- Day 2 of our search for Dorothy Goroshko, who vanished without a trace in 1975. As the sun rises over Boston, our resolve strengthens, fueled by the hope of uncovering the truth behind Dorothy's disappearance. With every passing moment, the mystery deepens, but so does our determination to bring closure to a family that has waited nearly half a century for answers.

MISSING SINCE 1975: The Search for Dorothy Goroshko (Day 2)
• The Search for Dorothy...
In 1975, the vibrant city of Boston was rocked by the sudden disappearance of Dorothy Goroshko. Last seen at the Penalty Box, a popular local bar, Dorothy's night out turned into a decades-long mystery. Driving her distinctive yellow 1970 Ford Maverick with a black top, license plate 9K7755,
Day 1 Findings: An underwater vehicle from the correct time period was discovered near the police headquarters Marine unit. Despite initial hopes, it was determined not to be Dorothy's car due to a mismatch in tire size.
Day 2 Efforts: The team continued their search in Jamaica Pond, driven by community rumors and the geographical challenge posed by the pond's kettle glacial structure, which features shallow edges and a deeper center. Several targets were located and our team dove on.
The 1970 Ford Maverick Dorothy was driving, is known for its history of mechanical issues, including brake problems, we're faced with the possibility that an accident could have led to Dorothy's disappearance.
🚤 Technology Meets Tenacity: The Tools of Our Quest
Armed with cutting-edge sonar technology, we navigate the murky waters, our eyes glued to the screens, searching for any sign of Dorothy's yellow 1970 Ford Maverick. The sonar readings, a blend of science and intuition, guide us as we interpret the echoes returning from the depths below. Each blip, each anomaly on the screen, could be the clue that leads us to Dorothy. Our approach is methodical, our equipment sophisticated, but it's the heart behind the search that drives us forward.
The mysterious disappearance of Dorothy raises several questions that could point to foul play. Firstly, the context of her last known location, the Penalty Box bar, a bustling spot in Boston, suggests she may have encountered someone with malicious intent. The era, coupled with the late hours of the night, adds a layer of vulnerability to her situation. Secondly, the sudden and complete vanishing of Dorothy, without any trace or message to her family, hints at an orchestrated disappearance rather than an accidental one. Lastly, considering the challenges and limitations of law enforcement investigations during that time, the possibility that foul play was involved but went undetected or unsolved is plausible. These factors combined create a haunting possibility that Dorothy's disappearance was not merely an accident but potentially a calculated act of murder.

I’m a teenager from Rockford Illinois. I have been watching you since you started bringing missing cases to light. I am 16 and I have been trying to think of ways I could this myself. You’re my key to it. I want to join your team, bring family’s together so they can have their grief justified. I know everything that your crew does isn’t for the faint of heart, but it’s something I will strive to do. If you see this please give me a chance, all I’ve wanted to do is save peoples lives but I just never knew how I wanted it. This is as close as I’ll get to it.
Jared and Bill are a team to be reckoned with. They know their stuff. Both have the heart of a lion and we love them working together ❤❤
Jarrod has trained a lot of the other teams, he is simply the best at what he does. Bill is getting there.but yes great team.top team period😊

Thank you , Ranger Evans. This is how professionals and adults behave. See how easy it makes things? It's interesting to watch such an old search and how it differs from recent ones. Thank you all for continuing your work for these families
👍🤿🇦🇺 such clear water great work boys
If you live in an area that was glaciated the lakes and ponds have a sandy bottom and are spring fed. It spoils you forever for swimming in yucky bottom dammed river lakes. (Come to Michigan for its eight weeks summer and swim.)
You guys are the best. My favorite guys. Best team!
The grill, headlights & small triangular window reminds me of my Mum's 1st car. It was a late 60's to early 70's, 2 door, Chevy Chevelle.
My then-fiance, when we were both still at university, he bought a Ford Maverick [a 1971 or '72] he said it was gold with a black vinyl top. When it was delivered he took me to see it and in reality it was pumpkin orange, not a metalic gold.
