There's always somebody before time of course but Usher has been very influential and his record is much cleaner than Bobby Browns and R Kelly I think it's safe to say lol. And he's founded a couple artists like Just Bieber of course he has that on his resume
Nobody "did" anything, everything stemmed from whatever preceded it. That being said, as far the current urban lane of R&B/Hip-hop...it comes under as Usher's legacy.
what do you mean ?, music shifts and it's not like he has being very active. he comfortably makes music these day's but everyone knows he is a living legend
what do you mean ?, music shifts and it's not like he has being very active. he comfortably makes music these day's but everyone knows he is a living legend
music definitely DOES SHIFT...let the young people enjoy their time like we did...either adapt or play that 90's music ...I will say we treated chicks betta off our 90s shit....we'd make a slow tape and get em moist not by choice ...REAL TALK...these cats don't lay em down off some banging Chris Brown lol...
They dont appreciate him because they all look to Chris Brown as the rnb legend that set the standards. Thats funny...last time i checked Usher had a full career way before "Run It" ever had a radio spin.
He is a legend period. No other R&B male artist of today can top that or match his success in his career. The fact that Confessions sold 20mil speaks for itself
I don't appreciate how these guys are talking to Usher like he is some new artist! Usher is an Icon he has nothing to prove. No one will ever touch "Confessions" no one will ever touch "8701" and no one will ever touch "My Way".
it's just one way that people profess their endearment towards whatever art it is. i think most times it doesn't mean "touching" the art with tangible records and accolades, rather just it's significance to the culture or to that person. Kind of like how "no one will ever touch Thriller".
"Is Usher Appreciated?" Usher is LEGEND it is nothing left for him to prove. The fact that he is still relevant shows he is more than appreciated. It is a lot of R&B Dudes from the 90's who was around with Usher that we no longer see or hear from anymore
Usher still got it? He never lost it. The culture loves to place time limits on artists when in reality no other genre does that and hence why their artists can continue to make money into old age
Exactly! After 35 they expect u too lose all u ever done. Forget age cap and time limits when talent can last forever and accolades should always mean something to the culture.
Crazy thing is that back in the day you didn't really get your career started until you were around 30 if you were a male. After the 60's they created the teenage consumer to get more money out of their parents and began to market to kids. Even when Usher was at his peak, 106 & Park was still marketing to people mid 20's to early 30's. Now everything is marketed to kids, with 35 year olds calling themselves "young" and "lil." I remember when Beyoncé finally announced she was 30 (she was probably closer to 35 in non Hollywood years). But the industry has made artists so homogenous and interchangeable that their shelf life is 6 months or less. The consumers that grew up in this era (23 & under) are used to laptop music that went directly to UA-cam. People brag about making their album in 1 week and the consumer who has been conditioned to expect less give it a pass as long as they interview well or have a mean social media game.
I hate old heads keep saying the new generation don't respect or know usher. I was born in 94 but still remember the summer when confessions was out you couldn't turn on the radio without hearing a usher single c'mon son
I was born in 94 too so I definitely remember Usher in his prime and before of course but there is some truth tho. Some people in our generation don't appreciate Usher and what he has done in the industry. I feel he's underrated and overlooked compare to his contemporaries.
Im from 96 and even I remember how the confession singles were all over the radio. But the sad thing is that the album is 12 years old now and in all that time he hasnt released an album thats at least half as remarkable.
Yeah, anytime I reminisce about his Confessions cd, damn near everyone I know remembers who they were with at that point in life and how they felt. That album definitely brings back nostalgia... If I could rewind time.
He needs to be appreciated more. 8701 since he hasn't missed. All hits. That's why the star on Hollywood walk a fame make sense, that's a big look. Dude is lowkey our Michael Jackson. Im 23 so i grew up with him. Big ups to him. Im glad yall did this. Thank you usher. living legend.
Anthony Bullock clearly you don't understand the music BUSINESS. And for the record, he hasn't wrote all of his material but he was alot more involved in the creative process than people think.
I really like that Usher tries different sounds but still keeps the music undoubtedly R&B. I also enjoy that he is very concerned about the society we are in...I love well-rounded artists.
As much as people love Confessions, I truly think his best record is Climax. Such an underrated track, and that's saying something because he went no.1 for 11 weeks and won him a Grammy.
He's an old head w a young heart and body.. he's into 70's,James Brown, Marvin Gaye all that sorta not trendy current stuff. But he dips into whatever is hot..EDM, Pop now Afrobeats
+Marc NY Lemonade ? lol Confessions is Usher's THRILLER. Lemonade will never have the same impact as Confessions had, she didn't even write any of the songs on top of that. lol

