Larry Tate is in fact VERY much like a boss I knew once… Although not comically exaggerated like Larry, she was similarly sycophantic, and like Larry, she was always willing to throw any of her employees under a bus if she thought it would please a client or get her noticed with her superiors for a possible promotion. I bet a LOT of people out there have known bosses like Larry Tate!
This is just my opinion the character Darrin wasn’t written well if he was written pleasant the character would be more enjoyable to watch didn’t the both actors who played the character were so so with the second actor who played the Darrin character there wasn’t any chemistry between the Sam character, this is a classic show yet it’s the Darrin character.
