can you help me, mdx61b always in safe mode (safe stop U.) jumpers in X17 connected right.
Great job keep ...
We need moviplc also
Hi. do you have guide video controls speed ,ramp (n11/n12, n13) via communication modbus or ethernet with PLC
thank so much
Any instruction how to remove 2 in seven segment "not enable"?
Hi sir
How to change ip address of my new sew drive?
Can u help me to solve fault 13,selection source error, in the programe it is fieldbus, but I only have rs485.what can I do for rectifiying

Hello.. I have a MDX61B with memory.. I need to replace the MDX61B,,
The new MDX61B brings the memory . How can I transfer the program to the new memory?
We do not recommend removing the red colored memory module located on the top of the inverter to replace a MOVIDRIVE as this can cause faults to occur. Please reference these timestamps in this video to use the MotionStudio software to upload and then download the parameters to the new MOVIDRIVE.

If you don’t have Ethernet connection to the MOVIDRIVE then you will need a USM21A adapter (part number: 28231449) to connect the computer to the serial port of the MOVIDRIVE below the 7-segment display.
I need assistance in assigning a fix IP address to a sew movidrive using motionstudio software
Depending on your model: he MFE62A is for our decentralized inverters like the MOVIMOT D, and it is not used for the Movidrive B inverter, so the process is different than what you’ll find in these training videos.
We recommend reading the manual here starting at page 47 to familiarize yourself with the device. download.sew-eurodrive.com/download/pdf/22511466.pdf.
You can set the IP address using MotionStudio and changing the necessary parameters in the menu tool named ‘MFE Gateway Configurator’ when you right-click on the MFE62A device in the network tree after you scan for it in the network. If that process isn’t familiar to you, you can also use your own address editor from the PLC manufacturer that will be communicating with the inverter to set the IP address parameters.”
Can I back up the Moviddrive B via ethernet cable? If yes, in which mode should the drive be kept? Please reply sir please please
Hello. You can perform a parameter backup over the Ethernet fieldbus network using MotionStudio. It is usually ok to backup the parameters to the PC while the inverter is in operation. However, if it is a large application with many inverters or peak network traffic it could cause the application to halt. If this is a concern, then you could halt the application before doing any parameter backups. The 7-segment display of the Movidrive B may show "2", "1", "0", "U" when the application comes to a halt but the inverter is still powered on.
You can see the description of the 7-segment display states on page 671 of the manual linked below.

Any help on how to fix F08 error on SEW servo motor. Appreciate much.
F08 is a “catch-all” fault and can have numerous causes. It could be the motor brake isn’t releasing or dragging. The inverter parameters such as the speed or ramp time could have changed. The motor wiring may be reversed (not permitted for servo motors).
In simple terms the F08 means the inverter is outputting too much motor current or the motor speed isn’t matching what the inverter is expecting (direction of rotation or speed deviation). The process to troubleshoot will determine on how the inverter parameters are configured and how the application normally operates when it’s not faulting. With this fault you have to approach it with a process of elimination to determine the root cause.
We recommend you reach out to your local SEW-Eurodrive office for troubleshooting.

