Lollapalooza 92'....This was the most amazing lineup of bands......Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ministry, Lush, Ice Cube, Jesus and Mary Chain.....
Mike Patton I was there... great show...funny thing...my girlfriend and I noticed a guy passed out ....he was snoring...all before the first band...and after the chile peppers and end of the show...flood lights came on and he was still.asleep...expensive nap I say.. !!
Chris Cornell, was 1000 times better voice than Eddie Vedder, but much better than Chris and far, far above Eddie, there was always Layne Staley from Alice in Chains, the great voice of rock in the 90s, and I will always love him to heaven
I lived through this era. I was 12 . My Sister was 6 years older and all her friends were in bands. I feel lucky to have been surrounded by this music. All the other kids at school listened to absolute shit pop chart music. Me and my 4 mates were outsiders. It's good to be an outsider. Ironically the popular kids at school back then now talk as if they also listened to bands like PJ and soundgarden, stp and AIC.
sticksman1979 Cameron was awesome with Soundgarden but sucks with Pearl Jam. Well I guess he fits now but their earlier music I have to say Dave Abbruzzese was the best drummer they had. He is a freaking master at drums and it sucks how Eddie did him though. Just cause Dave Wanted to be famous and enjoyed it so Eddie and Jeff didn't like him they wanted everyone to be and think just like them I guess. I love Eddie Vedder don't get me wrong but that was a dick move. Act like you're cool with him jump on his drum set and whatever else but then made Stone meet him for breakfast to tell him he is fired. They won't even give Dave much recognition not even to this day. Pearl jam 20 or whatever, they said really nothing about him but then boasted on all the other drummers. Yet he practically was a part of getting them to where they were and are. They even left him out of the Rock-'n'-roll hall of Fame where everyone who had something to do with that group should be named.
+IAmTheGrayOne he's not supposed to, they weren't written for him to sing. Cornell is one of the greatest but he couldn't sing half of Pearl Jam songs either
So he was supposed to did otherwise? He is singing in accordance to the original recording which has a low octave and a high octave. He is serving the music not being a "real bro"
+Papatorrejano Good job, you've heard the song. So have the rest of us. Eddie and Chris were pals and seeing the frontman of one highly praised band feature with that of another is cool on its own, but to take the lower range to let his friend's voice shine (hehe) is just a cool gesture. Sorry you missed the point.
@HerrWerlein I feel sorry for today's North American kids... swaying, while socially distanced in stagnant arenas, to mindless lyrics and synthesized music. We were so fucking lucky... but the loss, as such, HURTS to this day. ❤❤🥺
Eddie has spoken numerous x once moving to Seattle at times he felt like the new guy. And he always would say. How Chris was his 1st friend up there. And helped his early awkward new guy status.
I cant imagine the heartbreak Eddie must be feeling at this time and what he will more than likely feel for the rest of his life. They were like two crazy kids in a candy store even back then. I was 17-18ish when most of this stuff hit and it was such a goddamn blast!
His voice is comically deep and out of left field on this, it almost made me laugh because it sounds so ridiculous on this song. The only thing more ridiculous would have been to have the "mmm, mmmm, mmm" song guy come in on the next verse to go lower.
Scott Emrich I kept thinking where's Eddie Vedder ? Who's messing up the song ? Then finally I seen him and thought omg it was him ! He usually doesn't sound that way to me lol
It's like too many greats - too much. This can't get any better. Layne Staley, my god and eddie vedder casually singing by the drum set - like what the fuck? The whole thing just feels so sad today. RIP Chris
I remember going to this concert. Tried sneaking in since I had spent my money on the concert the day before (Candlebox). After security caught me an awesome guy gave me his extra ticket!
Rest In Peace brother Chris Cornell.. Taken back to God way to soon.....Thank you brother for all the inspiration and timeless music you shared with us all. You were truly one of a kind and will be remembered always and Never forgotten music man. You had a voice for the Angels and Heavens Band Has Certainly gained a voice for the new ages.
This might be the apotheosis of the grunge era. This spirit, this energy, this masculinity, these frequencies, this artistry, this elation is so pure, so feral. It arrived, culminated, resolved and is now just a legend, spoken of in whispered tones…
The Grunge movement, rebelling against the glam culture and the mainstream corporate labels became the last and biggest musical revolution that expanded the horizon of Rock 'N Roll.
My sister and I went to Lollapaloozer 92’ In Mansfield Massachusetts, people tore down the fence and made bonfires on the lawn with it, dancin around and jumpin through the fires like a pagan festival 🤪🙃🚀
1992 Loolapalooza at SPAC (Saratoga NY) was amazing. I'm a Soundgraden guy... but it was Pearl Jam that lead to the hundreds of seats being removed from the concrete floor. The most insane concert of my many years.
This was a bad ass show, got to see bits of it on MTV since no stupid ass smart phones! Wish i could have made it there but i did catch em the next year!
@@xxheathenxx6402 absolutely agree, Chris was amazing and unique but he was a belter Eddie’s voice is in fact a baritone and his voice is very deep actually higher vocal range than Chris only sang differently..
This was the shit. The crowd is alive, the fences in the background. I used to be afraid of this when I was younger I thought people would go there and get beat up and stuff haha not knowing that being 24 now and watching this, I wish I was born a little sooner to go be a rebel in the crowd too. RIP Chris you fucking legend.
RIP CHRIS!! :( I am very sad chris was one of my all time favorite singers i mean listen to the pure rawness of his voice ....I ll be down for a while after this one
***** I'm telling you Layne Staley was NEVER seen with a MESA BOOGIE ( guitar gear) t shirt on. Use your head. Looks more like Owen Wilson than Staley!! Wtf
I was in the East coast in university in the early 90's, but to have been in Northern Cal, Portland or just living it in Seattle absorbing the music scene must have been a once in a life time experience. Nothing like it ever again. ....Screaming Trees, Mother Love Bone, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden..etc..Just simply bada$$...

