Checking in after the Celtics game. Man, imagine if this had been a Ron Holland's first 26 games discussion. In all seriousness, a few things: 1) 80% from the line right now after 26 games is actually about 2% above league average for Small Forwards. 2) After shaking off some rookie jitters, he's actually been shooting 35% from 3 in his last 10 games, and I think both he and the coaching staff don't want to run away from trying to get more comfortable shooting from outside. In fact, it's not just his 3-point shooting, he's been at 64% true shooting in that 10 game stretch as well. 3) I can occasionally see some rough shots inside the paint, but for the most part, he's actually been excellent. He's at 62.8% inside the paint on the season, which would place him in the top 15 just below Giannis, Onyeka Okongwu, and Santi Aldama if he averaged 20 minutes per game. And he's not even really a dunk merchant, as he has a lot of tough finishes, which suggests that his paint efficiency will get even scarier as he gets bigger and stronger. I think you can see that, particularly in recent games, he's really trying to score and not just throw BS shots up. I think that forces defenders to attack him even harder, which leads to him getting a better whistle than a lot of our players. Great discussion fellas, I look forward to more videos!