I just have to say I tip my hat to you guys the effort you guys put in day in and our hub caps grill you really try your best to bring closure to these families God Bless to you and the hold team
Jared and Bill, the dynamic duo!! 2 really good men out making a difference in the world. 💛

Thanks so much Guys
Nice clear water for you guys. Best of luck. Pease be careful 😊
i'm so glad i joined as a member, regular vid's is the biz, thank you AWP keep up the SAR
In the 70s we put many sizes of tires on vehicles. US kids were stupid. But yes used different sizes of tires. Thank you 2 fer all your doins
That grill looks like a Ford Galaxy from that time frame even the hub caps look just like a Galaxy great work team
yup '68 or '69 Galaxie or Ltd
The hard part is that during the winter edges freeze and cars can slide further out into the lake and be in unexpected places.
It is hard to imagine a time where there were no guard rails with all that traffic so close to the river.
Them plants that are in the shallows look to be milfoil if so please take caution and make sure none is attached to the boat any small piece can cause it to end up in the next pond, milfoil is very invasive
The hub cap looks like a Ford galaxy. Would explain the long window as well.
Either a Galixie or Fairlane
I was going to say the same thing about the grill
@@bizbot1655I had a 65 ford fairlane 500. The front side windows were long
Another location she might have headed to is/was her parents home,. thats something you could ask the son. where did her parents live at that time.
Sometimes people will steal a car and drive it out on the ice in the winter and then it thaws and sinks. Long ago it was a way to get rid of "stuff."
Drive it onto the ice , set it aflame and it sinks quickly and the ice reforms leaving very little trace. I don't know Anyone who's tried it before 🙃
The Maverick only had a single headlight on each side. The dual headlights were on the Fairlane, Montego, Cyclone and Cougars. All from the70's
Hope they pull those wrecks out of the lake.
We all hope so; but it is the responsibility of the local authorities and we've seen that out of sight out of mind in a contagious attitude.
❤
😊
I hope the family finally get answers after all this time, must be heart breaking not knowing xx
That one car with the double headlight looks way too long to be a maverick, but it does look like maybe a Fairline or LTD or something like that
Loving and digging the old hubcaps
I root for you guys everyday to help give closure to famlies.
You'll always have people, law enforcement or otherwise, whose egos get in the way of their common sense or intelligence:)
Cheers,Rik Spector
I remember this search (pt 1)because I had a 1973 Ford Maverick. My first car, handed-down, when I got my dl
Are guys building a database of water bodies checked, when and how deep? Could help other search teams
you do such a amazing job please keep up the great work
27:09. Big old car. See how thick the door glass is. Not too many 4 door cars with a vent glass in the back seat.
My guess on the one that couldn't be identified....looks like a two door Ford Galaxy
The Ford Maverick didn't have dual headlights
Go to google and tap the camera. It will take a picture and search photo. Its pretty amazing what you can find that matches
Thanks. I didn't know that
32:28 Maybe you need a surplus military Ex-Marines carbon fibre boat ... ? Thanks for sharing !
Hey AWP there is a missing persons case( not sure how many though) here in the STATE OF MAINE that could use ur teams help and im also wondering if there are any vehicles in the rivers or bodies of water
Ford galaxie. About 67
After almost 50 years underwater, i would assumed the car would be completely buried. I hope they find her.
Yes the car would be breaking apart as well if there is anything left
for a lake that don't let you use gas motors there sure were allot of gas motors in there
JEROD THE 1970 FORD MAVERICKS HAD 1 ROUND HEADLIGHT ON EACH SIDE WITH A ROUND MAVERICK EMBLEM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GRILL. I USED TO OWN ONE SAME COLOR YELLOW. WHEN I BOUGHT IT SOME ONE PAINTED IT BLUE BUT UNDER HOOD AND TRUNK IT WAS STILL YELLOW.
That's what I'm saying. These guys look for Cars every single day. They should do a little bit of research on the cars they're looking for... Not to be a stickler but it would only make things easier for themselves
To the few that sits in their house and complains about how they do their job. Why don't you get out there and do something.or just shut your mouth .at least they are trying to bring closer to the familys that has lost some one.
