The thing about the south... our food usually doesn't look very appealing. But what it lacks in visual appeal, it more than makes up for in raw TASTE and FLAVOR!
You should definitely look up some of the other Jolly videos eating in America: Texas BBQ, Southern Comfort, TexMex, real Superbowl Sunday, Biscuits and Gravy, then there's one that's off the beaten path in Savanah, there are two street food ones each featuring great Taco Trucks, a couple comparing USA McDonald's and UK McDonald's. All really fun watches ❤❤❤❤❤
They didn't even show any of the sandwiches (brisket, turkey, chicken), beaver chips, and breakfast sandwiches, beverages; not to mention camping gear, clothes, collectables, or any of the other items, too many to mention.
Fortunately I'm not obese even at 71 & with 3 Buc-ee's around me. Most of their food is surprisingly good. If you get to go sometime, checkout the surgically clean bathrooms & take a picture with Buc-ee. The rest can be a surprise.
The cleanest bathrooms you will ever find on a road trip no joke. I'll tell my husband when you see a Bucee's pull over I got to go, I don't care if its 60 miles drive faster. 😂
Hopefully they come into the Midwest and great lake states soon. The Jolly video has me wanting to try some of the food. No gas station in my area is anything close to this.
Seriously amazing when folks don't visit a Buc-ees --- like he said the number of gas pumps, then you go in to the store and its overwhelming. I'm talking from experience and I live in NH!
So true. Many people think their local gas station gouges them with the gas prices. When in fact, many stations sell that at a lose to get you to buy a cold drink. There is a huge markup on those.
To be fair, they picked a bad flavor of Beef Jerky. I usually go with Beef Terriyaki. You almost can't go wrong with that flavor. It's slightly sweet and slightly spicy at the same time. But you can still taste the beef. And that's what's most important. I would have never gone with the Cherry Maple variety. And if you don't know, and I'm only guessing here...don't roast me, but making Jerky is the process of drying out meat so that you can store it got long periods of time without refrigeration or freezing. Pioneers and Native Tribes used to make it for traveling around so that they c old have a high protein food item that didn't need to be prepared. You just take it out of your saddle bag and eat it. The only problem is, it's quite expensive. Not sure why, but for some reason, it's always been several dollars more than you'd think it'd be.
That's the thing they didn't pick the Jerky flavor, they asked for the "most popular" and the guy behind the counter looked and though "what's not selling that I can get rid of? These out of towners won't even know better." When in reality to see what was the more popular one just look to see which tray and the less amount of Jerky in it.
You can make it yourself. There's plenty of recipes online for not just sausage gravy but also other gravies and the buttermilk biscuits. You can also do unsweetened iced tea as an option. I hope you can find the time to do it. Because it is amazing when enjoyed. You can also do the same with banana pudding.
Yes, the gas stations in the USA usually have a convenience store attached. Usually, they are small and sell individual bottles of soda/cola, candy, cigarettes, just whatever basic snack foods you might want to eat on a journey to take the edge off of hunger until you can get a proper meal. Some of them might even sell some cooked foods, such as hot dogs or pastries, such as donuts. They may even have jugs of milk available for people in the nearby neighborhoods in case the grocery stores are closed. Buc-ee's is a huge convenience store from what I've been told. We only just got our first Buc-ee's in my State within the last couple of years. I haven't had the chance to go check it out for myself, but my husband and daughter did get to. They said that it had a lot more food offerings, particularly cooked foods. They seemed to like the place although my husband said that it was much more expensive than what he is used to paying at a regular gas station convenience store.
I live about twenty minutes from a Buccees, and everything I've tried has been great. The fudge and cinnamon rolls are fantastic. The dark chocolate covered pecans are slso a must.
I’m going to a wedding next spring in Texas and I have already planned a trip to that exact gas station. Can’t wait. I know the trip is about the wedding, but I’m more excited about going to Buc-ee’s. 😂
They went to the Katy location I believe. Prasek's down the road in Sealy has a better selection of jerky (sold in HEB as well) and authentic fruit kolache. I call it a fancier Buccees, just not as big.
The largest Bucc-ees will open in Sevierville Tennessee this month, but it will be eclipsed by an even bigger Bucc-ees in Luling, Texas later this year.
Bucees will let you sample the jerky for you to find one you like. The biggest gas station in the world is at the New Braunfels, Texas location with 120 gas pumps. Bucees is pretty famous for its BBQ but Jolly didn't sample any of it. Beef Jerky is heavily spiced, smoked, dehydrated strips of beef. It was invented by cowboys in the 1800s that used to eat meat while on horseback when they were driving their herds of cattle from the ranches to the stock yards, weeks on end, sometimes several states over. Jerky doesn't require refrigeration. It can also be made with other meats.
I could send my recipe for bisquits and gravy, it’s fairly simple. Most ingredients are very basic(flour salt onion garlic) there are maybe 3 that could pose a problem. Evaporated(or unsweetened condensed) milk, the actual sausage, and baking powder. The baking powder I’m fairly certain really isn’t an issue but I’m not sure. It may be called something else in India.
You must know that one of the first rules of food is that, often, the more disgusting it looks the better it is. Anyway, yeah, Buc-ee's is cool. Besides Texas, they have locations in 6 or 7 different states in the American south.
Why, again, is this young lady stuck in a separate, room, where her voice is totally lost in the emptiness of the space . . . Why doesn't she get the same equipment, ( like a microphone! ) room and chance to be heard!?!?!?!?! Could not hear any of her comments . . None! Please fix this!!!!
Hickory or mesquite smoked jerky ... not girly flavors. Walnuts are good, pecans are better. Pecans are good on everything. Fudge is too much, I prefer chocolate brownies.
Stop and consider: proper biscuits and gravy is composed of these simple things… butter, flour, ground sausage (and it’s grease) black pepper, salt and water. Arranged in their proper order, YOU can make proper biscuits and gravy. It’s not rocket science. It DOES take artistry, though 😊
I hope you guys eventually watch them trying barbecue and REAL Super Bowl snacks. Anyone who attends American football games wether it's in a car park to the stadium, inside the house for a party, or just a family party knows that their first video was a complete lie! Blasphemous by an American foodie's standard. I don't know how you can go to London to enjoy it but the restaurant they went to is in London for the Super Bowl foods.
To be fair, most gas stations in the US are not like this. Quite a few are just gas pumps, with, maybe, an air pump to fill your tires, and, a small building for the employees to shelter in.
The thing about the south... our food usually doesn't look very appealing. But what it lacks in visual appeal, it more than makes up for in raw TASTE and FLAVOR!
The same can be said of a lot of Indian dishes. It looks odd, but tastes great. Panak Paneer for example.
Pecans are a nice nut. These are mixed with a bit of cinnamon and roasted for more flavor. We eat them fresh, use them as a topping on cakes and pies,

