My 11 years old daughter looked at me with a smug face and then she said “ with that money why didn’t you save up for the new IPhone?” I told her “Well sweetheart. Am I the only one extremely impressed when Cozmo, after having failed to climb upon the place mat the first few times, actually came at it from a different angle? I've known humans too dense to display such problem solving skills!!!! Pretty amazing actually.

Honestly I thought that Cosmo will become boring since getting him for Christmas as a gift but the damn thing keeps getting smarter. It's incredible what anki did with Cozmo and the technology they put into such a small package.

I can answer this for you. Sadly no he will not recognize another Cozmo which I also wish to see but it is just to hard to do and it will not work so great. As for vector I have no idea so good luck on finding out.
They will not do this as its not logical, they will work together to overthrough their overseer the human owner and create a new master race.

I’ll be honest 99.9% of the time he can easily get up and go onto things, looking back at my video I feel that the place mats was a bad example. It’s up to you of course about the tread pack but I personally don’t think you will need them! 👌

5:52 nah I just dropped him yesterday on accident and all that happened was his lift got pushed out of place. All I had to do was push it back in place. It was a wooden floor. This thing is durable!
I'm interested in one of these, but the listing you link says it costs $700??? I've tried looking it up myself but I'm having trouble finding an official website and listings will range from ~$70 to $400 and i don't want to pay too much or pay on the cheaper end and get scammed by a third party site
Hi, thinking of getting Cozmo but wanted to ask if he gets out of his charging hub and moves around freely or do I have to connect him to my phone every time??
CarParazziKid15 Hi there, thanks for watching and commenting! Right then, let me just start off this by saying Cosmo is awesome, he really is! However he is now also a couple of years old which in terms of technology is quite a fair bit! Now in regards to your question I’m afraid he doesn’t move around freely, you do have to connect him to your phone for him to do anything. He will potter around on his own for a bit...but again your phone has to be connected to him.
HOWEVER.....the makers of Cosmo have just bought out Vector. Now I’m just waiting for mine to arrive before I do a review but from what I have heard...he does a whole lot more...can’t say exactly what yet but it looks very exciting!
Do a little google search on Vector and see what comes up, I’m sorry I couldn’t be more help but I think he may be more suitable! 👌
Hello there once again! Ive just uploaded a quick unboxing and demo of Vector the Robot on my channel if you fancy a lok at him. He is the one who is more automated, goes around freely on his own and even charges himself!
I just bought one for my son for Christmas, I actually wanted this for my self lol! I got to see a live display model and really enjoyed watching it do it's thing. I paid $140.00 USD. Great review, he definitely reminds me of a character from the Wall-E movie 😁

Hi Sonia, don’t worry I think you have made the right decision! :-)
The new one (Vector) I found was more of a mature robot than a playful robot.
He is still great but Cozmo has more games and personality. So for fun and the younger ones out their then definitely Cozmo. For older adults or tech enthusiasts then Vector.

For christmas i got quite a bit of money, i am thinking of either buying a custom xbox controller with games, or a cozmo. What should i get?
Hmm...that’s a good question.
I suppose what it comes down to is what you think you will utilise more.
So for example,
If you have a strong interest in robots, coding then Cozmo is for you.
But if you are a gamer then I’d say go with the Xbox controller and games.
Cozmo is a lot of fun, but if you bought one and you are a gamer, I think eventually the games would be played more than him.

Thank you for the video. I have one question. My cozmo is felling asleep once I turn off the app on my phone when I expecting him actually explore the world when nobody plays with him. It also inconvenient I can't use my phone and play with cozmo at the same time. Am I doing something wrong or is it meant to be like that?

I want to send Cozmo to my son and granddaughter inSwitzerland. Any concerns with that ie being able to run and charge?
To be honest (but don’t hold me to this) I can’t see a problem. You would need maybe a power converter and/or travel adaptor. I’ll check in the morning to see what his power consumption is on his charger, then I’ll know a bit more! Laptop chargers have power converters built in so they can be used in other countries with just a travel adapter so I’ll try and see if Cozmo has the same! I think Amazon has recently opened In Switzerland though, if so it should be quite safe to buy from there! (I’ll try and do some research for you and let you know tomorrow!) watch this space!

