    VÅRT LAND
Vårt land, vårt land, vårt fosterland,
    ljud högt, o dyra ord!
Ej lyfts en höjd mot himlens rand,
ej sänks en dal, ej sköljs en strand,
mer älskad än vår bygd i nord,
    än våra fäders jord.
    […]
Din blomning, sluten än i knopp,
    skall mogna ur sitt tvång;
se, ur vår kärlek skall gå opp
ditt ljus, din glans, din fröjd, ditt hopp,
och högre klinga skall en gång
    vår fosterländska sång.
    -Johan Ludvig Runeberg, 1846
Our land, our land, our fatherland,
sound loud, o name of worth!
No mount that meets the heaven’s band,
no hidden vale, no wavewashed strand,
is loved, as is our native North, our own forefathers’ earth.
Thy blossom, in the bud laid low,
    yet ripened shall upspring.
See! from our love once more shall grow
thy light, thy joy, thy hope, thy glow!
And clearer yet one day shall ring
the song our land shall sing.
-Johan Ludvig Runeberg, 1846, transl. Clement Burbank Shaw

The song, from Runeberg's poem about the war when Russia won Finland from Sweden in 1809, was suggested to be the Swedish national anthem aswell, but instead we have "Du gamla du fria" which actually is about the whole of the northern countries.

Den sången Du gamla du fria" valdes för vi fortfarande var i union med Norge. Sången Sverige flagga var också ett förslag.

Påminner mig om en sovjetisk kör. När jag kom till Sankt Petersburg ljöd en liknande kör där.

It is in Swedish, one of Finland's official languages, the language of our choir, and the language the poem was originally written in.

The Finnish and the Estonian national anthems share the melody, but the lyrics - naturally - differ. The melody is not, to our knowledge, sung in Sweden.

This is just the Finnish anthem being sung in Swedish. The Finnish and Estonian anthem have the same melody, but have different lyrics and are sung in different langauges. As for Sweden, they do not have an official national anthem, however "Du gamla, du fria" is universally seen as the anthem of the Swedish people.

It's not the Swedish anthem but Runeberg who wrote this song wrote it in Swedish. It was then copied by the Finns and Estonians.

@@northbreeze0111 this comment was from year ago.
      it was a self note

@@northbreeze0111 It wasn't copied by the Finns as Runeberg was Finnish himself. It was just translated to Finnish and slapped on a German melody that both Finland and Estonia use.
