Her life began when her mom, a mother of 6 before she was 24, bought, on credit, a set of Britannica encyclopedias! Growing up on a tobacco farm, Betsy Ann Cooksey's family was so far from a library. They knew how to work, helping dad plant, grow, and harvest our crop of tobacco.
She would pour over the books discovering all the fascinating places that she wanted to see!
After 14 years, (working full time with part-time gigs) she earned her masters in economics and the World Bank shipped her around the world to create jobs and a tax base in developing nations. Fast-forward many decades. At 66, life twisted, and she ruptured, as divorce has a way of doing. Financially, physically and emotionally, she had ruptured. In this reality, she was sick, angry and lost. Seeking help, after an odd phone call to an acquaintance, she found herself on a half-broken horse in Mongolia having an adventure that has brought passion and purpose to her life! She became a philanthropic athlete at 72, and now knows what she wants her life to be!!!
Rupture to Rapture!!! Mongolia healed her spirit! She now has gear, a horse, a saddle and an extended family in Mongolia!!!
