Thirty-six years ago today I acquired the LP "Music Madness From The Kinetic Kid." I know it sounds cliche, but it truly changed my life. I had completed high school the day prior and was college-bound that summer. On Halloween of that year I was able to snag the singles Don't Care, Too Kool To Kalypso, and Away From Home. Since then we got "Yo Ho Ho" in the nineties and so it looks like we get a new song every few decades. It has been a massive joy ride these past three and half-plus decades, and so this return made by the one and only Kinetic Kid himself is long, LONG, overdue. I can only hope that this song is the start of perhaps another Klark Kent album. Great job!
holy sh!t, i LOVE x 1000 that he's doing this!!!!!!!!!! as bonus trax for a remastered Kollected Works??? And including demos from the old days, with unheard bits like the fabled unreleased songs "solid wall" and "law and order," or early "tarazi dreams" that became "away from home"??????!?!?!?!?!?
A re-issued Kollected Works would be good because I wasn't ecstatic about the first one. Don't get me wrong; loved having all of those vinyl songs on CD, I just wasn't happy with the production of the additional tracks. "Stay Ready," "Strange Things Happen," and "Love Lessons" were more SC songs than KK; two of them even appeared on Gizmodrome. I have a 12-inch out-of-print single to "Love Lessons" by "Colts" which was so much better than the version released on Kollected Works. I get that KW was a low-budget project, but it could have been much better produced and released. It should have been 100% Kent without Derek Holt. SC should have put out an EP with Holt to include Love Lessons and "In Trouble Again" from the Droids cartoon in the 80's they did the soundtrack to. So yeah, I would be up for a re-released Klark Kent box set complete with booklet, pictures, rare tracks, new tracks, the whole damn lot of it! Come on, Klark/ we' LOVE to see it!
