I'm so enjoying your V reactions!! The song "Christmas Tree" is actually NOT a Christmas song. It's an OST from the Netflix show Our Beloved Summer. It's a great song! Also, another song of V's is "Sweet Night" which is a OST from the Netflix series Itewon Class. This song is the song that actually lead me to BTS when I wanted to find out who was singing this track. Yes, V def old soul who loves old time jazz music. Borahae 💜 BTW OST stands for Original Sound Track.

Cheek to cheek is an old song that came out in 1939 sung by Fred Astaire. It was a huge hit and all the great singers sang it - Frank Sinatra (of course he covered it!), Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald. Btw, I was going to tell you to look her up. V loves this old stuff. I'm 69 and my dad was a piano player who loved this song.

It makes me happy to see your enthusiastic response to Tae’s music. Tae listens to a lot of different types of music. You should watch his driving vlog. He’s very old school in many ways. Also if you haven’t heard his osts for kdramas, give them a listen too. You referred to one them …Christmas Tree ( not a Christmas song believe it or not). Sweet Night, another of his osts, was my gateway song to BTS. He is a winter baby so listen to his jazzy song Snowflower too.

Heaven. I'm in Heaven when I, IdeaGirl, see your face and heart smile knowing you are going to react to one of your favorite singers, V. It's T.T. , Tutorial Time. On December 23, 2022, V dropped "It's Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas" as a "Christmas present" For Army. It was a complete surprise. It is not related to "Christmas Tree", a different Christmas song which was an OST, Original Sound Track, for a Korean TV show. It is a cover of Bing Crosby's version of the song. And later Frank Sinatra covered it, too. V, casually dressed in a blue hoody, recorded and crooned one of his favorite Christmas songs casually in a sound studio. It's worth watching the video because of the cameo at the end. A surprise guest. The vocal arrangement and background vocals were done by Minna Seo, a famous female jazz soloist from Korea. You might consider finding her solo work on UA-cam. She is the best female jazz singer in Korea. You might add some of her work to your playlist. Guess who is V's duet partner in "Les Jazz de V"? Minna Seo. They blend and harmonize perfectly together. My opinion. They should do a jazz album together. Their rendition of, "I'm in Heaven" renamed "Cheek to Cheek" the famous Ella's Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong duet. However, the song was written by Irving Berlin for the movie musical "Top Hat". Fred Astaire sings it to Ginger Roger's as he dances with her "Cheek to Cheek" across the dance floor.
It's an epic song with an iconic performance. A Must See. I'm so glad you're continuing V's playlist. I'm in Heaven! ❤
In a video clip...I couldn't tell you when I saw it, but someone is filming at V's apt. Briefly we see the camera turn to V's bedroom and through the open door we can see V standing in front of a huge wall mounted TV. He is standing in front of an old time standing microphone and singing along to a solo jazz performance on screen. It's one of his hobbies. He listens to music every day. And finds old class jazz performances to sing along to. Not sitting down. But standing up and mimicking the singer like he is singing at an old jazz club. The only difference. He was wearing pajamas. Ha.
At the last recorded Festa, a yearly tradition of celebrating their debut, the members are asking each other what's been going on in their lives. Because this is a rare get-together. As it's at the end of the worst of the pandemic and they've all been separated this whole time. Suga asks V about his songwriting and songs. V had promised to drop a mixed tape of his creations, but still never has. V told Suga he wasn't really happy with them. Suga says you should release them anyway even if they aren't perfect. It would be kind of like a history note of V's beginning composing songs. Suga confessed he has not proud of so many of his beginning songs he put out there. But he is glad he did. It shows his growth along the years. V says he can't release them because he threw them all away. He didn't like them. Many he couldn't finish. You can hear a collected sigh of disappointment from Army throughout the world. All of V's beginning writings lost forever. During that Festa BTS announces, they are all beginning solo work. We find out that their concert in Busan was their last concert performing together before all entering the military...at staggered times. They didn't announce this at the concert because they didn't want the Army to be sad. But they knew. That's when they introduced the song the best is "Yet to Come". We didn't know it had a hidden meaning. That the best was Yet to Come after they all get back together after their completed military service in 2025. (I may have told you this story before. I sometimes forget who all I have informed this to. There are so many new people who don't know BTS's history.) At this Festa it was very emotional. They all cried. They explained they all had to take a break because they were exhausted and brain dead. Literally, they couldn't write or create anything new. They were all burned out!! They apologized. But we all understood. They had dedicated themselves 100% to the success of BTS. No days off. Very few breaks or real vacations. Working long, long hours. Traveling the world. Learning tons of new songs and choreography. Making appearances on TV and interview shows...on and on and on. Whew!!! Their break helped them rest up. So did the creative solo work time...which proved they all could be solo artists too. And believe it or not their military service was a kind of break too. They could be real people with no showbusiness duties for years. Interestingly enough, they all have been recognized for their superior level of accomplishment. They all have received high acknowledgments. Jin recently was recognized as one of the most accomplished soldiers for the decades!!! Amazed, but not surprised.

