If a Chinese submarine refused to surface, what action do you think the U.S. Navy should take? Monitor, warn, or engage? Drop your thoughts below - we’re eager to hear your take on this high-stakes scenario! 🚢⚠
I did it. Looking back, carrier duty would have been way better. Unless you like sleeping in a bed that's still warm from the dude that was farting and fapping in it 20 minutes before you arrived.
Carriers don't intercept submarines. Frigates and Destroyers do. Carriers aren't tasked with ASW (although they do deploy ASW helicopters). If a submarine gets close to an aircraft carrier, the carrier's escorts failed miserably in their jobs. That's what the destroyers in the carrier group are tasked with. tl;dr: the USS ford has no anti-submarine capability, or the sonar capabilities to detect them. That's not their job.
The point of freedom navigation is to allow Other ship's to freely travel but to also rival claims that that said state has made without showing any evidence
Intense stuff! The game of cat and mouse between the USS Gerald R. Ford and the Chinese submarine shows just how high the stakes are in these contested waters. The tension is palpable! What do you think this means for future naval confrontations?

I would have gone into the navy during the Vietnam war
Me too. Stupid me didn’t sign.
They just found out that they weren't as stealth as they thought... they now know their vulnerability
No more to war the world ❤❤❤❤❤
Wanted to go into the navy but something came up 😊
I wanted submarine duty

They operate in their sea,the question is wtf is cvn78 doing in south china sea?
It wouldn't be there. It's in the Atlantic Fleet.

Buried at Sea!
They got caught playing and they know they can't hang
Great video! 💙 If a Chinese Sub did not surface, that would need fast thinking and clear communication.
Really assume ships
Chinas stealth submarine isn't very stealthy 😂😂😂
Stealth???? I guess not it was detected and brought up to the surface
