A little more insight about the tri-pods for regular cameras. As long as you buy one of the travel tri-pods that can either fit into your bag or strap securely on the side of your bag then they will allow you to bring it into the park. I had zero issues with my tri-pod at all security check points and they instantly let me right in after they looked at all my gear. Which included the travel tri-pod, two lens's and two camera bodies, batteries (You will need extra batteries due to the Florida heat). What causes the problem with things like selfie sticks is how they're used and how obnoxiously used they were in the parks. Most photographers that use tri-pods in the parks know what they're doing and we look for spots that are more out of the way of people for parades, fireworks etc. So, that's why selfie sticks didn't last long because the people that used them had zero consideration for anyone around them. When you're using professional camera gear such as tri-pods in the parks just use common sense and common courtesy and you'll be fine.
ive always been a little unclear on the tripod/monopod and selfie stick debate where GIMBALS lie. Because they are a tripod monopod, but they can sometimes extend and look sometimes like a suped up selfie stick. People bring them in all the time for vlogging too, so while people say its a no-go it also seems not well enforced> I have arthritis and have shaky hands. I want to bring a gimbal just so I can take some clear photos of the parades and fireworks, as I just cant get naything clear without that stabilization. If it collapses down and can look like a small tripod, and others use it for vlogging frequently enough, would they take it?

Is a collapsible stool prohibited? It doesn't fold and is a lot smaller. 2 to 3hr lines are a killer and sometimes you just need to sit
