I can't believe nobody commented here....You are an incredibly talented artist....all the "objects" on that wall look amazing! Thanks for posting this, now I want to do this on one of my paintings, lol.

During the early 80's I was asked to do Vietnam War paintings for Veterans or/and their families. I would asked them to bring any and all the gear, like photos they had. I live in Australia (I'm a Yank art teacher here after 9 years US Army) ... I had the art director call me in Sydney as she was shocked to realize that the "painted Image" of masking tape was real tape??? seems they actually try to lift it. After that , she considered i was a genius ... LOL

That’s a wonderful story 👍 I’ve had people stand next to a painting with blue tape in it and they’ve tried blowing the object to see if if it moves 😂

@@richardhall3589 Great ... it means you are doing fantastic work. I met an art teacher at college in the late 60's who brought in a Trompe l'oeil piece. He was the guy who showed me it was a great way to make a living and working in such detail, plus I did wok for Paasche Airbrush Co back then, so I brush painted by blocking in my backgrounds and then used the airbrush for tight detail... Be safe...

I'm wondering how you get that glossy finish on the black ground and your other painted items. It looks like an aged patina of finishes I remember from 50 years ago.

    What colors did you mix?

When I mix the color I put a piece of tape on the palette and mix the various colors together until I get a match - the colors I used are a mix of titanium white, cerulean blue, ultramarine blue and occasionally a tiny bit of pink just to fine tune
If you have the tape sample on your palette it really helps to make it match - hope that helps 👍
