I love quiet power!
Good bye big Larry!
lol

lol, i know those feels
congrats on the kiddo on the way.
thanks i am really excited

sorry to be that guy but when we going to see track time? cant wait to see what it runs.
soon, i have alot going on but i think ill be ready to make a pass sometime soon and actually go

A proper sleeper now - you can sneak up on people and then blow them into the weeds!!!
Goodbye big Larry
Recirc that bov too for full stealth ;)
Shop truck, the silent killer.. :)
I'm a street truck! \'-'/ Wait... shit, I actually might be a street truck... :0
My big Larry just took a shit too 😭
What happened to the turbo whistle???
Dude, love this ish. When you say 14 and 14 on pump gas, are you saying in general 14lbs of boost and 14degrees of timing are usually good numbers for a combo like this ie magic? Thanks!
yeah meaning peak timing at boost and high rpm, everything below that rpm is less
Cool, thank you!@@SloppyMechanics
any plans on attempting to pass emissions with a cat, since some of us do not have the option to do this?
Sleeper pickup.

any chance of a before vs after drive by vid??
It's so weird not hearing the turbo
I actually found that it was more weird that now I can hear the BOV.
Your not running a MAF in that set up are you? Just 3 bar MAP? Wanted to know because I'm in the process of boosting my rig. Thanks for the response in advance.
correct, on my truck it is speed density, no maf, just map
You the man! Following your set up. Just subscribed.
matt when you do these rolling 2nd gear burn outs do you have shitty old street tires on or drag radials?
30 inch tall street tires, my mickey pro's would absolutely hook up with 3800lbs and 500whp
Next add a high flow cat. Prove you can still make big power and not smell like the MCM guys did with their turbo h6.
That's so fuckin cool
If it kills 50 who the hell cares, full exhaust is so cool, But I always liked the hood and fender exit applications a little bit more
Are you still going to do the cutout?
+crisray6789 yes I plan to re do a lot of this stuff and try all avenues
Never seen a resonator that far upstream in the exhaust. Will it survive up there?
What about an intake filter? Test of boost with and without that too?
+Thor Dehr they're both basically the same thing perforated strait through mufflers
Sloppy Mechanics, I know. Still curious to both.
what's easier to do for an LS swap in an S10, convert an automatic to manual, or keep auto and program/wire the ECU?
+DeFreshS10 usually leaving it stock auto is easiest
I have another question. If I get an LT1, they offer the 4l70E or the 8L90E. Would the newer automatic with the 8spd be worth it?
So far I love your channel, but I fucking hate turbos!! Nice update to the trucky!!
its bromantic.
Sonofabitch. Love that exhaust solution with the wastegate, simple and functional as fuck. I'll be stealing that...
Dude! How did you pass up the chance to add dual 10" stacks to the bed?
_Insert sad kitten meme here with "I am disappoint"._

Wait so now it doesn't sound like it's cammed up?
You heard a stock Silverado lately? It still sounds like its cammed...
Idle clip from the outside please :)
i see now people are asking so i will!
is it really quiet Matt? Ha Ha!
*YELLING*
ITS SO FUCKING QUIET
Sloppy Mechanics lol! love your videos. you're a real hoot.
Why is your geages not lighting up didn't see theam in the dark...
this is an easy one and i am happy to reply with a simple answer, the gauges i am using are powered, and fuction off the obd2 port, currently while tuning and logging i have the obd2 port in use connected to my hptuners cable and laptop, so, the cluster is inactive and not powered.
Where's the idle clip???
ill do one soon outside and walk around, from like 30ft away and then in and around
Why not 3.5" or 4"?
expensive, hard to fit, had this stuff laying around other than some bends i got for 30 dollars, like it so far
could a 6.0 with 13.5:1 compression ratio make 550wheel on 91?