Christmas Tree is not actually a Christmas song. It’s actually an OST (original soundtrack) for a K Drama Beloved Summer. Several of the members of BTS have done OSTs some for K Dramas and some for Western Movies even video games and web toons. Jimin was in an OST for the latest Fast & Furious movie, Mic Drop (Steve Aoki remix) was in Justice League, Jimin & V song Friends was in Marvels: The Eternal. V & Jin did an OST It’s Definitely You for the K Drama Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth that V was in. Suga produced and JK sang the OST Stay Alive for their web toon 7 Fates: Chakho.
The 7 guys are not a boy band and have excelled past KPop group. The are well rounded artists and I don’t mean just musically. Besides singing, rapping and dancing they act, model (they make the fits look better than the actual runway models do), marketing/promotion (brand ambassadors), directing, produce, write music, exclusive Korean voiceovers for Disney movies, photography, play instruments, graphic artiste (painting, drawing, etc). They have designed their own mech. They know how from conception to the conclusion how to put on a concert (this also includes budgeting, promotion, design/layout, band, backup dancers, behind the scenes staff etc.) Because the all have business degrees and hands on experience of the business they could actually break off and start their own company. But they won’t at least not now because right now all they want to do is create music, their first love and make them and ARMY happy. They don’t even care about the money. The last concert they put on before they all went into the military was free. They fill the stadium and several other venues where it was broadcast as well as it was broadcasted globally and 45 Million ARMYs were watching and broke the internet. They recorded the broadcast and replayed it so we could watch. All of them are wealthy enough they don’t ever have to work again. They could retire and never have to worry about anything. But they just want to create art and share with their fans. 😊

Maybe you like Snow Flower, it's a Christmas song that V gave to Army about 2 or 3 years ago, to me it sounds like a 50's or 60's type ballad. V was born at the end of December so he usually gives Army songs with a Christmas and nostalgic vibe.

Oh I remember when BTS touched my soul just like V did with you today. I was overwhelmed with emotions like they unlocked a Pandora’s box of feelings and I cried. I can’t explain it but when you see someone else have the same thing happen you know they get it! I love all 7 of them but V just has something special that drew me in.

The second one was written by the late Great Irvine Berlin in 1030 for the Award winning Black and White film 'Top Hat' staring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers who do the song as a big song and dance routine within the film. Both the film and and the song is extremely famous.

Hello I have been doing your videos. My year of birth is 1955. Just a little history about Cheek to Cheek. It was written by Irvin Berlin in 1935 the movie named Top Hat. It was sung by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. I have been watching this movie since I was a kid. Still one of my favorite songs. When you get the chance it's worth watching.💜💜💜

Taehyung loves BTS and his time with them, but honestly, he has moved so far past the kpop type genre. I don’t think they ever quite knew what to do with his baritone voice. You should check out his appearance on IU’s show. They are good friends (he appeared with her in her mv Love Wins All) and she sang one of his Layover songs and then they did a duet. "One of my favorite instruments." Please tell us that story. When did you "fall in love" with the piano? Do you play the piano? I took piano for 2 years as a child. And 1 year as a teen. I can read and play simple songs. When I was in high school, my parents bought a very used Baby Grand piano for our living room. It looked and sounded lovely. But I never became proficient. Just so you know, you can find piano versions of most of BTS's songs on "You Tube." They are very relaxing to listen too. If I was very rich I would splurge on an expensive Grand Piano for my Grand Piano room. It would be the kind that played music for you. A modern-day player piano. Also, I would love to host young pianists' recitals. Or invite famous guest pianists to play for the evening. My IdeaGirl idea would be to invite V and his amazing jazz pianist and Live Band for a lovely evening of V's favorite songs. I love to dream Big. Or, in other words, have Big Ideas. Happy piano dreams to you too. 😏