Park Rangers, Karens, and Kevins, Oh my!!!!
Another note. The rims on your maverick are American torque thrusters,,All aluminum .and could be 15. With small 195 tires
That water was so clear!
Jared that was a Maverick Grill the front and the hubcap is also a Maverick they make different ones with different Mavericks the car you guys could not identify it is a Maverick car
Mavericks only had 1 headlight per side and many cars had similar hubcaps and they can also be used on cars other than the original cars they came on.
Jared just a thought. If you put a zip lock freezer bag over the magnet , but inside out so when you bring it up turn the bag out side and zip lock it, this way you have all the metal preserved. Freezer bags could be better . Thanks for what you all do. 🤔
That grill w/dual headlights I swear its a 66 or 67 Chevy Chevelle if not very similar @31mins
That grill looks like Ford Farlane or Torino about a 68 to me.
Ranger Evans did not get the memo😉
🇺🇲 Adventure with a purpose.
I believe you have a 68 Ford Fairlane check out the front grill
39:49 lmao..oh dear xx
❤❤
PLEASE do the Highway of Tears in British Columbia which follows the Skeena River which is famous for all its missing persons.
I laugh when they say “electric trolling motors only” because lakes a fresh water source and then you guys find 3 cars that have been leaking leaded gas and oil into them for years! You should sell AWP bottled water! Haha
1970’s Ford Maverick only had 2 headlights not 4.
it looks like a 78 ford torino 2 door hardtop the grill matches exactly
It's a late 60s ford galaxy or possibly fairlane
Not a Ford Fairlane, headlights were top and bottom and earlier one round light.
Grille looks like 68-70 ford galaxy 500
that grill looked like a chevy product like a caprice or impala
I know my impala's. Not from an impala or caprice. It kinda looked like a ford Trino grille but also could be a Chrysler product from the hubcaps
It actually kinda looks like a late 60s mercury cyclone grill to me.
@@racecar2933 thank you that was my first impression but a lot of cars did look similar in those years. have a great day
10:12 looks like a car
Amazing how many vehicles are in the water.
Bridge damage is from winter time when they spread salt for ice and it runs down and damages the concrete.
My first thought when I saw the roof. Looks like a vinyl top
Between 70s and 80s v vinyl tops on upper trim cars was quite popular.. maverick never did so from factory
@CajunShrek
The maverick they're looking for had a vinyl top. Many mavericks came with several different styles of factory vinyl tops including 4 doors
Fun fact, lots of vinyl tops didn't come from the factory...A lot of them came from the dealership...
Remember boys and girls unresearched "facts" are just here say and personal accounts...
There were shops that would do this after market for people. It was quite a popular add on in the 70s and 80s.
I have a question. Will you continue to look for this woman or do you have to move on to something else? Just curious as to what determines when you quit looking or continue to search.
They will keep looking for her - depending on weather conditions... if they don't find her when this was filmed they continue the following year or until she is found
Sure seems like wetsuit companies would be happy to outfit you guys…
Karens in the world....Jared lol xx
😂😂
Jared, what is the small blue tank next to your big one??
His reserve tank
67 Buick or impala
I think the white ford w/ the license plate looked like a 64 ford Galaxie blades on the chrome trim on the door.
I still have 2 of them good racecars
Wots the difference between gas n elec motors
Gas/oil has a tendency to leave traces in the water, due to the material used to power the engine. Electric really doesn’t have those kind of materials in the engine. I THINK the oil system, used to lubricate the internal workings of said engine, is a closed system. Meaning it does not have any contact with the outside world. Don’t know exactly how an electric motor works. But that is about as much as I *know*. Also, the electric engine has no exhaust, because it does not burn fossil fuels.
the 3te car ist a Ford Galaxie 1989 or 1970 the Radkappe
that grill looks like a late 78 ford torino 2 door hardtop i looked up a pic of it and that grill is a match
I would say the car looks like a mercury or ford torino