Craig Busick Nice! I saw it in Phoenix and Denver. Tripping balls on mushrooms both times. Oh....those days....
Mike Patton saw 92 in north Carolina!
Mike Patton, I was at that show in Charlotte and again in '93.

at 3:08 when Eddie Vedder comes in with his deep voice.............. I get goosebumps everytime
then they turned his mic down
Eddie didnt sound too good in the mix
meh
Eddie humbly doing his thing at the back. No fuss. No introduction. Just jamming. Classy.
Kim Thayil = quiet confidence.
I've always loved the way that Chris and Eddie's voices sound together.
Chris Cornell, was 1000 times better voice than Eddie Vedder, but much better than Chris and far, far above Eddie, there was always Layne Staley from Alice in Chains, the great voice of rock in the 90s, and I will always love him to heaven

I still like Ed's voice more
My neighbors better get used to Chris Cornell's voice!
You'd have to be deaf to not appreciate Chris Cornells voice!

This is the best comment because it’s true
😂😂😂
I wish I was a teenage during early 90s. Great stuff to hear
It was a great time!!
Arthur Camasi i was Born dec 82 Some Great Music👌
Or the bitch ass millenial "Entitlment" generation of today!!
Born in '72, and grew up in Seattle. I was a teenager when this stuff hit, and it was E.P.I.C!

I miss this shit!!!!I need a show that I can get in the pit to!!
RIP Chris Cornell your music was great gift to humanity. Thank you
Look at Eddie humbly taking the low-ass octave on this one. A real bro
+Dylan Edwards Well it is Soundgarden's show...
I like Eddie but he couldn't sing half of Soundgardens songs

This is probably my favorite live version of this song, I definitely love the contrast of both voices
One of the best voices of rock, Chris Cornell
We had no idea back then just how lucky we were to have all these guys... miss the music, miss the time. #ripchris

1:10 beautiful harmony between Chris and eddie

Me too. I was 18 or 19 in college on this day. I loved and still love every one of these bands.
RIP Chris Cornell. Your voice will never be forgotten. You're no longer in pain.
Doesn't get Eddie Vedder than this
I'm gonna start mixing that into conversations in place of ''any better.'' People probably won't notice!
Veddar is a clown
His voice is comically deep and out of left field on this, it almost made me laugh because it sounds so ridiculous on this song. The only thing more ridiculous would have been to have the "mmm, mmmm, mmm" song guy come in on the next verse to go lower.

ha ha ha....oh wow..took me a sec...but Chris is way better looking than Lieutenant Dan...But, totally..lol
YOU GOT NEW LEGS
But he got legs
Quien puede darse el lujo de tener a Eddie Vedder en los coros.... genial
Eddie Vedder, the humble servant of music stood in the back and killed it
even drunk, Chris's voice was incredible
Cornell rarely went on stage drunk. He said he admired Slash for being able to perform drunk and that he never could pull that off...
@@ObsidianLife he’s definitely drunk here
he's high on something in euphoria mourning vegas

Best lyrics
Best band

One of the best riffs they've ever created
Rest in fucking peace, Chris. I'll never stop blasting my eardrums out with Soundgarden.
i hope he knows the differences hes made in our life. his art...their art helped me in bad times
this by far has been my favorite video the crowd is awesome and so is he exactly how shows were ...
It was a different era--it was magical, chaotic, and amazing. I hope there will be writers out there who will be able to capture all this.
Chris, you will be dearly missed. Thanks for everything.
look at that fucking crowd. we were crazy as shit back in the 90's..no phones up taking selfies..just loving the music and the scene
