One of the most brutal endings in MMA fight ever. The choke, the way Lyoto fell down, the walkaway...
Picture perfect.
Lyoto looks small. Kind a middleweight. Even Strickland looks bigger.
@@azriladha most of them looked small compared to Jon, didn't they?
@@azriladha LHWs of that time were Middleweights all of them, except Jon.
@@yendevus1747not all. Phil Davis, Gustafsson, Rumble, Bader and Stephan Bonnar would be LHW sized today for example. Dudes were big. Surely there's others I can't recall right now. Rashad definitively would be a MW today though
Emmet vs Mitchell comes to mind but yeah amazing stuff here
Most fear I've experienced watching a fight ending live. Looks like he killed him and just walks off as if he is leaving a supermarket. Coldest finish ever.
🐐 doing 🐐 things.
Fighting a featherweight in comparison, while in PEDs isn’t a good look. Fake legacy 😂
Stop it. Ngannou sending reem to the moon who confirmed nasa faked it was way scarier
@@SatoshiShin you realise they're all the same weight right, that's what weight divisions are for. Maybe you meant taller.
@@russellwestbrookyellingatw9381 Lol, people are just being delusional, tbh.
The way Machida fell was terrifying. Still sends chills down my spine every time I see it.
Your spine was not broken!
@@CityNative practice late night
Fighting a featherweight in comparison, while in PEDs isn’t a good look. Fake legacy 😂
@@SatoshiShin Uncle Chael said "I was more juiced than a Tropicana bottle" during their fight and he still couldn't handle Jon's power. Literally everyone is running PEDs, it's just Jon was a moron and didn't get away with it. And for the record I *despise* Jon Jones, but using PEDs is a weak argument. His legacy is ruined by being a colossal sh*t stain on humanity, not PEDs.
@SatoshiShintoMe Yea I agree. At the time I didnt know, I was just a kid. I just know it still stands as perhaps the coldest choke in UFC history. And to see it happen to our boy Machida at the time was Unreal.
AND TILL THIS DAY THAT IS ONE OF THE MOST SCARIEST CHOKE EVER.

@@yendevus1747 Brother back in the day Jon used to walk around at 220 and before he became champion he walked around at 213. Hundreds of LHW is 6,4. You dont know what you are talking about.
Even though Lyoto lost, he gave a great account of himself. I loved this fight. It has that old school feel
He’s one of my favorite fighters. One of the few I’ve seen bow with respect when he knocks out opponents. Respect
Crazy that this is probably ks considered old skool now, as its been over 13 years!
Truly one of the best versions of machida we’ve ever seen. Arguably one of the best rounds against Jon ever.
Felt like a Pride Grand Prix fight you're right
Dude got slept😂
All jokes aside when I was watching this fight I thought Machida was dead💀
"Omg MOM HE KILLED HIM "😂😂😂
Same lol! The way he fell
Must have never watched a choke out before in UFC yes people pass out
@@PinHeadThePopeOfHellBut not like this...
@@lightmyfire1892 yes they do I've been watching UFC since the first one. He was just standing up so when he collapsed it looked worse than it was. When you're choked unconscious your whole body goes out just like when you're dead every single time.
“His legs are almost comically thin” 😭😭😭
I was looking for this comment 😭😭
Deontay Wilder has got some but is a heavyweight division fighter😊
you should say that in front of him
Getting big calves is definitely harder for some than others. Some people have crazy calf muscle genetics. But jot me, I gotta train Them hella hard to get any growth.
@@todetelicjon jones doesn’t know you
9:53 that walk away is most badass thing ever. no celebration, no stupid expressions. cold as hell.
So scary that a lot of people in this moment were checking if Lyoto was still alive. Crazy finish by Jones
How long does it take to choke someone to death..? Im scared to do it. Thus far i settled all my fighs with words, a tight grab or legkicks lol, never fought a good fighter though.. the legkick fight was funny, the dude had no idea what to do. He kept falling and i kept telling him to f*** off. I wonder if he limped after that, he flew off on his moped agreeing to f off
Lyoto may be smaller size than jones at 6’1 . But he’s insanely skillful and speedy . Sometimes smaller size can give you advantage too especially speed and being explosive . Lyoto has to be of the best strikers in MMA history . Jones adjustment for the 2nd round was a masterclass . We can learn a lot from this fight
Speed is how small guys cope... It's doesn't work in long run.
They are in the same weight class wdym?
Jon was in his Randy Orton Legend Killer phase in his younger days. Straight up merking legend after legend. It was incredible to witness!
Yep beating up a bunch of old dudes. That’s why his “legacy” isn’t going to age as well as he thinks. People are already putting guys like Volk ahead of him even though Volk has losses, he has beaten the best of the best in their prime.
@@CoNiCuZn they were all in their early 30s which is prime mma age. Lol stop hating.
He was not legend killer dear! 😅
@@CoNiCuZn old ones!
@@aristotle9243
Age ≠ mileage. Casual.
Not enough people are talking about Lyoto landing some seriously good shots against Jones. I guess the brutal choke kinda makes it that way.
Lyoto did really well considering he fought against Jones and nobody ever beat Jones
If jones stood with lyoto the whole fight, he was going to sleep
@@dyfox3856 if's buts maybe's. woulda coulda shoulda. all irrelevant.
I think lyoto got plenty of praise from the commentary. He didnt just lose that fight. He was outclassed over 80% of the time.

