It was around 1984 for me. I always wanted to do what my big brother was doing. He was part of a Lowrider car club down in South Florida (Homestead) and it grew on me from there. I used to take my matchbox/hot wheels cars apart and mimic what I saw in real cars. I am still heavily into it to this very day.

I got into cars because of my father buying different cars and trucks from the auction. I couldn't wait until I got old enough to go to an auction and buy my first car and I did at 15, with my father's help. Lowriders came into my life when I seen Boyz in the Hood and I was in love. I also remember watching Dr.Dre" Ain't nuthing but a G thang" video. It's been my system ever since.

Old Ice Cube video today was a good day he had a green six four with gold Sparkles drop top he hit three wheel motion as he bent the corner I knew then I had to have one no matter what. Got sidetracked from actual low-riding went through the phases of 20 and 24 on 26s it's time to do what I always dream three-wheel every corner every Sunday

My first custom car was also a 1993 Thunderbird. It had 15" player wire wheels on low pros. Banging trunk! It also had A TV in the steering wheel and a chandelier that had color changing lights in it. Super ghetto but I loved it.

*The 1995 September issue of Lowrider Magazine was my introduction when I was a kid, then I seen the Red's Joker 63 Impala and fell in love with 63 Chevy Impalas!!, built a candy red lowrider bike with my father that i still have, and have three 1963 Impalas now. Had to take a 15 year break from lowriders but I'm back at it now!* ✊

Now that's true dedication you imported a classic Impala to build you do you have any videos on that would love to see that you know Asians in Japan have some of the nicest cars I heard of people going to certain auctions on the web where they have a lot of repoed cars from criminals drug dealers Etc cars that have been confiscated for sale on the internet that's how a Japanese friend of mine said most of them get them

When I was around 5 or so my dad took me out crusing and he let me hit the first switch and from there on I was hooked as I got older he made me clean his ride everytime before we went crusing and from there on I got more and more into it from cleaning the car to hitting a switch to crusing to just looking at lowriders it's just became a passion of mine. Now that I'm 17 I got my el co project and working on it so has been passed down from my dad and the passion for it has grow even bigger. And one day I hope to ride with the club and him. That's my story, my dad has been a huge inspiration for getting me into cars and lowriding.

Back in 95 I purchased my first lowrider magazine, and got hooked. Now have tons of issues. Started out building lowrider bikes before I could drive, also drew Lowrider Arte. First lowrider car was a 89 Ford LTD. Did 4 more LTD’s until I got my 90 Towncar. Now working on a Mazda B2200 with my 11 year old daughter. Hopefully she can carry on the love of lowriding.

For me it was a different kind of lowrider... the Mini Truck! And it all started when I was in third grade and my brother came home from San Diego with a brand new slammed 1986 Nissan SE5. That was the coolest thing ever! My first lowered truck was an ‘85 Chevy S-10 extended cab all blacked out.

My dad is a car painter and ive always been around lowriders, lifted blazers slammed 1500s and back in the 90s he bought his and hers 74 caprice convertibles for him and my mom, by then he had built two 74 caprice hardtops. To make a long story short my dad went a way for a while and my mom only had the primered raggie to take me and my 3 sisters and brother to school in and the car didn't have a top but we still packed in it everyday and drove it rain or show with no top!!! I didn't give a shit what anyone thought I loved it. About 2 years ago I got my first 75 caprice rag and I'm building it now and it's just like old times when I drive it around the neighborhood with no top on it but just like back then, I still don't give a shit what anyone thinks about it cuz within the next 2 years it's gonna be a showstopper for sure.

I've been into cars since I could talk. I got into lowriders the first time big brother came home in one I was 11. Got in and it went and back down. I was in love. I grew up about a mile the most popular cruising Street in the world Crenshaw Blvd. Los Angeles CA. He took me for my first ride and I had to have one. There's so much more to my story you don't have time to read it.

Man, I would have to say going to Chicano Park on sundays was my first time exposed to lowrider when I was 9. After that I was hooked went to my fist super show when I was 14 in San Antonio at the Freeman Coliseum. I got a job at 15 at a burger joint and built my first euro lowrider at 16. Candy royal blue wirh flakes and crazy patterns. Had the loud sound system and hydraulics all 4 corners. I use to 3 wheel that lil car like crazy. Thats was in 1995.

I remember the exact moment when I figure it out lowriders with the coolest fucking shit ever. It was probably 1997 or 98 I was around 15 years old. I had a job as a dishwasher at a little place in town and so I had a little bit of money and I would always buy PlayStation games or magazines specifically car magazines. I would always buy performance style magazines or hot rod magazines because that's what my dad had that's what my dad was into. Well one day I just randomly picked up a Lowrider magazine and I remember riding in my sisters 87 5th Ave and opening up this magazine and seeing gold plated rotors and crushed velvet Interiors you know some real 90 shit and thinking this shits unbelievable. shit is the coolest shit ever. it is that exact moment it clicked and i rember it like it was yesterday. This was an excellent topic and a great video sir. Whatever happened to the Thunderbird you had and a second gen Taurus looks pretty good laying on the ground. I seen a blue one a while back on Lay It Low and it look good

Awesome story. I was probably pre 10 years when I got into cars. Driving in town one day I saw an old car asked my dad he said it was a 63 impala. From that day my life changed and I was a car guy. I’ve owned hydraulics but never installed I have a bagged s10 blazer that doesn’t run. And someday I would like to get the 63ss up and running my dream car.

Also there used to be wrestler when I was little his name was Eddie Guerrero and he used to drive lowriders up to the ring and that’s one of the reasons I got hooked on lowriders.

Shit i got stories and stories and im only 20 , i was born into it didnt just one day think it was cool its always been a way of life for me i have pictures at 2 months old holding my dads switch box in his 66 gold caprice on mcleans and 520’s , and my mom had a daily gray 85 buick regal on triple gold daytons that i was always in when she would bump “backyard boogie” , my uncle was into bombs (30’-40’s chevys ) but i never really got into it i just loved the sound of the hydros and the feel of it when my pops would hit the switch . So by the age of 10 i was determined to get me one , noone ever handed me down anything unlike alot of kids now a days , got me a 96 towncar today with pinstriping, silver leafing, patterned tops and sides , crosslace 72’ zeniths , 2 prohopper pumps 6 batteries, and i know its not an impala or a g-body , yes its just a towncar but i worked really hard to get it and I really appreciate it alot more and learned alot more , i cherish the damn car like its my child , took some time , money !! And frustration but shes where she’s supposed to be , had her for almost 3 years and not hating or anything but i trust driving this car more then an impala just saying lol only because my first experience driving a 65 an the damn brakes went out on me lol , its better to work for your shit you’ll appreciate it more , i treat the damn car like its a rare ass gem , one love to all them lowriders ! 🤘🏼

Prices on 64 impalas are all over the place. One that isn't totally rusted gone can go anywhere from 5-10 grand depending on the shape and options. SS is usually a little more of course. But I would say minimum have 5 grand ready. You might get lucky and find one a little cheaper.

I remember exactly when I got into lowriders. when I was about 8 or 9 I saw a st. ides commercial on t.v. with a black 63 impala hopping and I was like "whoa". I was hooked. next was on a school trip in 94 I saw my first copy of lowrider magazine and that sealed the deal with me.
