I got MacBook Air 8 GB/512 GB and am generally very happy with it. It is very fast and I didn't have any problem with software. I edited this video on my channel with Final Cut Pro X with no lags and exported in less than 2 mins I think. Like ten times faster than what I'd have with my buddy MBA 2014 4 GB/250:) The only downside is the battery life that is just not as stunning on my device as I expected it to be. It might be high expectations. I was thinking it'll work for 12-15 hours, but I barely get 10, and it's only for not heavy browsing (I do have several add on apps like Toggle Alfred, Magnet, Yoink that are constantly running - so maybe that's the reason). Other than that, it is true that it's not that this laptop feels fast, but all other laptops feel pretty slow now:) Hope you pick the best option for you!
