Makes me want to visit for sure. Not gonna leave Portugal any time soon to live somewhere else, but Barcelona looks like a great place to visit. Someday maybe we'll get that high-speed train built that can get us there fast.
I live in Barcelona and most people is using Spanish not catalan except the old people in some villages. You dont need to know Catalan just use Spanish and you will be fine.
We don’t have green spaces 😅 arguably, we have some of the smallest square meters of green space per capita, in Europe. It’s overbuilt and suffocating. I was surprised you found that tree in Gracia 😂
Barcelona is great place to visit only I prefer Portugal to live. We will be going to Porto this weekend (June 23-25) and look forward to seeing the city
Portugal is incredible...great people, incredible nature, wonderful micro climates. Only that said we're presently looking to buy a vacation place in Malaga, Spain. Absolutely LOVE that area. For me it's like a tropical paradise. So I would have to say I love Spain and Portugal equally now.@@kevinkeating4984
Barcelona is a great city to live in. I love it but I also think the problem in Barcelona is the big amount of tourists everywhere. It would be kind of annoying. But tbh I had the same feeling in Lisbon, which is also an amazing city but soooooo many tourists everywhere.
So surreal - I was just there in April with my family, and we saw many of the places you showed in your video! We didn't know that Park Güell is on a hill - the maps don't show topography! We stayed in Sant Joan Despi, and we learned that the metro system is (like London) a zoned system.
Hello…I find the video interesting. I live in Portugal, I think the roads in Barcelona are better, and the city is walkable as you mention. On the contrary, Lisbon is hilly and the roads are not that good. Is it possible to get by with English only? I don’t want to learn Spanish at my age..
Thanks for another great video. Wonderful to visit but would probably not live there due to: higher cost-of-living and more cumbersome visa process for my USA spouse (as I understand it-compared with PT). Interesting point Josh raises about Catalan vs Castilian Spanish and integrating better with locals. 🤔
Thanks, Maurice. Yes, the process in Portugal does seem to be a lot more straightforward and from personal experience Portuguese bureaucracy is better.

We'd love that high speed train too! We'll be at the ribbon cutting ceremony with you.

Yeah move to PT everyone.
I miss Barcelona!
Thanks for the info guys. Headed to Barcelona next year with some friends. My paternal ancestors were from Catalonia.
You're welcome. Thanks for watching, Rebecca! Have a great time there. - Josh & Kalie

So cool! We're going to be in Barcelona again in August and this time we'll be in Sant Joan Despi! Thanks for watching.
@@expatseverywhereexplores we were near the Mercadona supermarket. Buses and trams were nearby. Very convenient and affordable. Enjoy!

NO.
Go to Valencia, Murcia, Burgos, Valladolid, Galicia, Cantabria, Aragón or Asturias instead. Even Madrid. Stop coming to BCN.
Without the tourists catalonia would be a hot pile of shit
@@mrgame97 Why? Catalonia is beautiful, and has plenty of industries, companies, knowledge, universities, arts, culture...
