This also explains why the bible has no condemnation of pedophilia as well. Infact women or really young girls being raped back then wasn't a crime in of itself because who cares about the victim's feelings, no it was considered a *property crime* against the fathers of whomever was raped because children were considered not as human beings but property. What is even more fucked up is that often the rapists themselves were to marry the victims whom they could continue to rape for the rest of their lives, having no voice, just *human property* to be sold or traded.

"Atheists don't commit crime for fear of getting caught" um, theists don't commit crimes for fear of getting in trouble from sky daddy. Isn't that self interest?
"You don't want to kill someone because it is illegal and you will be punished for it whereas we are completely different. We don't murder because we will be punished forever in hell..."
Tom: "I feel like I'm morally superior, but I can't back it up, because morality is a social construct based on subjective interpretation" So you're just full of it? "Yeah..."

Funny thing about hope... a lot of people forget the moral of Pandora's Box is that hope was in the box of evils to begin with, it's an evil that does more damage by staying IN the box
I continue to find it amusing that evangelicals like Wrong Tom here, YECs, and Flerfs tend to use the same general strategy: _Can't prove their claim is true, so they try to prove reality false._
I just appreciate how this guy is kind enough to tell me what kind of person I am. It confirms what I've thought of theists. Judgemental and high on the vapors of their own flatulence. And dead freaking wrong...
My favorite questions ever about Morality. "Is it wrong to break into a building to steal something" Yes. Now add context. "Is it wrong to break into a building to steal a defibrillator to save someone's life?" Well now that's a bit more complicated. Morality is never intrinsic, nor objective by default. It is all dependent on context. Another great question being "If lying is wrong, than should the people hiding Jewish refugees from Nazi's in World War 2 have spoken up?"
It's crazy that so many of these types don't intrinsically think a lot of things that are bad are truly morally bad if god tells them it's good. Like the only reason a lot of religious folks "do good" is because they think it'll get them into heaven, not necessarily because they think it's intrinsically the "right thing to do".
So he's saying that the only thing keeping him from killing and stealing is his fear of hell or hope for heaven. That if he suddenly realized good didn't exist he would go on a rampage? Sounds like he might be psychotic
Or serial killers or other forms of victimizers can just ask for forgiveness to a sky daddy and be good to go but the victims... Well, they're just fucked.

I would love to see the script flipped on Mr. Brown's video. Especially the morality part. You could point out how theists should find child murder repugnant, but will defend it when God commands it to be performed. Cause objectivity.
The projection from this guy is amazing. He actually well described the confusion evangelical christians have over morals vs ethics, but then claims it's athiests who have this confusion. It's really bizarre.

He cleaned her, shared his food with her and always kept an eye on her so she never got lost or hurt. How completely selfish, sharing his food and home with an unrelated outsider, right? It's funny how the bible thumpers insist only humans can be moral and selfless when they're more greedy and myopic than most non-human animals I've had the pleasure of knowing. I never understood the whole "atheists prioritize self-preservation! therefore them's evil!" assertion. In the Chrimbian worldview, the ultimate goal is to get into heaven (and possibly avoid annihilation/hell), is it not? So even within the Chrimbian world view, despite this tool's assertion that it's the atheists who are unique in their selfishness due to prioritizing self-preservation, self-preservation is prioritized in the Chrimbian worldview as well. Except their self-preservation is focused upon the hitherto unproven "life after death", rather than the actual life we have before us.
Addendum... It's like as if the Chrimbian is saying "You guys are selfish for wanting a car, which will make your lives easier by easing travel time! You should be selfless like me, I just want a time machine in order to change the past so that it favors my life!"

lol. Hey Sic, I have some qualifiers (weasel words) around it but I do claim I know there is no god or gods. I even have an argument for it based on ontological parasitism. Love the video!!!
We can't know for certain that there are no gods whatsoever. But we can know that the abrahamic god doesn't exist. Because he just has way too many conflicting and mutually exclusive properties. And also we have been able to falsify literally every single falsifiable aspect of the holy scriptures which are the only thing that even suggests he exists. Like TECHNICALLY you can't prove that Darth Vader doesn't exist. But if you know he comes from a fictional story, does stuff that can't be done in reality and you know who made that story up... do you really have to disprove that Darth Vader exists to conclude that he doesn't? No. It's the same here. We know that god has properties that can't exist, we know that every single claim in the bible we can test, both scientifically as well as historically is absolute bullshit, and we have a general idea of it being a fantasy novel written several hundred years after the fact. The bible is as historically accurate as the Fate series. Inspired by real events maybe, but still bogus. So yes, we can know that at least the god postulated in the bible, does not exist.

"Killing people is always wrong. You could get the death penalty."
An argument made without a trace of irony.
I feel like the whole anti abortion and the fact that religious states lack of enforcement against rape is to remove the need to be nice to people to create more offspring.
jesus...
George Carlin: How come the people who are against abortion are people you wouldn't fuck in the first place!
And then those children are brainwashed with religious mythology, so that when they grow up, they can continue the cycle of evil.

Funny thing about hope... a lot of people forget the moral of Pandora's Box is that hope was in the box of evils to begin with, it's an evil that does more damage by staying IN the box
I continue to find it amusing that evangelicals like Wrong Tom here, YECs, and Flerfs tend to use the same general strategy:
_Can't prove their claim is true, so they try to prove reality false._
All together now: we’re the self preserve society, the self preserve society.

My favorite questions ever about Morality.
"Is it wrong to break into a building to steal something"
Yes. Now add context.
"Is it wrong to break into a building to steal a defibrillator to save someone's life?"
Well now that's a bit more complicated.
Morality is never intrinsic, nor objective by default. It is all dependent on context.
Another great question being
"If lying is wrong, than should the people hiding Jewish refugees from Nazi's in World War 2 have spoken up?"
It's crazy that so many of these types don't intrinsically think a lot of things that are bad are truly morally bad if god tells them it's good. Like the only reason a lot of religious folks "do good" is because they think it'll get them into heaven, not necessarily because they think it's intrinsically the "right thing to do".
I learned to point to my fingers with my nose. Now I can count to more than 5. Yesterday I got to a whopping 7!!

Don't you just love it when other people who don't even know you tell you what you believe? It's how I get all my beliefs.
...good people can behave well and bad people can do evil; but for good people to do evil - that takes religion.

"If they really believe we're highly-evolved animals" No, everything's just as evolved as us, they just evolved differently from us.
Something tells me that the concept of moral behavior evolving as an evolutionary advantage for a social species has never occurred to Tom, and explaining that to him would be challenging.

The atheist code, is this like the pirate code?🤔🤫☠️
kinda
'S more of a loose guideline, really...
Between the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition, I decided that if there is a God, He/She ain't the Christian God. It's almost like Tom doesn't know the history of his religion!

What bothers me here is that, by his own account, we have someone here lecturing us on morality who has to take direction - from an invisible incompetent narcissistic sadist, no less - to prevent him from going around harming other people.
Ah yes, the merciful god who has in his own scriptures (allegedly), a body count of 2.8 million dead and a 227,307% higher count than satan
Who did satan kill in the scriptures? I don't recall satan killing anyone (not just because there is no entity named satan in the original texts.) You could argue Job's family but that still is on god because god is the one who allowed it, with full ability to prevent it.

SHONK
