As much as I like the dedication in this video. I must also point to one important fact. 100% professional mechanic disapprove this method. The Petroleum jelly is skin-friendly no doubt but they severely degrade rubber and neoprene material. Somewhere on UA-cam I remember someone applying copious amount of Vaseline on Rubber gasket around the door rims it ended up with hate comments and shock by those who watched it. Petroleum products causes permanent damage to rubber although you may not see the harm in the very instant. So please do not use petroleum jelly on any I mean absolutely any rubber component. Be it in a car, apparel belt, or even in non-automobile applications too. If you so wish to lubricate rubber there is something called silicone lubricant. Although I wouldn't take the liberty to smear it all over, it's slightly less damaging than petroleum jelly. Occasionally mechanics have used them on on less critical rubber parts. Again most rubber parts on automobiles are wear items and not designed to be used over their life span through lubrication. They degrade as they age and should be replaced in time also because it's cheap too. Never try to save pennies by lubing these wear and tear items with household products. They can cause catastrophic results when you are least expecting. if you want the longest life on Wiper blades get silicone wiper blades. They last 3 years even under harsh sunlight condition. They leave no streaks and don't deform or harden by heat. Rest of the wipers no matter even from top brands like Gabriel or Bosch, just replace every 6 months if you live in rainy/dusty areas or once a year if you live in moderate area with less dust and harsh sunlight.
