Hello again ☺. Hope you come back refreshed next week, just like in Annie. You both look tired! Still recovering from the Covid maybe? An opportunity to do some belated adjusting and preening on the boat. Just one crumpet, you've got to have at least two, yum 🤣. Take care of each other 💗. Sending love, light and bright blessings 🐷🐷
I think we were still a bit tired, Emmie was working and commuting quite a bit and I had been trying to get as much guitar building in as I could, as well as a few odd bits of maintenance so we didn't have much downtime. I think we only had one crumpet each left! Thank you for watching, sending love and hugs back! X
so glad you were able to get this done! Looked a bit stressful though with everything tipping, annie must’ve been for a bit of a ride 😮 loved the look around Sheffield, ah we miss that city so much 😍 looking forward to seeing more of it as you travel closer all the best guys ❤
We are really enjoying getting to know Sheffield a bit better. We have been coming here for years, but only ever really got to know one very small area of it. You will have to say hi if you pop back at some point, when we are there, of course! Thank you for watching! ♥️
Really enjoyed the Sheffield history lesson! The blacking looks so stressful but so worth it in the end, we're going to have to start planning ours soon so it was really useful to see how it went down for you guys.
I love Sheffield, it's got a little bit of everything and its a very characterful city. We have been coming here for years but only just started exploring it now. Yes, I suspect that the blacking process may have been more stressful than it needed to be, possibly not helped by our flapping! We have just had Annie out of the water again, it's only been a couple of months but she is still pretty immaculate. Thank you for watching! X
Awww sending you both hugs take some time out been stressful for you both again no we thinking of you sending love and blessings from us the oldies 🤗🤗👍👍
That's an amazing amount of stuff dislodged during your move-it doesn't look as though the yard was very careful. In twenty five years of boat ownership and many many haulouts I have never seen such a mess. It must have been very stressful for you both. Still job done, mess cleaned up and onto the next adventure!
Indeed! It was only the first lift out since we bought Annie two years ago so we weren't sure what to expect, but in retrospect, I (Stu) don't think they were that careful. The boat painters, Gibson and Kentwright are great which although in Redhill Marina, they function as a separate business.
Just to add, I (Emmie) think there were new boat lifters there that were in training so it was probably a bit of inexperience. Feeling glad only one plate broke!
Boop thank you for sharing with us , as they say bottoms up less worry for you , just engine to be sorted , weather looks in your favor which is good. 😊😊👍
Boop 💃 what a lovely job they did with that epoxy. Thank you for the guided history tour of Sheffield, Stuart. What an impressive townhall! My favorite moment in this week's video was: Can you still see me? How much of me can you still see? - All of you 😂
Thank you, yes, very happy with the blacking! I do think the yard looks like hard work to manoeuvre a crane and 60' of boat around, but definitely more carnage inside than we have had before or since.
Good thinking on your water jug when Annie was lifted out - ours used to fall over during *cough* normal cruising, so we upgraded to the rectangular countertop model. We still use the old jug to fill the new one! Your hull looks very sleek now.
Yeah, ours has fallen over while cruising, they are a pain. We could use a new jug as ours is getting a bit battered, maybe we will upgrade as well! Thank you for watching!
Hi Both, Enjoyable watch, taking us along to the blacking was good. I have just booked my narrowboat in for blacking next year, which was the earliest time I could get her in. So if your narrowboat needs blacking get the boat booked in well in advance of when needed, has all the good places are busy for sure👍 Relax when you can bothX🐰x
Thank you! Omg nothing till next year! We booked about 4 months in advance but perhaps most slots are summertime ish so need to book in advance of summer 🤔
You always smile through Bobbing Along 😊Stu you are not lazy at all.. love your constructive comments and would love to hear your guitar playing after seeing you woodwork for this. Happy travelling and I’m sure your engine is good bald eagle 🦅 in Rugeley 😎
Thank you for watching! I think that comment was meant as a joke but even if not, keeping on the cleaning back then was a bit of a losing battle so I prioritised my time getting some guitar building done, which was more fun than cleaning a broken engine anyway! I don't play a lot unless I am in a band (which I do miss) though if I do get back to playing, I'm not sure how appropriate my music will be for Bobbing Along!
Hi 👋🏾 this was a very good lesson in what to consider moving etc for when a boat comes out of the water. With my previous boat I took some glasses off a shelf and nothing looked to have been disturbed, which would lead to complacency on my part! The water situation (with the boat being on a slant) must have been so annoying. Emmie, I'm with you about the ladder. The place where my boat was blacked had a staircase on wheels, which I was very grateful for (I'm accident prone at the best of times 😅) Yes Stu, more history of Sheffield in the next video. Have a great week 🤎
Hi! ☺️ Yes indeed, we are very impressed with the magic of sticky shelf liners as those kept nearly everything safe! The ladder is terrifying! We are now out of the water again in another place and thankfully they have given us a step ladder with wheels, feels so much safer. And thank you! History of Sheffield will continue but probably in a few videos time x x
Sounds like you will be in Sheffield area for a while is there a marina you'll be staying in or are you still CC'ing. I was glad to see that not too much was broken on the lift out of the water.
Annie looked better after her paint job. You both look like you need some TLC, I hope you managed to sort the inside out after everything got messed up moving her. I really enjoy your vlogs, hope you take some time out to look after yourselves 😊x
Thank you so much! ❤️ Don't worry, this was filmed during our month off from editing/putting out videos and we are much more rested now in real time x x
Still in pjs not a great start,u had plenty time to be better organised, but now you have done it hopefully more prepared next time, plenty cleaning now dust gets in everywhere with sand blast, you are going to be very busy to get back to normal😢😢
Hi Jean, thank you for watching. In fairness, we were told the day before they would knock around 10am, we don't put everything in the video but we had already moved a lot of the bigger stuff the day before so we weren't exactly unprepared when they knocked over an hour earlier. In retrospect, we should have taped the kitchen doors shut but when we had our first lift out a few years before, absolutely nothing fell over or broke. Everything else was done on the advice of the marina/painters. On the day they sandblasted it wasn't very windy so they said we didn't need to worry about taping up our mushroom vents, though it would have been better if we had.
@@bobbing_along not so much mushrooms vents and holes along boat kitchen towel them it gets everywhere, still job done now nice but paint on rest of body will look very smart for few years, slowly slowly getting there in the end, enjoy this beautiful weather while it's here👏👏👍
Hiya just found your channel.. good stuff . Can you please scan a little slower wgen showing things. Also as im not from England why do you call the toe path a toe path ? We call it a foot path or pavement. Have a great week. Fyo im in Nz
Thank you for the feedback, and thank you for watching! It's actually called the tow path. The name comes from when boats where towed by horses. It's the path they used to lead the horses on. X

Good to see Travis is supervising! The two-pack on the hill is great, I had that too and it's fantastic.