Once Jones figured out Lyoto’s blitz - it was over. That right hand before the takedown was the beginning of the end. Absolutely brutal ending lol
Love Lyoto, great era of fighters
Man, life was so much simpler back then..
I hate getting old...
Even with all the controversy, whether you like it or not you have to admit that this man has the best resume of all time 💯
Props to Machida one of the first fighters to take a round off Jones.

It was a good fight but not enough to become new champ. Second fight shows that to be right decision. The Reyes fight I feel the same way, it was a good fight but challenger has to go out ans dominate to take the belt.. IMO
it’s crazy how this is Jon’s 4th fight in a span of 10 months.
"Calves comically thin" 😂😂😂💀
The coldest and most badass submission finish ever
I miss Big John in the ring. Stalking around the background mean mugging everyone. Legend!
And a lot of people hate on Jones now days but that man fought all monsters and made it look easy
lot of middleweights while he was on PEDs.. He's a fraud and a cheat who is publicly ducking Aspinall
Because he was on performance enhancing drugs. That's how he managed to manhandle all these monsters
Oh yeah, his resume is UNBELIEVABLE, and he's still fighting and winning. No ones even close to Jon in terms of his career and being the GOAT. A lot of people hate on him though, so most won't be realistic about Jon. There may never be a career like that again, if there it will be a long time.
@@billj4525 GSP has a more well-rounded resume than Jones. Minus the controversy.
@jboi6398 gsp was a notorious ducker and cheat. Grease gate, anyone? And I like gsp
And this day the single most cold blooded finish was done
This fight was so good. Both fighters did their blitz kick punch punch. I like how bones put him to sleep. That was too cool of a move
I think Lytos mistake was waiting too long to strike, he had many chances and just get in and attack.
Jon Jones ultimate heel move at the end LMAO
Still one of the most interesting matchups ever
i LOVE the style trunks jones wears. Reminds me of old roman fighters
Every cupole of years i come back to this fight lol, that's some nasty work🔥
I feel a Jon Jones v Stipe Miocic announcement is near
Too soon
It should be, I am waiting for it since long.
This fight is one of the MAIN reasons I fell in love with this awesome and violent sport!!