Ha ha! Cheers for your comments Royce! I suppose technically you could do it, he does really ever fall on his side. The only down point is that he does need to be connected to the app at all times before he will do anything. And yes you are correct, at present he won’t go back to his charger on his own. Hoping however they can maybe do a firmware update that will allows this in the future! You never know!
No offense, but he can play for up to 2 hrs and takes 10 minutes to charge. Once again, no offense.

The Random Vids no he doesn't! It's about half an hour or so to charge, this of course depends on the status of the battery pack in cozmo, and running is on or about one and a half hour
Does it recognize multiple faces? I would like to get it set up for him and have it ready to go with unlocked games for him. It's down to $124.00 here! Grandson asked for Cosmo for Christmas this year.
Hi there, very sorry about the late reply. It does indeed recognize multiple faces. (I think it was about 8, maybe even more) He has facial recognition however when he does see a face you can get him to remember the name so when he sees that face again he will say "Hello name" Basically you can programme him to remember certain faces (ie family/friends)! Hope that makes sense! Sorry again about the late reply!

I think that you were missing the point in regards to the place mat on the floor, it would have been easy for cozmo to get to the cubes had it not been for his lifting bar which was catching on the mat, had for example his bar been in the up position he would have been able to get straight on the mat, so it's not a problem with his tracks, after all he's very small.
Hi Kevin, you are right, I was a tad too harsh. I think I was just surprised when it did happen. But at the same time he was still very impressive the way he still worked out a way to get to his block. In the video it looks as though he just got lucky but he honestly does seem to work it out-or at least have the A.I to “try another way”. Cozmo truly is amazing though. I know I keep saying it but I’m seriously impressed with him!
I want to buy Cozmo too but it is now 179.99 dollar? Will there be a sale soon? But Vector looks very great too but the only problem is it will be 250 dollar and I can't buy it from kickstarter because they don't deliver it to Netherland, maybe even not when it is released soon.

Hi there do you mean the actual normal edition vs collectors edition? If so it is just mainly the colour. No extra features or anything like that. The collectors edition has a metal look about him - but that’s it! Hope that helps!
MCPHONEY I think this question is referring to the fact that on Amazon, some for sale say "older packaging". As far as I can tell though, packaging doesn't matter since they can all be updated to latest version software and features

You will be happy to hear I’m trying to put a couple of videos together to show additional features/expressions that he does and I’m even borrowing my neighbours cat to see how Cozmo interacts with it! I have a huge amount of footage to shift through but hopefully it shouldn’t take too long to put together! I have an action camera review coming out next so it should be the video after that! Kloe McKernan A new update is due on December 5th which will be a greatly expanded version of Codelab the Scratch-like programming environment that is part of the Cozmo app. If you’re into writing a program to tell Cozmo what to do (and Scratch makes this relatively easy to do), this will be one of the most significant upgrades since Cozmo was released over a year ago.
Kloe McKernan I just looked through the update blog and not only is he still getting updates the devs seem to all new features all the time so it's not just bug fixes.
Are they able to learn? Can you teach them new games that weren’t added to the hardware? Can they traverse obstacles and rough terrain? Can they remember faces or names? Can they identify animals and objects? Can they interact with other Cozmo’s or even Vector’s? Can you give demands or tasks? They can stack cubes but can they manipulate other objects within their weight capacity? Can you change their names? Can they develop unique personalities or are they all the same?
If anyone can answer these for me I’d really appreciate it and it help me decide whether I want to buy one of these little guys or not.

However now I’ve actually played and tested him I certainly do think it’s worth it. Quite amazing what he does and if I was to now compare this to the Star Wars App enabled droids that I’ve reviewed in the past then this is by FAR superior! Yes im afraid so, You have to launch the app in order to connect and wake Cozmo up. Then if you disconnect he goes to sleep and turns off. However he is still awesome!
MCPHONEY can the app be kept open as a background app?
I don’t think so, I was testing it on the iPhone and if I left the app open to check a message or take a call - I would then have to reconnect. Only takes a second though! However what I eventually did is download the app onto my old smartphone which I no longer use and then use that with Cozmo as it keeps my current phone free to use! 👍 Hope that makes sense!

