The Warriors took care of Game 5 versus the Mavericks thanks to (of course!) Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, but also (surprise!) Moses Moody and Nemanja Bjelica in 2022.05.26.DAL-GSW. We look at the stretch in the 2nd quarter where great offense and defense blew open the game and gave the Warriors a lead they would never come close to giving up.
Co-starring Kevon Looney and Jordan Poole. With Luka Doncic, Jalen Brunson, Dorian Finney-Smith, Reggie Bullock, Maxi Kleber and Davis Bertans.

BobGod et al drafted SO BLOODY WELL in the last draft. Moody and Kuminga could be 2 of our new Big 3 with JP, and if Wiseman hits the way all of his trainers and all the observers around him were predicting in his rookie year, jeeeeeesus are we gonna be stacked. I just wish we could keep Wiggins in the Andre role after our OG3 ride off into glory after 2 or 3 more chips... :)
He looks like he’s been playing in this system for years. Setting the right screens, making the right passes, doesn’t force many shots. Very impressed with him this playoffs.

Jordan Poole on defense has all the skills of a wildlife photographer. He's very nonthreatening... Loved Moses "lead my people to the promised land" and Nemanja coming in to play a big role last night - true strength in numbers. Wiggs didn't score big but he made some important shots and free throws when the team was reeling a bit, which is something he does well. He's steady under fire. Overall, think the story of the series was that the Mavs never knew when to expect the Dub Inquisition. The Warriors' worst habit to curb for the next round is leaving open corner three shooters. All hail EOP.

While we all love Showstopper Kuminga who gave us great highlights during the regular season, somehow it is Moody who is playing better in post-season, like he is already a 2nd or 3rd year player. Props to Moody, seriously, he is good.
Steve Kerr's coaching needs to get credit in the way he handles the roster...
I've been more and more impressed with Moses Miracleman Moody, too. But my God, Kuminga's ceiling is, like Steph's Chinese nickname, skyf***er-high. He was getting more and more crafty and it's rare to see such a hyperathletic physical demi-god like him not try to yam on everything every time...but it speaks well for his judgement, I think.
Why does every Moody compliment have to include a slight at Kuminga? Y'all really need to stop doing that.

As someone who played basketball casually, but never really played under an experienced coach, I was amazed at how often I noticed the Warriors do the high-tag defense against screens after watching your most recent video! Truly high-quality content!

Warriors rotation defense after they double team someone is always a beauty to watch. Also this time it's Steph who read it perfectly and Moody coming in clutch to block Luka. Another nice breakdown again as always.

More about 🏀 watching 2 of your videos then I had from any commentors or so called expert on t.v. and I'm 41. I know way way more about football. Amd it was to cool to learn how much more organized and structured basketball is. I kind of thought its just playing. Now I know there is way more strategy, game planning, defensive calls, drag screens, horns defense etc.etc.etc. I never had never even heard of it. I was impressed by many things about the Warriors in this game - Klay's drifting shot legerdemain, Beli's solid play, Looney's rebounding acumen, Wiggins always doing the right thing, Curry's endless hustle, Green's excellence, Poole's shifty speed, all stuff we've seen before, not really surprising (but worth enjoying and celebrating!), but one thing stood out for me.
Moody understands his role.
I think defense is harder to master than offense, but by George, Moody was rotating intelligently, fitting seamlessly into the Warriors' defense, contesting shots without fouling. He has been studying his craft, hard. And he *can* shoot. We knew he was a shooter when he was drafted, but I don't think we understood how good he could become as a defender. What we have in this young man is a fine 3&D shooting guard, and his ceiling might be as lofty as Klay's once he has a few more years of experience under his belt.
Curry won WCF MVP, which is interesting, because he did it without peak Curry shooting accuracy. He got some buckets, but mainly it was his reading the defense, disrupting it, getting assists and hockey assists, rebounding, and the best version of Curry we've ever seen at the defensive end. His impact is massive even when his shots aren't falling at an efficient clip.
I don't think the Celtics are going to look good in the Finals against the Warriors we saw dispose of the Mavs in 5. I suppose it's premature to hoist the O'Brian trophy just yet, but the Warriors will be well advised to make sure their trophy case has a spot for it.

Why do u think Celtics will not neat warriors? Clerics have the best defence in nba and each of their players can defend and are very long
@@tobia6563 It's not obvious the Celtics will even get to the finals, after their Game 6 showing in the ECF. We'll find that out tonight.
But if they do - Draymond thinks they will - I still don't see the level of synergy the Warriors are producing as a team. The Celtics are good, as Eastern Conference teams go, but not *that* good.
Miami is downright erratic. The Celtics sometimes can contain them, sometimes can't. By comparison, the Warriors breezed through the WCF; only Memphis gave them any real heartburn. (Memphis is a darned good team, just a bit inexperienced.)
I think the Warriors are the best NBA team right now, particularly with respect to their bench players. They're peaking at the right time. I consider Memphis to be #2. I don't think anyone else is even close.
Of course I may have to eat those words! Wouldn't be the first time, either.
in the end, our opinions are weightless. It's up to the players and coaches to sort things out. Next week, the sorting will commence. Bring it on!

I hope wiseman and kuminga can learn to play solid D and rotational zone d, and score without forcing it like this moody kid is learning. That’s high IQ ball. Not sure if either of them has played long enough to have that.
@@AR-rn8ok there's going to be growing pains for sure but I believe this Finals run and another season of reps will show them that a lot of their mistakes come from trying to do too much instead of keeping it simple. Plus they have vets to keep them focused.
I can see warriors can have 3 to 5 more tittles with these young guns.

It took this video for me to realize how fast Steph reads the floor. I mean some of those passes are made within a few split seconds and accurately at the right time. True veteran caliber awareness and basketball IQ. Even on the defensive side he knows exactly where to switch. Also I think a big factor in the warriors success is that the veterans communicate and the youngsters listen. They fully trust their leaders and it shows on the court.
Can you imagine if these were the Mavs. “Luca dribbles down and takes 12 seconds off of one action hams a ball to the corner and he hits it. Okay this play Luca comes down he dribbled this time 14 seconds and he gourds the ball into the opposite corner now and he hits a three. This play Luca comes down and he goes off one screen and he tries to finish and then fangs the ball into the trail spot and he hits the three” 🤣🤣🤣
