it's okay to be fans of the retired members ( astel encourages it bc he doesn't want people to forget the hard word they put into holostars) and you can talk about them if the streamers talk about them first. the graduated members were all on good terms with the graduated ones but suddenly talking about them would put a lot of pressure on the streamers and could accidentally be an invasion of their privacy. this was a lot of fun though! thank you for the holostars reaction!!
Same with Aloe on the other side. The girls bring her up. And that's cool. But technically, you shouldn't mention any other streamer in chat according to the rules lol.
Holostars boys are criminally underrated. They have started gaining popularity thanks to overseas viewership, however. The video mentions that there was only one talent from Holostars with a 3D model, and that would be Rikka. That is until our winning son Roberu also got one not so long ago. Despite the rigging being a bit scuffed, the model itself looks really good, and Roberu's 3D debut was quite the sight to behold, I'd recommend watching some highlights from it :D Astel has also just hit 100k subs, so maybe in the future he'll get his 3D model too. Time will tell. The thing with the boys being not as popular as the girls is mainly because of idol culture in Japan, and considering Hololive as a whole is trying to maintain its idol-esque image, this also means that the girls rarely collab with the boys. The few exceptions that actually do would be Fubuki (she mainly collabs with Oga), Matsuri, or the whole Indonesian branch (Ollie loves playing with Astel, so much so that they developed a Big Brother-Little Sister dynamic between each other). Sora also talked with Roberu on one of his call-in streams.
Talking about retired members when the members themselves brought up their name(s) is totally fine, but if they were brought up by chat with no reason, that's where people will have problems.
Kaoru and Kira were both male, and they were very fun, people miss them a lot. And yes, whenever Roberu laughs I laugh too. Another thing is that all of the boys have different talents and skills, which makes them tons of fun. Astel is very good with FPS games, especially Apex, Oga plays a lot of retro games, Temma likes horror games, Roberu is very social and funny, and Shien is a good voice actor.
If I may add to that, Arupapa is very good at DIY stuff, and he shows deep interests in his kaigai niki (oversea fans). He learns about memes, etc. in his streams. He also gets bullied (endearingly) a lot by other members. Miyabi is cute and very soothing, but he's actually pretty freaky as well. I mean he created imaginary creatures and could be ruthless while playing games. Rikka, he's just a forgetful airhead who sings and write songs very well. He's also supposed to be a peace-loving, pure-hearted android. But last night's Among Us collabs crushed my belief in him 😭😭 Miyabi and Temma needs more exposure I think. Their channels have the lowest subs compared to other members. Holostars are seriously underrated...
For the retirement/graduation thing. The characters are owned by cover and so even if they still are vtubers elsewhere, it's as someone else, so you will never get official word on what they are doing after they leave. Kaoru left for personal reasons, and kira left due to health issues. And yes bring up graduated members just brings drama and is a distraction especially because active members can't talk to much about it
To give a bit more info on Kaoru, that particular rumor was already denied by the parties involved. It was spread by the Japanese vtuber equivalent of Keemstar, a guy who loves to spread rumors to create drama. Whatever the reason Kaoru left is something no one knows.