Great interview!!!! Usher is very intelligent, talented, and handsome.I can see why a lot of women are drawn to him.He has a calm and charismatic demeanor. Love him or hate him. Usher is an R&B legend.
besides 8701, confessions my fav album was RAYMOND VS RAYMOND! Played it out and bought it again!!! much respect to the Legend who was one of the few to dance a long side Micahel jackson!
I went to Essence festival last year and Usher hands down was the best show of the evening. The stage presence, the stance, all of that is a part of it all and these artists just wondering up and down the stage with no direction at all and Usher had the cleanest story telling show. very little complaint. . . he does a great job!
Congrats to Usher for his Walk of Fame star! He is a living legend. He has nothing left to prove in the music industry but I appreciate him mentoring up incoming R&B artist. I have been a fan since the mid 90s. And on a personal note, I appreciate him for representing Atlanta to the fullest. We see him all the time at the strip clubs in the city lol but he a cool brother. Continued blessings my G!
Usher is someone who I don't love as much as I once did and I don't check for his music. BUT I will ALWAYS have this level of love and respect for him what he has achieved. "Confessions" is still to this day one of my favorite albums... And he damn near reached Michael Jackson status with it.. And I remember the excitement I had leading up to the Truth tour, watching him perform and even after I went to school on Monday and like half the school went too and were STILL super excited. Not everyone can evoke that emotion
Usher is an international superstar....makes great music no matter the genre...VERY underrated top 10 Greatest entertainers of all time...Top 3 R&B of all time....

I have all of Usher CDs, my top 3 is Looking for myself, Usher first album, and Here I Stand, then Raymond vs. Raymond to be honest or 8701. Here I stand is super amazing great ballads and uptempo. I feel for Usher at this time because he became a family which is fine with me, he still my dream hubby....lol and I knew he couldn't stay single and childless forever.
Damn i love this dude... Usher a legend and will always be one of the best R&B Artist (if not the best) till this day.. That's Confession Album is the bomb.. Damn...We need another type of record.. Looks good too..
I love Usher. A consummate entertainer and artist that's been real since '94. And I like that he doesn't down the current generation but actually teaches out to them to collab. He could be a snob about his success but he's actually generous. A testament to his success.
I LOVE the new album Usher! I can honestly say I can sit down and listen to the whole album! I pre-ordered the album on iTunes and then bought the physical copy at BestBuy. Usher is a true talented artist and a real triple threat. I respect his mind, talent, and influences. Usher and Michael Jackson are my two favorite male artist! This album is really back to the legit R&B and Trap Soul!!! So thank you so much Usher for giving us fans some old Usher....I loved it! Now, I can't wait to see the TOUR that is hopefully to come w/ this amazing album! Hard II Love is another Usher classic :) #TeamUsher ....
Usher is a legend in the game, that's indisputable, My Way, 8701 and Confessions are classics in the R&B genre. His later albums didn't recreate the same magic, but have provided some great singles. Regardless, his body of work is full of quality if not quantity. Since the 90s, R&B has had only a hand full of legends and he is definitely one of them.
Man I grew up with Usher's music. I was in the 6th grade when "just call me the mack" came out. I think that was the title but it was for the Boomerang soundtrack. I grew up with music from Brandy, Aaliyah and Monica. They were all around the same age and Usher is still here making and selling records. I'm Very proud him. I have an old CD of this group that he was apart of before he became solo. I'm thinking he started out as early as 11 years old. This man has been consistent and has longevity.
I think she was right...it's so many services and paying for 7 streaming services is stupid..when they all do the same thing. not fair to the consumer.
Nothing wrong with her not having Tidal I guess but why pay for one and not the other if you're willing to pay for a streaming service in the first place.
usher is one the greatest. I love when he song gone too soon by Michael at his funeral. but my favorite favorite song by usher is hear I stand. he up there with beyonce
Usher fathered all these R&B dudes he made it cool to be an R&B artist around hip hop
No, jodeci did. TF?
+Raquelle-Jessica Morales really it was kaycee and jojo