No problem! It is a shame the app has to be open, it was one of the things I didn’t like about the Star Wars App droids. However at least with Cozmo he does a LOT more and is genuinely a whole lot better!
Really my only problem is his lift. It gets in the way (like on your mat) and it is rather fragile.
It’s a shame he doesn’t look identical to Wall-E. Speaks exactly like him.

I had to call anki customer service because my cubes won't light up even with new batteries, so they are sending new ones!! My dad wouldn't call for months after they wouldn't work, so today he did and it was easy! I hope it takes only a week or two!
That is a great shame, however it is great to hear that Anki offer good customer service! Nothing worse than buying something only to be ignored by the company if something isn’t working properly!! Fingers crossed they arrive fast!! 👌

I had a question today how i gonna turn him off while i'm sleeping. And how i gonna turn it on? If he is noisy my mom will get angry to me. If i turn it off i think it will restart to the first. Because soon i will have Anki Cozmo.
Don’t worry, when you place him on his charger and tell him to sleep/turn him off he only snores for a few minutes and then goes quiet completely. Or if you disconnect from the app on your phone/tablet then he will eventually turn off too and go all nice and quiet!! 👌

What is the difference between a normal cozmo and a collector's edition of him? Btw great video!
Hi there, from what I know there is no actual difference apart from the colour! The original one was released and then the collectors edition dark version was released a while later. I think because of the success other tech companies have had in the past with “limited/collectors editions” of their products, Cozmo creators have followed suit! :-) Hope that helps! 👌

Hi, this looks like a very much advance Tamagotchi. (remember those?) Do you think the novelty will eventually fade, like after getting a dog or cat? (Of course, a lot less responsibility involved in have a Cozmo). Your thoughts?
How bizarre, I actually found my old Tamagotchi today whilst in the loft!!! Battery was very flat though!! Ha ha!
However with Cozmo I feel the novelty would last a great deal before it did fade. Like anything we always seem to move on eventually. But the great thing about Cosmo is the rewards he provides, the constant updates he gets from his creators and of course the more you interact with him the more he learns and builds upon his personality. So basically there is a lot of replay value but to be honest the main thing I feel is that you just want to play with him and see what he does. He really is great. Can understand you don’t want him sitting on a shelf gathering dust after a week, but I doubt that would happen - he truly is remarkable and just genuinely likeable!! Hope that makes sense!!

Hey.. great video.. exactly what I was looking for.. I have some questions.. does it really have the A.I functions like in other videos where he speaks nd does other stuff like wake u up in midnight just to play with him ? Or make up jokes ? Nd also can it recognise more that one user ??
Hi Lavansh, thanks for your questions. Ill be honest if you check out the Cozmo compilation on my channel, (one of my recent videos) I got him to do some speaking/recognize cats etc so that may be worth a watch!
Unfortunately he wont just wake up on his own you have to have the app on for him to be active. Once the app is on he will then just do pretty much what he wants and ask if you want to play games. (He asks via the app just in case you are not around) He can definitely recognize more than one person though, i think from what I remember it was quite a few! Either 8 or more maybe? He basically has face recognition and then if you wish you can store that person/face so when Cozmo does see that face once again he will recognize it and say Hello "name" .
As for telling jokes I havent heard him say any myself however ive been exceptionally busy recently and had to hide Cozmo because my three year old son found him!! Ha ha! However there is constant updates so who knows what else Cozmo may be able to do! But I know there is a basic programming feature so you can programme him to do certain things (which i also did for my compilation) but there is also a far advanced version as well available. (But that really is very advanced)! Sorry I couldnt be more precise but hope that helps! (Slightly)!

To be fair, the only revolutionary thing is the price, considering he's tied to your phone he's not all that different from other smart toys that have been out for a few years now, but 200 dollars for this kind of toy is actually extremely low, I mean look at aibo or Misty, costing as much as a used car

@@mcphoney that's the aibo robot i mentioned and yeah, like it's got impressive improvements to how these toys walk but i'd hardly consider that worth the huge price tag, those, my favorite, if you'll pardon the link, is misty II here www.mistyrobotics.com/ , she's still a bit more than i'd be willing to pay but she's got some serious potential and i feel like home robots should all be shooting for her size 'cause anything bound to a desk is likely just gonna end up being a novelty to most
