I am a Zoologist, and here is what I find intriguing: Black Panthers, despite being classified as either leopards or jaguars, when you compare their head shape and the body you will find so many differences between them and a leopard or a jaguar, it is just not the same, when I look at a black panther’s head and a jaguar or a leopard’s head, it looks too different, what I believe is that there are indeed black jaguars and black leopards and in some of them you can clearly see the dots but I choose to believe that Black Panthers are a separate species and I will continue to treat them as so
So you mean to tell me that there's a chance that there's a JAGPERD/JAGUERD you guys could decide on the name whichever one you guys like more. And there's also a chance that there's a LEOGUAR/ LEOPUAR. You guys could I choose the name you guys like the most but nonetheless that's crazy that there's a chance that there's these types of cats in the wild?!!!
Calling them "black panther" makes no sense at all since a "panther" is a black jaguar/leopard, because that would suggest "panther" is a species of its own that can exist with other color patterns than just black.
It's obvious they are not a separate species cuz they are either usually physically shown to be melanistic leopards or jaguars with excess skin pigmentation.
A lot of people confuse black Jaguars and leopards for Panthers. They are of the predatory feline species of big cats but Panthers are larger, broader and have more mass than a jaguar or leopard. They're more like a sleek black lioness than any of the other big cat species.
Close to Nichols South Carolina I seen a black panther two different times, plus two different friends about 5 miles away in different directions have seen them on trial cams

@F.W. ok so what type of mutation of human melanin was shown on the screen then? There’s no other way to depict melanism in humans other than showing a black person, or a person of dark complexion. Showing a white guy does their explanation of “a dark pigment also common to humans” no justice whatsoever. Don’t try to justify it
actually every Human produces Melanin (unless you are Albino) even white people, ever heard of a tan. There is also a condition called melanoma in humans.
@@forickgrimaldus8301 ACTUALLY, the Suns ultraviolet light can cause major damage to the skin. Ever heard of sun burn? Melanoma is Skin cancer, melanin isn’t. Don’t confuse the two. Melanoma can be pink, tan, or even white. Melanoma is caused by skin cells that begin to develop abnormally, like from tanning beds that idk only mostly white people use, which along with the sun, causes too much exposure to UV rays . Melanoma IS NOT caused by melanin. Try again! You can’t justify the usage of a white face when discussing the appearance of melanin. White peoples skin is more related to Albinism than it is to a person of color
@@forickgrimaldus8301 also, Melanoma isn’t a natural in human beings, as Melanin is, it is something that is developed because of skin damage caused by UV Rays. Don’t spread misinformation

Interesting To Note, merci.
Good video !!!
I am a Zoologist, and here is what I find intriguing: Black Panthers, despite being classified as either leopards or jaguars, when you compare their head shape and the body you will find so many differences between them and a leopard or a jaguar, it is just not the same, when I look at a black panther’s head and a jaguar or a leopard’s head, it looks too different, what I believe is that there are indeed black jaguars and black leopards and in some of them you can clearly see the dots but I choose to believe that Black Panthers are a separate species and I will continue to treat them as so
Well their DNA completely matches leopards and jaguars. Although there are (very rare) tigers who are black panthers. Like a supersized black panther
Not true.
So you mean to tell me that there's a chance that there's a
JAGPERD/JAGUERD you guys could decide on the name whichever one you guys like more.
And there's also a chance that there's a
LEOGUAR/ LEOPUAR. You guys could I choose the name you guys like the most but nonetheless that's crazy that there's a chance that there's these types of cats in the wild?!!!
jaguar-leopard hybrids have been made in zoos already
@@wermthewerm precisely guarantee you that a wild one compared to a zoo one is way different way bigger way aggressive
The peregrine falcon versus the Eastern Kingbird
Nature perfectionist the black panther. Period.
Calling them "black panther" makes no sense at all since a "panther" is a black jaguar/leopard, because that would suggest "panther" is a species of its own that can exist with other color patterns than just black.
Jaguar’s are my favourite of the big cats. The black one is so incredibly beautiful and the ultimate killing machine
They're more like a sleek black lioness than any of the other big cat species.
believe it or not but ive seen one of these in the bush of Victoria Australia
The hype? That’s what you feel when a new vid is uploaded on this channel
Close to Nichols South Carolina I seen a black panther two different times, plus two different friends about 5 miles away in different directions have seen them on trial cams

Black panther is a black leopard or a black jaguar
Black is beautiful
They are not a separate species. They are either black Jaguars or black leopards. It's an umbrella term.
Ive always had a love for Black Panthers
Are u on historymarche?

This video reminds me of bagheera from the jungle book

“A dark pigment also common to humans” shows white guy, instead of the beautiful melanin that exists in African people
Like 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️ lol
@F.W. ok so what type of mutation of human melanin was shown on the screen then?
Yeah but can we live them alone. I hope they don’t get endangered
