Biggest Project Yet! Switching from Gas Stove to Electric

Starting to get into some of the bigger projects on the house! First up replacing gas stove that came with the house with an electric stove. Just one problem, the new stove is 6" wider than the old, not to mention it is electric instead of gas! Ended up modifying the end cabinet slightly to make up for the extra stove width.

We’re doing the same. I do love gas, but it’s a safety hazard in our house with memory loss at this time, as a person who loves to cook on it I’m just gonna focus on positive of it being a healthier energy sourc & will learn to adapt!

We are liking it so far! Especially the solid top on the stove, makes cleanup extremely easy!

I didn't hear you tell people to be sure to turn off all the electricity for the entire house at the main switch for the entire house before touching any of the electrical wiring. Someone can die if they touch the electrical wiring without turning off the entire house first. The woman acted as though she had put her finger in the breaker box and had been shocked. Couldn't doing that have killed her? I am wondering if she was just kidding. I am planning to change from gas to electic. This was good to show what needs to be done to accomplish that.

Rare that residential home voltage will kill you, might hurt a little. Just respect it and watch your fingers and don’t touch! Really no need to turn off the main breaker.

I love our gas one would never go back to electric. Even saved us in winter when lost power for week or so coukd have heat and was able to cook some

Found the electric for a really good deal! Plus hard to beat eletric for consistency

Gas is shown to be bad for house air quality. Especially if you have young children

Oh it very much is if you know some basic electrical! And make sure you cap the gas and check it!
