Never heard of tightening by the nut would move the axle.

Put a rag on the chain and turn it into the sprocket so it puts some tension and keeps it from sliding forward when you tighten it down, and get an O-ring chain you don't have to clean them only have to put gear oil on every 500 miles they last about 15 to 20k miles and you never have to adjust the chain, when you do have to start adjusting them you know it's time to replace👍🏼 I never noticed any loss of power with one either
