I’m 13 and I really like woodwork, but I can only do it in school as I don’t have anywhere to do it at home, but I do have a shed, so this is what I will be building
be careful and have fun
UA-cam will be your best teacher on your journey of woodworking, all the best little buddy.
Thank you!! So simple and just what I was looking for to add to my own garage!
Chris Godwin you are very welcomed thank you for watching
This project (plus your part 2 modification) is what I've been envisioning for my office. Thanks for this!
Thank you for watching! Happy to be of assistance.
Absolutely love this! I was looking for a simple DIY video on this for my creative space my partner and I just bought to maximize space. Thanks for the video.
You Are very welcomed, thank you for watching!
Excellent! That is exactly the straight forward type of folding table that I wanted to make for my sewing machine. Thanks!
Glad to be of help. Thank you for watching.
exactly what I was looking for, simple, easy& low budget and u saved a lot of time for me not watching other videos ..thank you.
You are very welcome, thank you for watching and commenting!
yay! simple enough for me to do! I need a cutting table for my sewing space but my sewing stuff is in my front entryway closet. I can make this table on the wall by my front door and put it "away" when it's not in use so my entry stays nice and neat!
That is the whole design: lots of work space easy to put away
Nice idea for the legs on the side. It's just what I need for my table extension
Thank you for watching!
Exactly what i was looking for!
I am glad to help! Thank you for watching!
Love this - thanks for sharing.
You are very welcomed!
Great ideas! thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching!!
Great idea brother! I am going to do the same. I appreciate you posting this
You are very welcomed thank you for watching!
GOOD IDEA!
THANKS FOR SHARING
Thank you for watching :)
Hi
thank you so much. you made this so easy
thank you
exactly what I was looking for
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for sharing. I followed the same plans, but used folding support brackets for the legs.
That was something I did also after using the bench for eight months, did you buy them or made them? Thank you for watching!
I bought the brackets, 4x on Amazon for $15 ( goo.gl/50QeOy ), but attached them to 2x4 wooden legs.
There is always more than one way to achieve a task, Would love to see your bench if you would like to send me some photos. YOU can watch my approach here: ua-cam.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=R6CH_l2LrKM
Using a solid core door slab is genius! Only small issue is it might be too small for me
You can purchase all different size doors or even combine more than one.
UAU!
VERY GOOD!
A great idea with a slab door.
Thank you for watching and for the nice comment.
Excelente amigo!...good idea!... the easiest of youtube....
Thank you and thank you for watching.
Excellent. Thanks! Subscribed.
Awesome, thank you!
Very easy to watch video, thank you for that. One thing though, I got all my stuff for free, except hinges. Would love for you to see it when I finish it, ???
Absolutely!
Thanks for sharing, you just inspired me. I wanna do the same in my Garage, but cant seem to find the Long Piano Hinge. can you help?
I bought mine at home depot. It is just short of the full length of the door but works just fine. Thank you for watching!
Gracias, era justo lo que buscaba.👏👏👍👍
Gracias
Damn good idea
I'm doing this
Thank you for watching! :)
Did you do it?
Super! I like.
Thanks!
Brilliant think I will try something like that, for my allotment shed what is you blue drill tool please?
I use a RIGID 18V impact. thank you for watching!
Hinging concept is cool. A few things.
- a door is not a good table. If you got the door for that cheap, it’s hollow core and will not support any weight on the skin of the door. If it is solid core, it’s still not a good table. The skin will get ripped up and you will start to expose the glued together, rough chip wood core.
- Those table legs are not going to be sturdy. I’m planning on building a collapsible table soon and I plan to have 3 pull out supports that will be hinged up against the wall behind the table and swing out to support the table. Haven’t plotted out “locking” them in place yet though.
thank you for the comments. It is hollow and have used it for many years without any issues, I have put 300 pounds on it with no issues, the legs are extremely sturdy, It is a workbench and has performed very well since day one, it has wear and tear but any workbench would.
Great idea, Has the door held up well with no warping?
Thank you, zero warping and I have build 400 projects on the bench opening and closing it almost daily. Thank you for watching!
Very good, thank you.
You are welcomed
Bravo re
Hey! Nice and simple, just what I'm looking for.
Can you pls tell me the size of the "large" hinge? I'm guessing 72" long, but I don't know the width. Thx!
It is a standard piano hinge, I never measured the width but I believe they are all the same width. Thank you for watching :)
Hey! Thx. There are different width piano hinges. For example, 1-1/2" width and 1-1/16" width. Anyways, I've found a low-cost 72" x 1-1/16" piano hinge, and I wanted to verify it would work before I ordered it. Thx again.
