I bought the 2020 1.5 Petrol IVT... driven 4000+km in 2 months n its awesome... local 13-14+ n highway 19+ mileage. Very comfortable n sturdy drive. Excellent it is.

@@sowmyakolli6409 Hello, I've now done 16k kms... yes its on the harder side but it's good in the long run n on highways when the road grip n weight matters. If you drive slow on the bumps n bad patches you'll not feel it. But then nothing can be done for the unknown ditches. No body-roll is the biggest advantage of hard suspension. Seltos has it slightly on the harder side but not absolute hard. Always remember... since there are disc brakes... not just for Seltos but for all cars... if you approach a ditch or a bump ... apply as much brakes you want before you touch or reach that thing... but make sure to release the brakes slightly to loosen it up.. this way there's no pressure or vibration or grip on the disc when going through a rough patch. You'll see that it goes smoother than when you keep pressing the brakes when driving over a bad patch. So the aim should be to get much slow as required before the ditch/ bump. You'll have less pressure on suspension as well. Try it... n you'll realize how good it works 😊

@@deadpool8422 no problem at all. The concept of automatic is... when u need power to step on the accelerator... the more you step down on the pedal the lower the gear it goes to. For example.. you're at 80 n the auto gear is on 6th .. if you step the pedal ... it shifts to 5th gear n more you press .. it starts shifting to 4th n 3rd depending n that gives you the pick up n speed... hence overtaking is not a problem...
Main point.. the 120 PS and 140 TORQUE is good enough on any given day. PLUS you have the Sports mode that keeps the rpm slightly higher n with a slightest of touch on the pedal the car moves very briskly.
Plus.. the manual override... you think you want to drive as normal geared car... enjoy changing gears without a clutch... best part you only change gears when moving up... when you brake or slow down it automatically lowers the gear. So if you're on 5th gear n apply brakes for a speed braker. .. it'll come down to 1st gear itself...
The 2021 model has pedal shifters n also traction control...
You'd miss nothing!

My drive is mostly in city with occasional highway drive so I was particularly interested in this ivt version only. Thanks for reviewing it. One part which I would like to see is tachometer response when accelerating. Your review didn't include any dash view. Make a small video of that too.

In my experience having driven a Baleno i really hated the CVT on that car ... Jazz was still better and did well to retain the rubberband effect in spite of it being slower than the Baleno on paper.

@@ssr959 mam,,20...lacs ki seltos dct leke Kya fayda.......hmesha driving krte hue tnsn rhegi ki kuch problem na ho jaaye.....if we. are going with our family at hill station or ye dct vaha jaakr koi drama KR de firr. .....upr s turbo ki average bht kam h.... maintenance or care bht jyada h...upr s turbo petrol ki life b bht kam.........best h ki 1.5petrol ivt ......power is more than enough......there is only a difference of 1.5 petrol and 1.4turbo petrol in terms of pick up

Hey, did you try the tiptronic mode of this IVT gearbox? How many shifts/gears does it have? I always though that CVT and IVT don't get tiptronic modes.

My take for #KIAMOTORS kindly launch a htx plus variant for ivt with ventilated seats ,sunroof ,coloured MID,wireless charger and Bose sound system..we can do without 360° camera view,front. Parking sensors ,lane change camera and HUD screen..

There are no gears in CVT/IVT. It's steps which are not gears but management of engine revs to make you feel you're downshifting or upshifting.

I drove IVT, it felt a little underpowered. I cpildnt quickly overtake. High rpm but no movement of the vehicle for 3 seconds. That was boring. I went for diesel mannual. It is definitely better. This IVT is for aged people.

While overtaking u hv to shift to manuaal mode
It only feels underpowered because of it's linear acceleration as opposed to turbo kick. But turbo has an initial lag. So, if you race both side by side, the result will be same.

Problem if CVT is rubber band effect which is quite evident in your drive also. If you need sudden pickup the engine makes noise which is heard. I own amaze CVT which have paddle shifters. Disappointed to see seltos donot have paddle shifters.

Htx diesel manual.... Ivt is not dat gud... I buked ivt and cancelled later and buked diesel auto... Since diesel has torque convertor and the torque is 244 nm whereas in petrol only 144nm...u need not worry go fr diesel

TD petrol ivt few days back.. I must say automatic transmission is way too lethargic and i think even sedate drivers wont like it.. Definitely the model which is avoidable in seltos line up..

Apart from features which htx ivt is missing it does have less power if you drive back to back with dct,but the power is sufficient and HTx ivt is much more silent than gt series and one big plus is if you drive in b2b traffic you won't have to take care of removing your foot completely from brake to avoid creep to avoid dct overheating