8701 was solid too. I'll make that his third best album.
+Tamara LeeAnn i go confessions then 8701 then my way. all classics

yessssss. EVERY song was crazy

8701 and confessions was the ish
It's crazy how he is the only 90s R&B male artist still this relevant and still making hits.
You can argue with he ain't selling records either!
Michael Walker exactly. He just had a double platinum record 2 years ago
hmmmm I'm thinking....
Double platinum is about what Beyonce is selling, but its not Adele like numbers!!!
Um r Kelly
I don't appreciate how these guys are talking to Usher like he is some new artist! Usher is an Icon he has nothing to prove. No one will ever touch "Confessions" no one will ever touch "8701" and no one will ever touch "My Way".
ok...I recall my grandpa listening to usher first tape...cassette tape that is...he is our generation of icons

Yes I appreciate usher he love black women
i love that too!
His music videos says otherwise
@@immerbeach5477 every video he had had a beautiful darkskin woman as the leading lady…
@@immerbeach5477 go watch yeah, lemme see, all the videos with chilli, confessions pt 2 and so much more..
Envy & Charlamagne: "Yee doesn't support black businesses"
Envy & Charlamagne: "Regina Hall, I'm not going to see your new movie."
Hunnit!
Lol Tidal isn't even a black owned business. Only a few black people with a 3% stake in the company is not "black owned".
I agree with you smh black people dont know iiissshhhh about business.....
exactly lol
Regina Halls movie is owned by a white studio
He had his time but still remain King of R&B, that's what y'all need to understand.
He is not the King of R&B tho. That title belongs to either R Kelly or Stevie Wonder
Kells is the real KING but Usher is a legend
Stevie is the King of R&B
usher is FOREVER FINE!!!
OMG! HE NEVER AGES
Great man! Fantastic new music. Been a fan since his beginning. Congrats, USHER!
He always gives really good interviews. Very professional.
Poetic Justice not boomerang lol
Usher is a legend!
So we not gon say nothing about Charlemagne's hat...
Gucci bucket hat. Lol there u go
he wore that hat last year as well
I hate when he wears that hat. Lol!!!
gives me the Mary j vibe lol
they were really gonna comment the whole video without mentioning his hat #shameful
I ♥️Usher!!!! He is a living LEGEND. My favorite song by him is "The Many Way"
HE NEED DONKEY OF THE DAY FOR THAT HAT !!!
who
+Tia Wessells charlamagne
Margaretha Falco u funny but u telling the truth
Angela yee started it off weird
She's right, all that she had to say was that she don't care about that trash. I don't like digital music services anyway.
I think she was right...it's so many services and paying for 7 streaming services is stupid..when they all do the same thing. not fair to the consumer.
and kept that vibe throughout, being thirsty and bringing up other people's business. no wonder most people don't pay her attention
Nothing wrong with her not having Tidal I guess but why pay for one and not the other if you're willing to pay for a streaming service in the first place.
Yee is always kinda weird, I still smash tho lol
I'll always love Usher...
Like someone said...Yee always has a friend
I was born in '92 and Usher and Ginuwine were my two favs! Everybody know Usher is a legend
