Not exactly, officially it means that if for some reason you are unable to afford housing or able to support yourself it means the trust will step in to help. Usually Trusts tick this to make the visa application easier for you (it prevents you from having to supply bank statements).

My employer issued my a CoS in order to apply for a skilled worker visa from outside the UK. The validity of the CoS was 10th November 2021. I submitted my application in September and my visa was granted on October 13th. I travelled to the UK on the 12th of November ( 2 days after the CoS expiry date). My employer told me that since the CoS has expired before I entered the UK, I lost my right to work in the UK and as a result, I left the UK without collecting my BRP. I believe the information my employer shared with me is wrong. Any idea about this? Thanks
This is wrong Cos expirey date ( or to be used by ) date , is just a time window for you to apply for the visa within U got Ur visa already , the COS says you'll work for 1 year , and so it covers you within that 1 year If the cos expirey date reflects Ur right to work , then all doctors will leave jobs like 1 or 2 months after starting

In order to apply for your Visa, all you need is your CoS reference number. However, we would certainly not apply until you have seen the full Certificate of Sponsorship. You need to double check everything matches up with the original offer letter.

No, COS can be managed by the company through Sponsor Management System. But you can deny the offer and accept offer in new company and process visa there.

Hello there. If you're a Psychiatrist we can certainly help you. Of course, you will first need to obtain your GMC. Once you have your GMC, the NHS will likely offer interviews and positions, providing your experience matches up with the requirements.

Hello. It is down to the discretion of the Trust if they will issue your CoS without your HCPC. In most cases, they wont issue a CoS until they have confirmation of registration/license.

Hello. I'm afraid we only work within the medicine sector so we can't offer advise on securing posts outside of the NHS. With this in mind, the best thing to do is to contact the Visa office and ask them what the requirements are.

So now I understand it as my Trust paid £3199 for my CoS certificate. Not that they are actually paying for my visa application process. Hello! It sounds like it has been applied but there is just a delay in the processing of it. Contact your Trusts HR department to clarify.

The time it takes to switch visa can vary, it is usually around 8 weeks.

Hello, the application shouldn't ask you for your NI number. If you do need it have you looked on an old pay slip or your BRP?

Once you have your visa, it no longer matters if your CoS is valid!

Hello. The best place to look is on NHS jobs. Once you've successfully interviewed through the Trust, they will then issue you the CoS
