This is why land law is very important. Get to know where you live, and obtain multiple official copies of the original land patents dating back as far as applicable, and if possible too copies of any and all title transfers of any kind to/regarding the land. Land is not the same as real estate or the real property which would be for example the buildings.. in fact land is the three dimensional space, from the center of the earth to the highest heavens *without* unless specified, rights to the minerals, the ground, the soils, watersheds, rivers, etc.. typically mineral and land rights. I'm talking about though this problem as an American, and we got our land law from my ancestors, the Normans in large part over time but I"m sure it must be similar over there in Israel. Good luck.
