    In Part 1, we showed what fabrics are needed to make a floating front canvas for a bespoke suit coat or jacket, and how to cut and mark them. Here, we show how to sew these fabrics together by machine to make a front canvas that sits beautifully in your garment. In Part 3 of this series, we'll show you how to stitch the canvas by hand.

    I occaisionally make my canvases just like this, generally only for my own jackets, for other people I always use hand stitches, I find the machine can sometimes "kill" the canvas a little bit, but it's still super effective.

      Nooo. Shoulder darta are made only on canvas and other reinforcement material for creating natural roll on shoulder to the sleeve side

    This is a wonderful idea! Those white stitches are supposed to be pulled out after the jacket is done, right?

    • @ryanledoux366
      @ryanledoux366 4 роки тому +3

      The white zig zag stitches in this video are on the canvas only, not on the outside fabric. So they won't be removed, you won't see them underneath the outer fabric

    Quick question, what happens to the cuts made in the horsehair and bias canvas in the shoulder area? Are they eventually sewn down with bias tape too?

    • @biasbespoke
      @biasbespoke  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! It's not necessary to sew the cuts in the horsehair and bias canvas. We want them to be free to flex so that the canvas can shape best to the body as it's worn.

    The cuts in the horse hair and hymo. Are they for flexibility in that area in the finished garment?

      Yes, the flexibility that the cuts add helps the garment be more comfortable to wear.

    • @IansGoalieDad
      @IansGoalieDad 4 роки тому

      Vadim Kachioni it is the interfacing for the suit. It goes under the actual suit fabric. It’s pad stitched (I assume not 100% sure) to the actual suit fabric. It gives it more body than just the suit fabric.

    • @zipastewards1906
      @zipastewards1906 4 роки тому

      @@IansGoalieDad I get that you attach it to the suit front by pad stitching the lapel but then how does the rest of the canvas stay onto the suit front?

    • @IansGoalieDad
      @IansGoalieDad 4 роки тому

      Zipa stewards it’s a pad stitch. You sew it so you pick up just a stitch or two and you don’t go all the way through. Lookup pad stitch on UA-cam. Also you baste the canvas to the suit which helps keep it in place while you pad stitch it.