Meat jerky is a good travel food because it’s a lean source of protein and doesn’t spoil.
And nuts too.
They didn't even show any of the sandwiches (brisket, turkey, chicken), beaver chips, and breakfast sandwiches, beverages; not to mention camping gear, clothes, collectables, or any of the other items, too many to mention.
I have five flavors of Buc-ee's fudge in my refrigerator right now. It's all delicious.

Theyre slowly spreading to other states, but for the longest times they were exclusively in Texas
Hopefully they come into the Midwest and great lake states soon. The Jolly video has me wanting to try some of the food. No gas station in my area is anything close to this.
Our local Buc-ees has 120 gas pumps and a thousand parking spaces. 😎✌👍
Seriously amazing when folks don't visit a Buc-ees --- like he said the number of gas pumps, then you go in to the store and its overwhelming.

Here in the States the markup on a gallon of gas is somewhere 10 cents! So they put up a store that is geared towards people road tripping!

there are not many cockroaches...that would be the quickest way to ruin their business!
It's mostly just Texas where buc-ee's are how ever they are expanding into other states.

Not just the biggest in America, but the largest in the world!

Buc ees also have camping and sports gear....houseware....clothes....and other sorts....Buc ees call themselves a "Travel Plaza"
“It’s like a beef morgue.” Ahhh ha haha ha! Thank you, God, for making me a carnivore!
Southern Banana Pudding is actually a vanilla pudding with pieces of banana and vanilla wafers, topped with whipped cream.
I’m going to a wedding next spring in Texas and I have already planned a trip to that exact gas station. Can’t wait. I know the trip is about the wedding, but I’m more excited about going to Buc-ee’s. 😂

Seems you lost quality when you went to separate rooms. The girl got the worst audio equipment to use.
Seriously. Plz get ma'am a mic or something. We cannot hear her.
Please get the girl a microphone and do something about the birds in the background.

Amazing!
All of the good stuff is in Texas, that's for sure. They have HEB and Buc-ee's, the best stores in the US.

Do you guys have an address for people to send you things to try? I'd love to send you some stuff from the Pacific Northwest of the United States 😊

I'm one of those "lucky" Texans ..... I live within 20 miles (32 km) of TWO Buc-ees!
Your girls' audio is sounding like she is confined in an echo chamber.
They're so funny!
Buc-ee's in Florida and Georgia also
She really needs a better mic, you can't hear her unless the volume is all the way up, but then he is too loud.
You must know that one of the first rules of food is that, often, the more disgusting it looks the better it is. Anyway, yeah, Buc-ee's is cool. Besides Texas, they have locations in 6 or 7 different states in the American south.

wonderful vid
It actually depends on if it's a gas station or a truck stop, there's a difference.
I can’t even hear the lady, especially when she’s talking over the video- very frustrating.
That sums up American capitalism. It’s fantastic! 😂
I've been to two Buc-ees. One East of Dallas Texas, and one North of Dallas. Lots of food my Doctor would shoot me if he saw me eating.. 🙂
If you like this look at Pyramid in Memphis Tennessee.

This has 120 gaspumps they are basically in the south
there are a lot of better videos on Buckee's stores. I recommend you guys take a look at just how big these stores are.
Everything is bigger in Texas
I hope you guys eventually watch them trying barbecue and REAL Super Bowl snacks. MUAH
soo all new buc-ee's are this big. it's a chain. Also there is a lot of food and stuff they sell that they didn't show cause it would take hours.
18-wheelers are not allowed.
Brits eat Texas bbq and world biggest truck stop call lowa 80
This not a truck stop. In fact, big rigs are forbidden from parking. It's a travel stop catering to motorist.
Her audio is terrible. We can hardly hear her.
Bro, you are switching girlfriend too often.
The food in the US is ridiculous. There's a reason we have an obesity problem.
To be fair, most gas stations in the US are not like this. Quite a few are just gas pumps, with, maybe, an air pump to fill your tires, and, a small building for the employees to shelter in.
Are you a time traveler from sixty years ago?