I love seeing people react to Oga's hight because i have an irl friend who is literally the same hight as him lol. But yeah, the holostars are great! Don't let this video fool you, all of them are insane, even Miyabi. Some things the video mised that I feel should be mentioned: - It was touched on a tiny bit, but miyabi likes drawing! His illustrations tend to come out looking kinda demonic tho, he calls them his pets and says they're residents of the "Hanasaki forest", a terrifying thought. - Arurandis (aka Aru-papa) does a lot of english slang streams/variants of them were chat teaches him about different toys or shows or stories that are common overseas. They're really fun to participate in! - Rikka has a show on his channel called "RiTunes Labbo" were he sings and plays guitar with other vtubers, it's really fun! - Not overly important, but Astel's crazy design is because he's an Alien, hence the nickname "Space Seaweed" - More importantly, Astel is a complete crackhead. he often does insanely long streams (8+ hours), lots of unarchived kareoke (with a lot of Disney, hence the disney prince nickname and why the streams are unarchived), and an unpredictable sleep and stream schedule. He once claimed to be "the most normal in Holostars" but we shut that down asap lol. - Astel also declared that he was going to be giving us one cover song every month and so far all of them have been great! - Roberu is the meme boi of the group, as his "winning son" meme (and others) really boosted everyone up in views and subs. He kinda recently got his 3d debut and it was glorious. The furthest on the "comedian" end of the boys, tho his singing voice is also great and it's only been improving. -Kinda just a funny story, but Shien's twitter was suspended back when he first made it. He had set his birth year to 2020 despite management telling him not to and was therefore locked out of tweeting for a good 3 weeks before it could get fixed. Because of this he couldn't announce what his Oshi mark/designated emoji was and fans, capitalizing on the whole "birth year is in 2020" thing, started calling him the 0 year old mafia boss and used a baby bottle as his Oshi mark. It stuck and sometimes people still use it for him today. -Oga's chat are the biggest simps, and oga enables them every time. That kiss clip wasn't the least of the bs he pulls on a regular basis. One time he and Shien role played a whole BL scene using voice tweets out of the blue.
Yupe, Oga is really tall xD It's hilarious seeing Fubuki next to him in collabs (one of the few Hololive girls who actualy collabed with Holostars). Also, Kaoru and Kira are dudes. Edit : Oh yeah, if you want a quick laugh (couples minutes clip to watch on your own), look up Shien's cover of Guren no yumiya from Attack on Titan, it is... something. VERY SOMETHING. Nobody expected that and it's the best thing xD
First of all, thank you for such a thoughtful reaction! I appreciate the pauses for commenting, and I'm glad you are enjoying them :) - Oshi marks are basically emojis that represent their characters. There are times where you can use the marks in chat. For example, when they do singing streams, viewers can spam the emojis in chat as if they're cheering for the vtubers. However, the rules do vary and some of them (like Izuru) don't like emoji spams (aside from clapping when he finishes a song) so we have to be careful. - Like how other comments have pointed out, we shouldn't mention retired members unless the active members bring them up first. Also, FYI: Suzaku and Kaoru's archives are (unfortunately) not available anymore and there aren't many clips of them around but Kira's archives are still available on his channel :) - Another reason for why Astel is called "Disney Prince" is that he often does singing streams (which tend to go on for at least 3-4 hours) where he sings Disney songs. His streams that have Disney songs are never archived bc of copyright reasons so they are considered "urban legend" by some people. - If you want to know the origin of Roberu's "Winning Son", I suggest watching a clip titled "[EngSub] Are you winning, son? 【Pikamee/Roberu】" by the channel VOMS_clip - Shien and Oga looks edgy but they're actually really dorky and nice, which I think is neat XD BTW "Babudon" is a group name that Shien and Roberu use when they collab together.
First of all, I get what you mean by you vibe with them as a guy. It really just feels like hanging around with your best friends and doing funny guy things. That's partly why Holostars has more male fans than female fans, actually. Also, I do appreciate the pausing. Some reactors don't pause and it makes the reaction seem rushed and lack input, and end up missing important details because they were talking at the same time. I really like it if you take your time to pause if you want to make a longer opinion. It's more than fine. Thank you for giving our bois a chance. They're growing steadily now, but it's harder to catch up these days with lots of other vtubers dominating the community.
