The 8900 is a new radio (in an old case). You can program up to 40 VHF frequencies into the memories. I understand that Radioddity may be bringing out a new radio with this board.
Only had it 24 hours but it works exactly the same with a few added features. Audio reports are that it sounds better than the 7900V, clearer and more punchy.

It was receiving using my CB antenna but you could connect a proper VHF antenna instead I guess.