- Outside the US: www.sew-eurodrive.de/meta-pages/contacts_worldwide.html
If you want to attempt troubleshooting by yourself - start with is conducting a scope recording. An example of how to conduct scopes is found in Lab 7 Part 1 & 2, and Lab 8 of this training course here: ua-cam.com/play/PLzeWpl48pUGwylnK5tHYQ6QBFAdHX5W7c.html
In the scope tool, start with measuring the motor current, motor speed, and the encoder/resolver counts in IPOS Variable H0511. In the scope graph you would be looking out for high motor current, motor speed not matching the setpoint speed, and the H0511 direction of rotation being opposite of what it’s supposed to be.
@@SEWEurodriveUSA thank you. Uploaded video tutorials help us a lot.
Long shot, but is there a way to get out of Manual Mode over Ethernet? The drive is in Manual Mode (H displayed). I can connect to it over ethernet, change parameters, backup etc, but I can not use the MoviTools Manual mode (from the startup tab) as I get a warning the drive is already in Manual mode, then I get an error code of movilink error 0x8 0x11 (Not yet implemented). I do NOT have a DBG60B or UWS21B. Can I do the standard reset? Thanks
Hello. I just tested this on a demo unit and this is what I found.
If Manual Mode was started from MotionStudio then you can always deactivate Manual Mode properly using the software over RS485 (using the Serial to USB adapter) or over Ethernet. It doesn't matter if Manual Mode was started with RS485 or Ethernet. You should be able to deactivate it with the software in both scenarios.
However, if Manual Mode was started from the DBG60B Keypad and then it was unplugged, or if the MOVIDRIVE was powered down before exiting Manual Mode from the Keypad properly, then the only way to exit Manual Mode in that scenario is to use another DBG60B keypad to exit Manual Mode properly. Alternatively, you can use RS485 (through the Serial to USB adapter) with MotionStudio to exit Manual Mode properly. This is because the Manual Mode handshake was started over RS485 with the Keypad and it doesn’t allow Ethernet to terminate that handshake. So, you would need to use RS485 to deactivate Manual Mode properly.
You can contact a local distributor to purchase an RS485 adapter. It is called the USM21A (The USB11A adapter mentioned in these videos has been discontinued but will work if you can get a hold of one). Here is the SEW part number for the new USM21A adapter, p/n: 28231449.
@@SEWEurodriveUSAThanks for your help!
We just tested another workaround. You could factory reset the MOVIDRIVE to clear it from the stuck Manual Mode. This would be fine to do if this is a spare MOVIDRIVE and the previous user left it in Manual Mode.
However, you would not want to factory reset a primary MOVIDRIVE that has the correct parameters on an existing application because it will completely wipe all those settings. You would need to have a known good backup before doing this. The parameter backup file extensions should end with “.VD0” or “.MDX” depending on which version of software did the backup.
I tested uploading a parameter backup while it is stuck in Manual Mode, then factory resetting, and then reloading the parameter backup. In that scenario, the stuck Manual Mode condition returns after the reload is complete. So, backing up the parameters right now while it is stuck will not work to clear it for you.
If you know you have a good parameter backup prior to the stuck Manual Mode condition, then you could factory reset the MOVIDRIVE and reload the prior parameters that were backed up to clear the MOVIDRIVE from the stuck condition.
Parameter P802 Factory Setting set to “Delivery State” will factory reset the MOVIDRIVE.
You can use the MotionStudio tool inside “Startup --> Data Management” to upload and download the parameters over the Ethernet. You can also perform the “Delivery State” over Ethernet as well.
The default IP Address for the MOVIDRIVE after a “Delivery State” is 192.168.10.4. You can force this address as well by toggling on the “DEF IP” switch on the front of the Ethernet option card before you power on the MOVIDRIVE. You will need to turn that switch off before it will allow you to set a custom IP Address in parameter P780.
@@SEWEurodriveUSA Thanks for all your help. Unfortunately I only have a backup made since stuck in manual mode. It's controlling a SEW CMP100M Servo motor being used as a spindle. If I can not track down a DBG60B or USB dongle in time, I may factory reset, then manually enter the setup/parameters from the backup. The motor/spindle are currently clamped down on a bench, not in a production environment. Again thanks for your help. I'll update how I make out.
@@SEWEurodriveUSA Success after a bit of failure. I connected a generic USB->RS485 to the X13 ST11/ST12 terminals (terminals 10/11). I could view/set parameters. Still could not get into manual mode in MotionStudio. I get the same dialog that it's "Another manual mode is still active"..."Do you still want to quit manual mode"? I click yes and a dialog says "Manual mode already active (session ID occupied)" . I click OK, and I get error MoviLink error (0x8, 0x19): Access permitted via ST1 only!. The documentation (Section 15.2 Information Messages) states: Manual mode must be completed using X13: ST11/ST12 (RS485). Which is what I was connected to the unit with. I then disconnected the RS485 and went back to ethernet. Factory reset, reconfigured the motor and all is good now. I can use manual mode. Thanks for your help