Thank you for watching holostars!! They really need more attention and very underrated but they're gaining more attentions lately and im trully grateful for these reactions channels for exposing holostars to others..You earned yourself a sub man
pausing is totaly fine.better then you just skiping thru everything they all have amazing singing skills. And mentioning retired members is puting active members in uncorfortable situation because they are not allowed to share to much of company info even if its nothing bad...so better just avoid thing in general. great reaction in general..u should react to some holostars songs in future
Oh, you reacted to this too!! This is one one my favorite complications to introduce Holostars as a whole. The other one is the HoloRewind 2020, which has videos for all generations in Hololive Production, including Holostars. One thing the video doesn’t bring up is that there isn’t really a senpai-kouhai dynamic within Holostars like there is in Hololive and most JP workplaces in general. Even Aruran, the oldest member at 37, is treated like one of the bros by the youngest at 19. It’s almost as if all 3 gens come from the same generation. They treat each other like a family, which is pretty unique for a 9 person group. They also tend to have a lot of unplanned collabs, in which one member is playing a game and another one (or more) is free and joins just to hang out. Sometimes they’ll join just to chat over discord or stay in chat commentating. It means that if you’re a fan of one member you eventually end up a fan of all of them, simply ‘cause you never know who is in whose stream, and you get to know all of them to some degree through osmosis. I think only Hololive Indonesia has come to do this close to the same degree. Which makes sense since ID and Stars are pretty close - the chaotic spirit infects them all. I don’t have much more to say other than that it was a delight to watch this with you. Thanks!! :)
I’m sorry for these paragraphs 😓 Well holostars is also still pretty new (they started 2019) compared to hololive who started back in 2017-18, also i don’t wanna say it like this but hololive are also just girls so many male simps, not saying it’s the same for the holostars they still get fans but i wouldn’t really consider them simps, their more like super supporters, I’m not sure about the holostar fanbase but it’s been confirmed many times by many hololive members that it’s mostly male viewers but keep in mind their are still a lot of females but there are just more males that watch hololive hololive has big male supporters too but it’s more overall in a simp kind of way as where holostars most guys would have to really like they’re content and also just the language barrier as well most guys would probably like to hear the cute anime girls but for holostars we wanna know more of what they’re probably saying because they’re guys Example: Hololive member is scared: our reaction is that this is so cute and funny Holostar: dang i wonder what he’s thinking because that is scary and funny Also my thoughts on hololive/stars that graduate i don’t really know if anybody had to leave in bad terms besides one person, but everyone who did leave left because of anti’s (online bullies who nitpick everything to make them feel bad pretty much), life, mental health, and also just health problems in general so it’s not really that it’s bad it’s just really sad to mentioned them Edit: If they did leave on bad terms we just don’t know of it really

Aki, Choco & Roboco also have collabed with the boys before in some way.
(Roboco & Rikka have an amazing cover together)
yeah that idol culture is... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
overseas bro dont see them as idol but more entertainers -comedian- 😁
Talking about retired members when the members themselves brought up their name(s) is totally fine, but if they were brought up by chat with no reason, that's where people will have problems.

The video creator likely used already subtitled clips, but it's still impressive that they did the rest of the editing from the phone
i know right? crazy to think he spent all the time using the phone and did a great job at that!

This is why I'm a holostars fan of miyabi, izuru, shien, astel and roberu. Yes, I said it, don't @ me.
6:58 that’s actually the first opening to Tokyo ghoul
you can vibe with anyone dino. just buy them dinner first~
bruh XD
I’m sorry for these paragraphs 😓
Well holostars is also still pretty new (they started 2019) compared to hololive who started back in 2017-18, also i don’t wanna say it like this but hololive are also just girls so many male simps, not saying it’s the same for the holostars they still get fans but i wouldn’t really consider them simps, their more like super supporters, I’m not sure about the holostar fanbase but it’s been confirmed many times by many hololive members that it’s mostly male viewers but keep in mind their are still a lot of females but there are just more males that watch hololive
hololive has big male supporters too but it’s more overall in a simp kind of way as where holostars most guys would have to really like they’re content and also just the language barrier as well most guys would probably like to hear the cute anime girls but for holostars we wanna know more of what they’re probably saying because they’re guys
Example:
Hololive member is scared: our reaction is that this is so cute and funny
Holostar: dang i wonder what he’s thinking because that is scary and funny
Also my thoughts on hololive/stars that graduate i don’t really know if anybody had to leave in bad terms besides one person, but everyone who did leave left because of anti’s (online bullies who nitpick everything to make them feel bad pretty much), life, mental health, and also just health problems in general so it’s not really that it’s bad it’s just really sad to mentioned them
Edit: If they did leave on bad terms we just don’t know of it really
