I’m a native speaker from the US. I promise you that most native speakers would not be able to immediately answer the type of questions that the interviewer is asking. The questions are more tests of logic. They require some thought. For example: “How effective might the ways of learning be?” What kind of random question is that? 😂

it’s not hard to answer these questions, it’s not even that hard to use advanced vocabulary, the hard part is TIME LIMIT. it’s very challenging to think of a good answer and use advanced vocabulary in just 1 minute 💔
According to the British Council, I have an upper intermediate level which is supposed to be B2, but I would like a lot to improve so much more in order to achieve a C1 level, that would be really great. Especially, since I'm a History major and the best books, articles and information is written in english. Wish me luck, I'm going to start studying to achieve my goal.

Practice with a clock in your hand. Discipline yourself to maybe one point for each photo, and one reason. Many students make the mistake of going into too much detail on the first photo, because they think they have to explain themselves further. Make sure you answer both questions, and if you've time over at the end (unlikely!) go back and repeat what you have said, paraphrasing.

I took a test on British Council Englishcore and got on C1 level. Actually I wasn't confident that I could achieve that level because I know that my grammar is lacking, my vocabulary is not so rich and not having so much interaction with other people in english. And watching this video I keep asking myself, am I good as them? Gotta take another test.
Do you realize that English levels are on a spectrum?. It's not the same to score high enough to barely pass a C1 exam than it is to be confident enough to consistently get C1 level scores without breaking much of a sweat. If I were you I would remain a bit conservative when it comes to assessing your current English level and not to overestimate it too much. That it not to say that you should undermine your level but to acknowledge that you can get better. By the way , the CAE exam (C1 of Cambridge) has fail rate of over 30% , the highest of all Cambridge exams. It goes without saying that many of them are more underprepared than they want to admit. A well rounded C1 is actually quite hard to reach.
I believe they did their best to be composed, but ultimately, it could be seen that they were panicking at certain points. Although what they pointed out was valid, I wouldn't go as far to say there good points.
You paid for the exam, there's pressure, it's probably the first big exam you take and you see 3 completely random images you could not prepare for and you have no time to prepare your answers, so you have to spitball coherent stuff while showcasing english prowress. With all that in mind their responses were pretty much textbook perfect.
I don't think it matters how good the points themselves were. I am preparing for c1 as well. The key in part 2 is hypothesysing and compare & contrast. You could be saying "but it could be a giraffe in disguise" to the picture of a lion.
I think they answered the questions pretty well. They gave extended stretches of language, pronunciation was clear, and control of grammar was good....You can't pass or fail on the basis of one part of the exam, but we're they to keep up this standard in the other parts, I'd say they'd both get C1. 🤔

@@diegohernandezo2282 In the best case scenario you may have the fluency of a B2 user and this is assuming you're fluent, but based on your grammar and vocabulary you're nowhere near close to C1 lol, perhaps you're still in the B1-B2 range. The only way to know is to sit a serious exam. I got 7.5 overall IELTS score and therefore I'm C1 certified by a real exam btw, also achieving a C1 is much harder than you think and you need to meet other criteria , it's not as simple as claiming you've reached because "you're fluent" lol