Both super great fighters. Thank you both...
UFC posting an old Jon jones fight~ ”Jon go make some fans!”
We stand with you Jon 🌈
Absolutely nothing wrong with him being gay
First openly gay 🏳️🌈 UFC light HW champion
There is nothing wrong with being gay. Jones is proof of that
These people are part of the problem
Not just men either...
You know you are the Goat when you 24 longer bigger taller entering your prime beating a man 33 years old leaving his prime that's Goat status right there.
John's ability to change the strategy midfight is so accurate
It's like watching a WW vs LHW superfight😂
Machida was 6’1 he wasn’t a small dude
@@ProfessionalCurryDefender And his reach is 74in while Jones reach is 85in. A massive 11in reach advantage😂 Not to mention about min 20 pounds weight advantage, that's clearly visible!
@@mohammedqadeer5966 jones has a massive reach advantage even against guys that are bigger than Lyoto. He literally has the longest reach in the ufc. Also the only thing that was noticeable was the height difference jones really didn’t start getting that big until a couple years ago
@mohammedqadeer5966 Machida walked at 225lbs during this period of time, Jones was maybe 230-235 at most.
The size difference was mostly reach but Jones reach even at HW is longer than most
My favorite finish in UFC history
That choke still gives me the shivers
the discrepancy between the quality in their photos is the funniest part of this entire video honestly
man this Jon Jones was scary
The first round Jon Jones lost in his career, also great adapting by him between rounds. This was a good fight between two great legendary fighters💪
ONE OF THE COLDEST CHOKE EVER.
I almost forgot how Joe would talk about Jones’ chicken legs every fight lol.
One of the best finishes ever. Jones is a real killer
Fav summision
After the choke John had that walk like he just got out the swimming pool 😂
that left hand that dropped machida was so perfectly set up
Imagine Big John didn’t step in to take Jon off Machida it would of been the first UFC death by Strangulation
9:50 a guy said hes out, what a nice guy
both showed great heart in this fight, they both got hit with bombs and kept their composure
That was the tightest guillotine I’ve ever seen Jon wasn’t being dramatic when he said he could’ve broken his neck there. Machida was out in 5 seconds.
Coldest submission ever
Joe calling Jon’s legs ‘almost comically thin’ 😂
My man is the size and shape of a beer keg - its easy to be thicker when youre that low to the ground😂
Disclaimer- I have Jon Jones Body shape😭
Doesn't change the fact he has chopsticks for legs
Ummm … it’s objectively factually true, look at his calves. His calf measurement is about average for a man of 160-170 lbs.
This is my GOAT of MMA, no one is even close 🐐🐐🐐
This fight and the shogun fight made me a JBJ fan💯 dude was demolishing that division.
Give us Aspinall vs Jones.
Jones is too scared. Blatantly ducking like he ducked Ngannou.

Stipe if he wants it
@@Slim-MMA well he's a lot smaller than Francis.... so he took his time.... why does Jones have to chase anyone?
It will happen but not this year
The speed of that left hook coming from Jon to intercept Machida's straight was insane. One of the most shocking endings that I've seen in MMA.
Machida is my all time favourite fighter and I loved how this was probably the best anyone has ever done in a round against Jones. But this really shows the levels above Jones is when he adjusted in the next round and ended it so brutally.

Sure. Guy literally beat legends and championship after champions while he was still a kid (23) yet he's scared of a one dimensional power puncher and Stipe Miocic 2.0? 😂😂
The entire vibe changed when the fight went to the ground, it went from bouncing around and getting a few good strikes on each other, warming up, to Jon absolutely mudering Lyoto with his elbows and choking him out.
That really is one of the most brutal finishes in UFC history. Dude drops Lyoto like a bad habit after the choke.
Jon jones loves middleweights
Khabib loves featherweights
Says this whilst his boy Pereira literally fought the vast majority of his career at Middleweight weight bullying smaller opponents and knocking them out like it's going out of fashion.
Jones on the other hand has competed at the two highest weight classes, yet you want to claim he "loves Middleweights."
Ridiculous comment.
You do realise Jones walked around 223-225 when he was at LHW? Whilst your boy Pereira stepped into the cage against Hill weighing 232lbs.