Just curious where you found the Slab door.
Lowe's for about $20.00
What kind of screws or bolts are you using to attach 2x4 to drywall? And size? Thank you
I use 4 inch screws
Hello, did you use a solid core slab door?
No, the hollow ones are best for this project they are lighter and they do not sag
Buena idea
Perfect don't need more explanation ease please thanks.
Thank you for the comment and for watching :)
1:50 Maybe put a latch at top of support leg to strengthen and prevent accidental movement or folding.
In all the years I've used it this has never been an issue. It is plenty heavy, and almost impossible to knock the leg out of it.
Curious, where do you find a slab door for $24. I can't find one anywhere near that price...unless you go hollow. Advice on how having a hollow slab can impact your work?
Lowe's that is their standard price.
Sorry, I was thinking solid, do you think hollow will work just fine?
No problem, this type is better than solid doors. It is lighter and very strong and straight.
Absolutely, it has been fantastic for me
If you have a habitat for humanity Re-store near you, they often have nice doors at reasonable prices.
AWSOME 😂
Thank you
genius
Thank you so much and thank you for watching.
Where do you buy piano hinges?
Either the blue or orange store
I wish they were still $24 😂😂😂
second hand store mu friend!!
What size nail did you use to attach the 2 x 4s?
I did not use nails I used 3” screws
@ProfessorDIY thank you so much. Im installing a diy foldable table in our laundry room. This helps so much. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and time.
@@KsstheStrs Glad to help!
Nice video, I think You could attach handle on side so You can have flat surface on whole of the table (=
That is easy to do, however, I use the handle as a stop frequently
Where did you pay $24 for a slab door? The ones I see at home Depot and Lowe's are more like 100
It was some time ago, but currently in my area they are around $40.00 another good option is restore you can find them for $5.00
I only see one 2x4 however you mention 2 of them?
The second is used for the legs, thank you for watching
The other for the legs.
where do you get a 24$ slab door?
Goyt mine at Lowe's
It is hollow core. Not able to attach legs due to this....
hi so I'm looking for someone to give me some ideas for a bed I really want to see come true. so I want to make a bed frame that has plenty of drawers under and the frame will be about 2 or 3 feet high and a pull kitchen table. the bed would be a twin or full size bed.
You want to build it yourself?
The handle would have been better on the side and not in the way 👍
Thank you for the feedback
how can we fold that legs of bench sir ?
The fold under the bench using hinges, look at 1:42 clearly visible. Let me know if you have anyother questions.
thnk yew sir
any time, thank you for watching
Great video! I need two! I hope the best for your channel! Maybe you could stop my way sometime. Good luck!!😁
You too! I love your channel!
nice video whos can teach me now
Thank you for watching. There are many videos in my channel that are very detailed and teach you the techniques needed to build virtually any project,
the way you move the camera is pretty annoying, other than that, good idea
Thanks for the comment and for watching, this was my first youtube video and recording is much harder than woodworking! I hope i am improving as time passes
ok
??
slab door now 90 dollars at home depot lol
yes over the last year lumbe products have quadrupled in price
those weak legs could be stronger and safeter also..
The legs are anything but weak, never had an issue with them and the bench has held quite a lot of weight. Thank you for watching
Should start with leveling and marking... Not a video to watch for beginners... 😔
Marking for what? It is easier to level once you have one screw attached - specially if you work by yourself
Woodprix is nice for that.
Be gone spamer
hmm
Thank you for watching could you elaborate on your comment?
He is trying to figure out what size screws you used. Please let us know.
@@ProfessorDIY BTW Great Idea
Magkano po
???
where did he get 2 2x4s for $6...lol
Did you check when the video was published?
@@ProfessorDIY I was just kidding..lol those were the good ole days..
All of my woodworks I am making with woodprix. Google and try it.
YOu have never made anything spammer
I HATE impact drivers !
John C why is that? They are great tools. Thank you for watching
They are overly noisy. The only reason to deal with that unnecessary noise is when using a hammer drill to set anchors in concrete.
They are faster than a drill and often can drive bolts/screws that a driver can not. In this project, I tried a drill and simply did not have the power needed for the job. Again thank you for watching and commenting.
Who watch this ina 2024😅😅😅😅
Clearly you
This must be a joke
Exactly why you say that?
@@ProfessorDIY because it's the worst table on UA-cam with the shittiest legs
homie. hes just showing you how. if you need some help making legs straight i think there's a video for that too.
Damn, that looks weak as shit. I wouldn't even lean against it for fear it would collapse.
Yet for years it has served me very well exactly what looks weak to you just out of curiosity
