- Measuring 55 feet wide and ranging from 75 to 95 feet in height, the operable doors at U.S. Bank Stadium are as impressive as they are large.
The massive doors, comprised of 30,000 square feet of glass and weighing 40,000 tons, were designed to pivot 90 degrees instead of slide. This alternative approach had never been done before and came with a unique set of challenges… The project team spent over a year planning the installation, relying heavily upon 3D modeling to ensuring accurate placement of materials and timely coordination.
Us Bank Stadium set the record for the World's largest pivoting doors. The stadium has created the ultimate fan experience for the NFL Superbowl and is home to the Minnesota Vikings. This stadium is more than just sports, it's a state-of-the-art multi-purpose facility in downtown Minneapolis.
